Animal Grooming
Yes, I recommend this pro
$35
I've used Taddle Tails for four years now and don't have room here to tell you all the things I like about them. Jennie grooms (and
occasionally boards) both of my Yorkies. She's mainly a groomer but occasionally boards and cares for the dogs she grooms, whom she calls her "babies." She charges me $35 to groom my older Yorkie and less for the younger one who doesn't have much hair yet.  When she keeps my dogs while I'm away, it's $10 per dog per night. And not having to worry about them when I'm away: priceless!
GROOMING:
Excellent. Jennie is highly skilled as a stylist. No matter what shape my dogs are in when I take them to Jennie, they walk out looking, smelling, and feeling wonderful. One of them has a thick coat that mats easily and I had let it get way out of hand. Ashamed of how bad it was, I took him to Jennie. Jennie and I both love dogs too much to put him through a painful ordeal, so I was sure she'd have to totally shave him down and he'd look skinned. But somehow she managed to make him look so cute, even though she had to remove a lot of hair. Amazing.
BOARDING (dogs she grooms): When I leave my dogs with Jennie, I know they will be treated like family--she said our smaller one slept on her fiance's head one night. (It must be true love because that dog smelled ripe when I dropped her off.) Jennie plays fetch with them and does whatever she can to make them feel comfortable. One of my dogs was chewing himself so she walked over to the vet's--just steps away from her facility--and got some prescription shampoo and bathed him. I asked her what the charge was and she said there was no charge because I was paying her to take care of him. She actually bathed them both and trimmed their hair and nails. Still she said there was no charge. (Though I usually have them groomed when I board them and pay the regular rate, this time she was booked so I brought them freshly bathed.) I gave her a larger than usual tip, but I practically had to force it on her.
ONE MORE THING: Have you ever been to a dog grooming facility and could just feel the tension in the place? Have you seen rows of dogs standing on sterile tables in some assembly line? When you walk into Taddle Tails, you can feel the love. Sounds corny, I know, but that's what it's like. I end up taking way too much of Jennie's time because she's so nice to talk to plus she has a wealth of information about dogs. The dogs look happy there  too--I'd swear I could see them smile.
