This project went great. Radon Abatement had originally installed our system (at our realtor's recommendation) 12 years ago. A few weeks ago, we had a major basement waterproofing project performed (french drain - demolishing the perimeter of the basement and installation of a water pressure backup system) which impacted the Radon piping. We called Radon Abatement so that they could inspect the impact of this recent basement work and adjust our radon system as necessary so that it continued to work effectively. I remember that 12 years ago this company was in high demand during the summer months because many local realtors recommend them because of their quality work - the same is true today. So, as seasoned Angie's List users in the DC Metro area know, the quality providers are in high demand (because of their excellent work) -- I would suggest that the last reviewer for this provider should have exercised a bit more patience - better contractors are busier and field 20-30 calls a day - and better contractors are worth the wait.
Radon Abatement performed above and beyond my expectations. In addition to fixing the radon system issues that I knew were created by the waterproofing project, Radon Abatement offered to modify the sump pump cover (which didn't fit in its original form) so that it would effectively fit over the complex sump system (including the main sump and various pipes to supply a water pressure-backup system). Upon examining the improvements to my sump area that were both practical and aesthetic (and ones that we could not have performed with our tools and limited technical skills), I told them that the modified sump cover was a and quot;work of art.and quot; They also added sealing to certain areas that were missed by the waterproofers, and offered suggestions for keeping the system working efficiently. They also performed all of this work during their first visit - no need for them to get additional parts and have to set up a second appointment, which was great. I would definitely recommend them but remind list users that good service providers are in high demand.

They are on Angie's List. The guy who actually did it was nice. He gave us a good location with the pipe and he tried to hide everything that needed to be hidden. I think they do a really good job. If needed, we will use them again.

During the sale of our home, the buyers had a radon test done, and it came back at 5.2. We called Radon Abatement Systems, and they were able to help us even though we have an older home which sits on cinder (looks like charcoal). Another company wouldn't touch this job because of the cinder, but Radon Abatement Systems wasn't shocked by it at all. They had seen this situation before, and were confident in their solutions. They put us at ease and demonstrated their 20+ years of experience. We had the home re-tested and the levels came back at 0.4! Needless to say, Radon Abatement Systems solved our problem. Their price was also very fair, especially considering this was a more difficult and complicated job than a house sitting on gravel. We would definitely recommend them!

They drilled a hole in my older home and put a pvc pipe with a fan on the end to vent the house. They were very professional. I was extremely happy with their service.
