It went very well. Whenever I can get local/independent skilled service, I do and Mr. Cosner was very professional and timely throughout. Quality work.

Terrible. Cosner's original intentions may have been good, and he may have learned enough about HVAC installation through repetition that if nothing goes wrong you might get a decent installation at a good price. But heat pumps are complicated and often have things go wrong. And Cosner is just one guy with limited knowledge. Once an issue with the new heat pump he sold me became apparent, though he tried to fix it he was unable to do so and in the process became hypersensitive, quick-tempered, an extremely poor communicator, and ultimately... well, let's just say misleading about what I'd said to him and about what the distributor from whom he'd been asking for help had said about the problem. The Manufacturer (Nortek/NuTone - who also makes Maytag, Frigidaire, Westinghouse, Gibson, Broan, Kelvinator, and Philco) deserves some of the blame for having made a defective product. But the arrangement between the manufacturer and installer is that the installer is responsible (with help from the distributor) for figuring out the problem before the manufacturer will get involved. Cosner completely failed at this. When the distributor finally recommended a fix for the problem I'd been complaining about (according to the distributor, Cosner had failed for over a year to tell the distributor what my complaint actually was), Cosner refused to follow-up, and even claimed to have provided me with the part (which he did not). I know this sounds extreme, but I saved the emails to prove what I say here. So I paid him 5 grand and ended up with a dysfunctional unit, lots of headaches and frustration, and apparently nothing more I can do about it. I strongly urge you to hire a better connected company with employees who have access to better trouble-shooting and can effectively communicate.

Great from the start. Mr. Cosner was on another call and asked to get back to me in about hour. He did that, and we set up an appointment. On the call, he explained how the electric company's rebate program worked and what I should expect. He arrived on time, worked efficiently, answered my questions, and had the paperwork ready for me.
I will definitely call Cosner's for annual tune-ups and if I need work in between. I have told others how pleased I was.

The tuneups were covered by Dominions tuneup rebate program. I called due to the blower for the upstairs unit not coming on. Called on Wednesday for service. Cosner told me that he would be by on Thursday due to his van being in repairs. He called back on Thursday saying he would be over first thing on Friday due to being strapped on Thursday. He was here with his partner exactly as promised. He checked the blower and found that it was in working condition. He took the time to tell me what he believed happened and how to prevent or reset it in the future. Then he found during the tune ups that both units needed Freon. He discussed why I was losing Freon and I should be looking at replacing the units within the next year. His knowledge level was exception and did a wonderful job of explaining exactly what what happening with the units and only did the work that was required.The cost is an estimate since he is sending me an invoice along with the rebate form for Dominion Power which he will take care of. He also wore booties to prevent dirt being tracked inside which was good since the ground was damp and soggy outside due to the rain. I would most definitely recommend his services.
