...Then no one showed up. When I called, they didn't seem to have a good reason... they'd blamed bad weather a month previous for messing up their schedule, but that would have been an excuse to cancel and set up a new appointment, not a surprise no-show.
Obviously installing flooring isn't a small little side project, so it being delayed without notice would have set up a chain of bad events. To their credit, after an angry phone call or two, they managed to send someone out to do the install... but it wasn't a crew, it was just one guy.
Residential was to install flooring that was nearly identical to what I had in other parts of the house. The similar flooring had only taken a few hours to install and was done by a team. This job took a few days to complete, even though it was less space and the same wood.
I was given a discount for the troubles, but the stress difficulties alone weren't worth it. more frustrating, the install job was sloppy. There are gaps between some of the boards that are wide enough to drop things in. I had hoped that they were temporary and wood would expand, but that never happened. I had spare wood and confirmed myself that the boards fit together tighter... they just weren't installed well.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to review our company! Your kind review was much appreciated..looking forward to serving your remodeling needs in the future! We hope you enjoy your new floors!"
The owner, Sam Mardini was very professional, he really knows his stuff. He gave us helpful advice, we had wanted to lay down cork floor in the family room but he advised us against it because that would mean we would have had three types of different flooring on our main floor, and he gave us helpful tips on how to add value to our property.
We had wanted a custom stain for our floors and there was a problem with it because it would not stick on the floors. They say that you can tell the caliber of the company or the people when problems arise and I am glad to say that Mr Mardini took responsibility and re-did our floors until we were completely satisfied with it. I would say that they do live up to their company motto of "Dedication To Perfection".
The team were punctual, they taped up rooms to prevent dust from blowing into the other rooms. However, as dust cannot be completely avoided in a project like this, we noted that the team cleaned up thoroughly after the job was done. We are very pleased with the work that Residential Floors did. we would use them again in the future for other projects and would highly recommend them to others.
