Plumbing for the bathrooms as far as I know went ok - time will only tell. A leak was discovered before county inspection but was fixed in a timely manner. However, preparing for, installing the gas line and coordinating with Washington Gas for the stand-by generator was an unpleasant experience, as a matter of fact it was horrid. First, there's a formula to calculate the length/size of the gas line based BTU's required for the stand-by generator. Not sure they were aware of that technicality and instead suggested a 1/2 or 3/4 inch pipe for a 162 foot gas line to power up a 777,000 BTU generator at full load. I did my own research, sought advice from the company who sold me the generator and as a result insisted on at least a one inch pipe. First red flag! Second, A&S requested I contact Washington Gas and ask them to install a split gas meter? Washington Gas said a split gas meter is not necessary and that ample pressure is being supplied from the street. They asked me to tell the plumber to connect directly to the "gronsky tee." As plumbers, they should have known that. And why am I contacting Washington Gas? Why am I doing their work and paying them? More red flags are popping. Now I am getting really concerned. Third, I am also told by the prime contractor that they recommended the electrician for the generator work and hook-up. All the electrical work for the generator had to be redone. Panels had to be fully rewired to meet to specifications and for approval by county inspectors. Trench had to be redug to 24 inches deep to meet specs, an additional conduit had to be installed. Etc. Etc. Fourth, on most occassions A&S did not appear as promised in the job site and never returned phone calls to confirm appointments previously agreed to. They had all sorts of excuses. In addition to not having a clue about stand-by gerenrator protocols, they were untimely and non-responsive. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience. I do not plan to use them again and do not recommend them for any type of work.
