JAS Roofing did a fantastic job replacing our roof. Not only were they priced competitively, their work was excellent and done quickly. John and Rick are honest and communicate clearly throughout the process.

The price quoted was very competitive and based on friends’ recommendations we chose JAS Roofing. They got to our roof sooner than expected, completed the work in one day, and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. They were very responsive and answered all questions we had. Would highly recommend.

JAS came immediately when asked to give an estimate.  Work was scheduled and completed in a timely and professional manner.  JAS is a great company-- they will also do repairs on a roof if that is all that is needed.  JAS is an honest and roofing company and as a Realtor, I recommend this company without hesitation to my clients.

Great guys and super easy to get along with. The work was delayed a day or 2 because of the bad weather, but they were on it long before any of the others I contacted would even consider showing up, and on a holiday no less!  Their great reputation around Vienna is justly deserved.

I don't often say this; however, John Session's  company was great to work with from beginning to end.  My husband and I are completely satisfied with the professional and expert work that was done on our roof.  His work crew arrived on time, worked diligently all day and did a superb job of clean up.  We love the results.

Mr. Sessions is always honest and professional. We have used his company twice and recommended him to dozens of neighbors and relatives. He's quick to get you an estimate and, in our experience, does not try to sell you something you do not need. On our first roof, he had plywood ready to install but it turned out it was not necessary. We appreciated his honesty in dealing with us. His crew was punctual, finished on time and did a good clean up job.

Rick was very easy to deal with and very good at communicating when he would come by. He came by twice - once he sealed up an area near where the kitchen stack vented through the roof that had been leaking into the attic. I tried to pay him but he said it did not take long and did this at no cost. Said it was just a minor thing. We arranged for him to come back for a second visit (the first was during the winter) to seal up and check the portion of the house that has a flat roof. He came by when he said he would, fixed that area as well as another area that was showing issues. He also assessed the roof and said that all but the flat roof had at least another 5 years in it. I felt that he was honest in assessing the roofs and not trying to warn of problems that don't exist, etc. A great experience.

I was selling my house and needed to knock off a couple of items from the inspection report...specifically, sealing ridge vent fasteners and evaluating a pipe. JAS was interested in this small project which I certainly appreciated. They are not all that good with calling you back or communicating...I called them and left a message. Then a couple of days later I called them back because I did not hear back from them. They advised they stopped by the house a day or two ago (when I wasn't home or even knew they were coming) and evaluated the work and then provided an estimate. I had to call a couple of times to determine when they would come out to perform the work and then was surprised one day when they were on the roof performing the work. Again, they got the job done, but the communication was weird.

One was the ice storm about ten years ago for my personal residence. There were several companies local and out of state trying to get business due to the overwhelming amount of homes experiencing roof and siding damage. JAS roofing was very competitive in its pricing and the work was outstanding. About five years ago we were in need of a roof at our vacation home on Orange county , Va. I got several quotes from local roofing companies in Orange County, JAS beat them and delivered the same outstanding quality and service. I recommended JAS to a friend who used them. He too was very satisfied.

Igot three bids from three companies that had been recommended to me by friends. JAS was the lowest. John and I talked a little, so I could understand that I really was comparing apples to apples when reviewing the bids. Once I made the decision, JAS dropped off a shingle sample and a contract, and I was added to the queue. When it was time for my roof, the weather became weird. John called at least every other week to let me know what the weather was doing and how that the timing of his work. When the weather warmed up, I had a new roof in a day. New soffits and gutters took two more days. Other than the weather, I couldn't have asked for a smoother process.

This will be the 4th time I have used their company. Over the last 20 months, they have replaced a roof on another house and repaired the roofs on two others. The company was recommended to me by others in Vienna and all of my contacts and services by them have supported what others said. The next roof replacement will be this week or next, depending on weather. Excellent work and service so far and I expect this to be the same.

