Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry

I bought an Ebel watch from Jared on Leesburg Pike 5-6 years ago. Last year I brought it to Jared for a battery replacement, while the watch was still under the manufacturer's warranty. I caught on to how unimportant Jared's considers it repair service when one of the 5 or 6 salesmen standing around doing nothing told me to get in line behind 8 other customers waiting for one very methodical repair person to handle each lengthy transaction. A 30 minute wait just to find out whether Jared would honor the warranty! They would, however, and presumably they sent the watch to Ebel. The watch was ready for pickup a month later. It had one of the screws holding the bracelet missing. When we finally developed the stomach to go back to the store, Jared told us the repair would take a few days. When we called a week later, the story was that all repairs would take at least a month. When a month was up, we called again -- and found out that all Jared had done was to cook up an estimate of $80 to have Ebel replace the screw they had forgotten the first time. We picked the watch up from the store and took it to the jewelry repair shop on the second level in Tysons I mall. The gentleman found a screw of the right size and polished the crystal and cleaned the stainless-and-gold bracelet beautifully - for $70, in less than an hour. We are so glad that we bought our engagement and wedding rings elsewhere. We are definitely done with Jared, forever.
