Handyman Service
When I first meet Haskel Colgrove, I thought I was having a flashback to the 1970's. His long white curly hair was tied back in a pony tail and he had a warm smile and friendly personallity. He had come to install the cabinets I ordered from Lowes. I had told the salesman at Lowes that I wanted under cabinet lighting added to the cabinets when they were installed and he had told me to discuss it with the installer and the installer could make those arrangements with me at the time of insiallation.
Haskel went with me to Lowes to pick out the proper type of lighting. He gave me the pros and cons of the available choices, anwered all my questions, gave me an estimate of the cost, then helped me collect everything and carried it to my jeep.
He showed up every day on time or a few minutes early, worked steadily throughout the day without taking long breaks and stayed as long as it took to finish the job.
When he finished the work I originally contracted from Lowes, I asked him if he could do some additional work in my primary kitchen and he agreed to take a look and let me know what he could do.
During the 15 years I have lived in this house, I have asked at least half a dozen carpenters if the cabinet above my range could be modified or removed so that a microwave oven could be installed above the range. Without exception, they had all said they could not, or would not, do it. The reasons given included: there was no way to remove or modify the cabinet without destroying it, or the job was too tedious, or it just couldn't be done! Haskel took one look at it and said, "Sure, I can do that but I'll have to do it on my own time, when I'm not doing a job for Lowes." I also asked him about several things I wanted done and agreed to pay him $200.00 per 8 hour work day.
Although this work was not for Lowes, he still went to Lowes for all of the lumber and supplies. He often worked well over 8 hours a day but would never take more than the agreed upon $200.00 per day. He either showed up when he said he would be here, or called to tell me he would be a little late and when I could expect him to arrive. He gave 100% time and effort for every hour he worked and took as much care as if he had been doing the work for his own home.
If I ever need any additional work done around my home, I will definitely call him to do the work.
