MIKE'S CARPET DESIGN STUDIO

I had a leak which resulted in a portion of my carpet pad having to be removed.   Mike's Carpet Design Studio was fantastic.  They provided email confirmation for the repair visit and give us a time window.  They were on time and prompt to start and finish the work.  They did a really great job and the price was very reasonable.  Their crew was very professional and cleaned up as they went.  Very please with the final work and would recommend them.

On time, great crew ... spoke English and cleaned up and were finished shorter than I expected. Will definitely use Mike's Flooring in Vienna again. Note to members: they moved from their original location (next to Starbuck's close to Park Ave) to across the street in the old Magruders grocery store.

At my neighbor's suggestion, I visited Mike's Carpet and talked with David Martin for help with carpet selection for a portion of our new home. He was knowledgable and very helpful. Using the color scheme of the area to be carpeted, he selected several he thought would be appropriate. He also educated me as to the ins and outs--fabric content, grade, backing, etc., since I had not purchased carpeting in years. About a week after I placed the order, he called to tell me that the manufacturer didn't know when that particular color would be produced--so I chose another--same manufacturer. David was very apologetic about the first snafu. The installation took place as scheduled. The installers were excellent; even though the area to be carpeted had been prepared, they went over it carefully, pulling up nails or tiny pieces of old carpet and sweeping the floor before installing the pad. When they finished, they vacuumed every inch of the new carpet. They were very careful not to put even a tiny mark on the freshly painted walls or trim. Also, they were very careful not to mar the wood floors that had just been refinished--they covered every inch of the floor area where they were walking also covered their shoes. For over three hours, the two installers worked non-stop. This was a very positive experience from beginning to end..

This was a terrible experience. The person doing the work was several hours late to arrive. The job took 3 days, which we expected. However, when we returned to the home after it was complete the floors looked terrible. There were waves all over the floors, which I am told is due to not pulling the machine back fast enough. There were various black marks throughout and even a hair stuck in the finish. We had many things done when we moved in to our new home and this is the only one that was a total mess.

It was a very positive experience all the way around. I ve worked with him a couple of times. They tell you the price, there are never any surprises. Everyone was very nice. They were on time.

Kamran Tari, the salesman in the showroom, was very helpful. I do think he "up sold" us a bit on the carpet. But we went in with our eyes open. A crew of 2 arrived right on time and got to work immediately. It took about 6 hours to remove the old carpet/pad, sweep the floors clean, and install the new carpet/pad. It looks great.
