Kevin Kaminski and his team do great work!  They are efficient, and very professional.  I had no trouble getting in touch with Kevin.  The team was always there when they said they would be and the work was of the utmost quality.  I will definitely use KCI again when we put on an addition in a few years!

Kevin and the vendors he recommends are great. The materials are high quality and they listen to what the client wants and needs. He is a great tiler, but not all of his sub-contractors are great. The plumber, dry wall, painter, and electricians require constant supervision. Each of them had to redo work multiple times until it was done correctly.
For these reasons I am rating him a B.

KCI was extremely professional and easy to work with. KCI and their subcontractors kept us informed throughout the project. While there were schedule and cost changes, KCI gave us advance notice and options, rather than surprising us at the last moment.

While KCI is a construction company, our initial experience with them as been as a subcontractor who installs high-end Marvin windows and doors in homes in the McLean, VA area. We purchased new Marvin windows and a Pella door through the Window and Door Showplace in McLean and they had KCI do the installation of the windows and doors that we purchased. The work that KCI's window and door crew did required understanding structural loads as well as appreciation for working on a historical home. It involved closing window openings, framing out new openings, as well as retro-fitting new windows to old openings in our old home that was built in 1900.

My husband and I really appreciated the precise detail that Richard Monterro of Window and Door Showplace and Kevin Kaminsky, owner of KCI and his crew leader, Martin Vidals paid to how everything was done. They met with us on more than one occasion at our home to discuss what was the best approach to our project. They were very careful to inspect the loads in the walls that were being opened for new windows or doors, and were very well organized with their execution of the project. They coordinated seamlessly with Richard Monterro who was our project manager from Window and Door Showplace. While the labor price was not inexpensive, however, we felt confident that the job was being done properly and skillfully by true master craftsmen who were not and quot;learning their tradeand quot; on our house.

The materials for the job were delivered the day prior to the job's beginning and were ready to go for the next day. The crew arrived on time and they worked for about 3-4 days on the job, The job was completed on time and very skillfully. The windows were perfect. The new openings were exactly where and what they needed to be. Trim and new German siding were installed properly, Caulking, insulation, vapor barrier etc. all were in place. No messes, no delays, no drama.

We are now installing more new windows through Window and Door Showplace and KCI because of our past experiences, as well as reviewing a bid from KCI to do quite a bit more actual structural/renovation work on our home. We would not have been doing this if we weren't completely confident in their work.

Kevin and Crew were a pleasure to work with. Extensive discussions of all that would be done, very good communication and plans laid out. He allowed us to choose any pieces that we wanted and accounted against our total for pieces we found and purchased ourselves. His recommendations were spot-on and much appreciated (ie. the shower head is too far away from the door, so turn it on by the door and not all the way under the head; put cubbies in the shower knee wall for shampoo and soap and a second head with extension for cleaning). Best of all, his crew was punctual, tidy, and considerate. They *never* left a mess at the end of the day and were as professional as I've ever seen a work crew. Exceptional communication; not too much stroking, but seeking approval where it was needed.