I purchased my home about a year ago and JAS replaced my roof (paid by the seller). While I had a little bit of hard time coordinating with the seller and JAS, when I finally connected with JAS they were punctual and did a really nice job. In fact, I had other contractors that came to my house for other estimates and they all commented on what a nice and professional job JAS did! This summer while in the attic I realized that as a result of a storm that broke a branch on the tree...I had a hole of about 1-2 inch diameter in my roof. I contacted JAS. They came fixed the problem and never charged me. It is not often that you come across a professional, competent roofing company like JAS.

Clearly the ideal review of a roofer would be written at a point when the installation had proved its value over a significant period - perhaps many years. That seems to be rarely the case and it isn't here - the job was completed this morning and spanned a day and a half. However our experience with JAS Roofing dates from our initial call for an estimate which was about a month back. We based our choices on recommendations on Angies' List and its best known competitor (in the Washington DC area, at least!). Each of the three estimators represented their company in a favorably and was helpful as participant in our roofing and quot;educationand quot; process.
We ultimately chose JAS Roofing not solely because they were marginally the low bidder of the three but rather because of their estimator (Rick Tomkin)'s balanced and credible analysis of the and quot;must havesand quot; and the and quot;needn't havesand quot; in our description of what we were looking for. He probably spent about 3 hours in examining our roof and also interior (attic) areas where additional work would need to be done. In addressing areas where he was recommending work/materials that other proposals didn't - and also areas where he didn't suggest work/material that other bidders did - he, again, was persuasive and comprehensive in his coverage of the issues. We think Rick gauged well the depth of our and quot;home maintenanceand quot; wallet and our priorities regarding where expenditure makes good sense and where it might not. Bottom line: as client and supplier we seemed a and quot;good fitand quot;.
All of these and quot;plussesand quot; were again evident when we went back to Rick, prior to accepting JAS's proposal, with questions and a couple of counter-proposals which he happily accepted. He was also flexible when we sought better than originally offered warranty terms and a few extra pieces of hardware.
In spite of some fairly extreme recent weather in the area JAS were ready to do the work on the originally proposed date. The team arrived at a frightening 6.15 AM but which made total sense give the expectation of mid 90's temperatures by early afternoon. Both owner (John) and Rick were present at start of work (and several times later) and said the work should take about a day and a half (ie. right on the original 1 - 2 days estimated.) and that's exactly how things panned out.
The finished job looks great but, of course, has yet to be evaluated in the next extreme weather event and in the longer term but we are optimistic and also confident that in the event that problems arise JAS will be back to handle the situation. Site clean-up and debris removal was done very thoroughly and, at this point, we are extremely satisfied customers.
Re pricing: the bids spanned a $12,750 - $16,000 range (for a 3,800 sq ft California Ranch with a fairly complex set of eaves).

I had an emergency and called them. They were very responsive, prompt and very professional. Assessed my overall roof and fixed immediate issues they saw. As it did not take long they did not charge me anything for this visit! They gave me a very reasonable estimate to give me a new roof which I will need shortly. They will definitely be one of my top contenders when I replace my roof.

Based upon a friend's recommendation, I contacted JAS Roofing. Rick promptly returned my call and was able to accommodate an appointment in a relatively short time frame. I had two water leaks (albeit small) in my home. After a plumber couldn't find anything; he suggested a roof inspection. Rick assessed the situation and determined that I needed some minor roof repair. He explained that potentially could explain one water leak but not the other spot. He did not try to sell me a new roof and was patient answering my questions. He scheduled the work the following week. When weather prevented the work being done, he left a message and advised me of the delay. He called again when he expected the work to be completed. And then he called when the work was completed. It was a small job and many companies would not even return my calls nor would they even consider taking it. I was impressed with Rick's professionalism. I recommend JAS Roofing and would definitely use them again.

They were recommended by my in-laws who have lived in Vienna for over 30 years and have used them quite a bit. They had the best estimate, the work was fantastic, they were great to deal with and recommended by my mother-in-law who can be quite particular about services she has performed.
They'll be the first company I call if I ever need work on the roof or the gutters again.

I love it! They did a great job, and I don't have anything bad to say about the experience. They did a thorough, complete job. They worked hard and did everything on time. Everything was done perfectly!
