The technician called to see whether he could arrive early (yes please!) and was so courteous and considerate. He listened to my issue and had my air conditioner unit up and cooling again in just a few minutes. He charged a very fair price. I really couldn't be more pleased.

m.Neither unit has ever worked correctly. They don't cool or heat the house well. EVERY SINGLE TIME that the heat or the air is turned on for the season one or other of the units breaks down. I called Clyde Smith repeatedly and was told that nothing was wrong and they couldn't explain it but were happy to charge me for visits and adding Freon, though it supposedly was not leaking. It took me years to find out from a York dealer in Richmond that these particular units had long (way before 2002) had been known to be defective and leak. I would never use them again and would not buy a house with an HVAC installed by Clyde Smith. The $6000 is what it cost to replace one unit. The other one is now about to require replacement and the cost will be higher thanks to Clyde.

The service tech showed up, determined that the furnace ignited properly, but said it needed to be serviced, which I already knew and conveyed to them in my initial phone call. I explained that I was seeking their professional opinion as to whether or not the furnace was even viable before I dumped money into cleaning and servicing it. The tech said that would be determined through another service call when they came to clean it. I asked how much it would cost for them to clean it, but he didn't know. He wrote down the model number of the furnace and said he would have somebody contact me via email about the costs involved, and would email me a receipt for the $ 80.00 just spent for his non-service. I waited .. nothing .. and after a phone-call prompt on 10/06/15, I received an email that said, " attached is the proposal and brochure for the new oil furnace. Let me know if you have any questions or comments." Never did get my receipt, nor did I get any quote for cleaning & servicing as promised.

The service man arrived at 2:00 (the reservationist said said they would call about 12:30 to tell me when they were coming) He greeted me politely and went to the heat pump and asked me what was happening to it. I explained it to him and what I thought it could be. He had me start the unit and grabbed his gear. Less then 20 minutes the heat pump was up and working again. He informed me that the capacitor had burned out. He had replaced it and checked the freon levels which were found to be where they were suppose to be. I am very happy with this service.

They were very good. We have had a few problems with the air handler but they have come out and taken care of the issues. They are reasonable in price.

It went fine. The gentleman came on time and had called first and performed the service check up and will call in 6 months for the next check up.

We have been using Clyde Smith to service out heat pump for at least 5 years and have been highly satisfied in their work throughout that period. We have a contract with them, and they always call to set up a visit. The technician always comes on time and is very proficient and cordial. Nothing but high marks for this company.

We have 2 furnaces in our house, one in the basement for the downstairs, and one in the attic for the upstairs. 3 years ago the motor went out on our downstairs unit.. We called Clyde E. Smith because they had done some other work for us in another house. They assured us that the motor could be replaced and the unit would work fine again, which is remarkable given the furnaces are original to the house, which was built in 1989. They ordered the motor and installed it, and the basement unit has worked fine since.On Monday we turned the heat on for the first time this season, and the furnace in the attic made a terrible noise but never turned on. My husband went up to the attic and said it was the same motor problem that the basement unit had had. He called Clyde E. Smith, gave them the part number off the motor. They ordered it on Monday, and called yesterday to say they would be here at 2 p.m. today to do the repair.
At 2:05 p.m. today the repairman arrived with the new motor and installed it in 30 minutes. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. Now the heat's on again!

The service guys are very friendly, professional, and they seem to know what they are doing. We have had problems with other A/C companies not being able to figure out what the problem was. These guys came out and pointed out right and left just stuff that was stupid that somebody should have picked up. They are very competitive in price. It is nice to know you can have somebody to rely on.
