Mike Phillips

Mr. Phillips did not have his own paint sprayer. We had to meet him to rent a sprayer. He then could not get the sprayer to work correctly, so we had to return that sprayer and find another one to rent. He still had problems with the second sprayer and it sprayed unevenly. The paint that we bought was completely wasted. The walls were see through and you could see the yellow paint underneath. He then decided to roll the paint, so we had to buy more paint! While he was painting (or rather his assistant, who did the lion's share of the work), paint got on the hardwood floors and on areas of the carpet downstairs. There was overspray on the wooden closet doors. Additionally, he used flat paint on the trim. The 2 day job turned into a two week job, because Mr. Phillips had several more jobs that he had already scheduled. The majority of the time his assistant, (who was not a painter) was doing the work. Phillips would be gone for hours, and when he was there he was on his cell phone orchestrating his other jobs. One day, he did not even show up. We had to point out several areas that were missed. The broken stairstep got repaired, and the shingles were replaced on the roof, but the paint job was horrible! When we asked about the clean up, he replied that the paint was water based and would come up easily. It has not. We have had to chip paint off of the hardwood floors, and the paint is actually peeling off of the stairsteps. We spoke with Mr. Phillips several times to rectify the situation. He promised that he would have a professional painter come in and fix his mistakes as he admitted that he had bit off more than he could handle, and really was not a painter. (We had gone on the recommendation of a reputable cleaning service representative). To date, we have not heard back f rom Mr. Phillips regarding the person who is to correct the mess he made, nor has this person contacted us. We are completely disgusted and will never use his services nor recommend him to anyone that we consider a friend.
