I've used Smitty's a few times before for some smaller jobs. He was particularly helpful when troubleshooting a very old gravity furnace in a house we just purchased...this is a unit that absolutely has no spare parts available anymore and I feared it was dead and needed to be replaced, but he was able to fix it with just a jumper wire.
But the primary job I hired him for was to install a heat pump in the upstairs of a hundred year old house. He handled the building permit, running the electrical, coolant, and drain lines, cutting an access hole to get the unit into the attic (and offered to install a pull-down ladder as well), running duct to all the upstairs rooms, and getting the air handler up unto the VERY tight attic (probably less than 4' of headroom).
Work was done on-time, as-promised, on-budget, and workmanship is neatly done.
Would definitely recommend.

They are excellent and I never had a problem with it. They were clean and they came when they said they were going to come and left when they said they would as well.

Called them up left a message and secretary called back quickly. They came out confirmed the problem and called me with a quote. They had the lowest price of 3 quotes, installed system on scheduled time and worked with us to make sure of availability.

Their bid was substantially less than others that I got, and his bid included disposal of the old fuel oil tank in the basement, whereas other bidders proposed to charge $500 more for this service. They showed up when they said they would and got the job done quickly and on bid.

They diagnosed the problem and came back the very next day and had the new furnace installed in 3 hours.

They found nothing wrong with our units, and their price, which included a 10% off coupon from Angie's list was very fair, considering what other HVAC companies charge for the comparable inspections.

He has done a lot of work for us and he is excellent. I recommend them hands down. He is able to look at a problem figure out a solution for it and get it done. I think their price is competitive, it might be a little high but I am willing to go higher for the quality.

I had a lightning strike in the compressor of the air conditioning unit. The insurance covered the cost of it. The guy was very reliable. He was neat and clean. He did what he would do and when he would do it. I will use them again in the future.

They are prompt and reliable, and they know their products.
