I would give 5 stars for their pump out service (Mike was awesome, very professional and expedient in servicing our septic cleanout—overall GREAT!); 1 star for the poor customer service by Sharon. Details: A&M Septic Service has been servicing our home for over 25 years. In fact, they installed the current floats and pump back in 2011. Our negative rating/comment is focused more on when we had issues with our recent pump chamber. Mike recommended I contact their electrician who knows septic systems and could raise our electrical box to code (it was partially buried). When I coordinated with the electrician, he said I should replace the floats since it was too short on slack cord to raise and you can’t splice inside the chamber--I was fine with that. As for the pump, there was enough slack wire (approx. 5 feet confirmed by another electrician) to raise the line inside of the chamber 6 inches to re-splice outside of the chamber into a new junction box. Bottom line: we were not going to splice anything INSIDE of the chamber. The electrician recommended I call Sharon at A&M to setup the float install and tell her about the troubleshooting of the pump working in HAND mode only because of the possible float issue. Here’s where it gets interesting. I called Sharon that Friday (I said it was not in an emergency but “urgent” situation) and informed her that I was having issues with my floats, only able to pump out the chamber in manual mode, and confirmed with her electrician sub-contractor after troubleshooting. Before I could explain my issues and desire to raise the junction box and replace 3 floats, she began telling me what my septic problems were BEFORE hearing the full story or steps we took with her electrician. Before I could really speak, she ended the call to contact the electrician who I had been talking with to get the real info instead of giving me, the customer, a chance to explain what we had done. After 30 minutes, she calls me back telling me the solution vs. understanding root cause: "you need 3 new floats, a new pump which will cost $2500 plus whatever work the electrician needs to do to raise my junction box." I tried to tell her that there was enough slack on the pump to work with and that it was working fine. Instead, I got an earful on county codes and regulations on no splices in a box, and A&M won’t touch my system unless we change out the pump with the floats. Very upsetting and it felt like a “one-way transmission” from her—too directive. I told her I would call her back at 4PM with my decision since I had a 1-hr work call. She said to call or text her after and they could start work as early as the next Wednesday (3 business days later). So, I called her line at 4PM and ended up leaving a VM stating we would have them do the floats and pump but asked for an onsite assessment. I then texted her as per her instructions our "ok" to schedule for Wednesday and followed up with a call and left another message on Saturday (they were closed but checking VMs). Thinking surely she will call me on Monday AM, I waited. Nothing. Tuesday—Nothing. By Wednesday, the day they were supposed to start work, I got a call by the electrician at 12:30PM asking if I was going forward with the work. Sadly, he was caught in the middle and as of this feedback, A&M has NOT returned any of my calls or texts. The most irritating of all? Sharon knew we were in a pickle and needed their help...they were the first company we called because we were loyal customers to them who have been servicing us for years. Regardless of her perhaps having a bad day, it's also about voice of the customer. Sadly, we went with another company who did an OUTSTANDING job and elected to change out the floats and a pump for peace of mind. Again, pump out service, no issue—Mike and team are awesome. Scheduling and working with the front office?--Sharon was not easy to work with and no follow-up to a loyal customer/home for more than 20+years….because of this experience, A&M has lost our business.

I was impressed by their generally glowing reviews. When I contacted A&M Septic, the receptionist was friendly, took my information, and gave me a date and time that the work would be completed. I drove down to meet the inspector but he/she came and left before I arrived. I called the main number, but there was no answer. Later that day, around mid-afternoon, I called again and finally spoke to someone. She said that once I paid the bill they would send the report. As I read off my credit card digits, she seemed rather distracted. As it turns out, she was on her cell phone, attempting to scribble my information while driving! I promptly hung up and told her I would call back after she reached the office. When I called back, there was no answer, and I left a message asking someone to call me. The next business day, I called back as I was never contacted. The phone was consistently either busy or not answered (and I didn't want to leave another message). My call was eventually answered and I gave my credit card information (again) with promises that I would receive the report. I have still not received the report and will have to try to call them again tomorrow. I am anxious to receive the report, so I can move forward with purchasing this home. If you require inspection results with any semblance of promptness, I would highly advice you look elsewhere! I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think they are just swamped right now, but this is getting ridiculous.

"Thank you so much Mr. [Member Name Removed] for taking the time to evaluate our services. Again I cannot apologize enough for the delay in service nor is there an excuse for not receiving a follow up call to let you know the circumstances that kept us from arriving during the scheduled time. We strive for excellence customer service for our customers and even though this was not met on our end, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback as well as still giving us high marks for the service that we actually performed. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you in the future."

They did the service agreed to, arrived on time and the price was more than fair especially given the short time request.

I would use them again. They were responsive, did a good job. Very quick.  The only down side, was prior to coming, they had a flat tire, and failed to notify us of a delay.
 Price was good.

It was an emergency - I  called Mike the owner, he called his guys and they were at my house in 2 hours.  Immediately found the problem and fixed.  Dustin and Brad (sorry guys if I did not get your names right) performed the service - they answered all my questions, were thorough, and did an excellent job.   I would not hesitate to call these guys back and highly recommend them.

Cold not find a provider to pump our car wash tank.  After many calls to various septic service companies that do not pump car wash tanks, finally came across A & M Septic Service.  Upon calling them was glad to have found them as our tank was in dire need of being pumped.  Upon leaving a message Mike was quick to return call.  We scheduled our service and they showed up promptly at the agreed time.  Very professional and will continue to use them in the future.  Highly recommended and happy to be their customer!.

They were very honest, and expressed a desire for the new buyers to come see the repairs prior to completion so that they would feel comfortable with everything. The analysis was articulate and in laymen's terms.
I will not hesitate in the future to call Aand M. From the actual concern that they showed for the circumstances of the buyer and seller, to the professional work, and the expedited reporting from the office staff, I will be calling on them again if I ever need or have the opportunity to refer a septic service.

Mike always is punctual and does a good job - put tank cover and dirt back neatly and you'd never know he was there. I would highly recommend Aand M over other Septic services - I've tried others and none are as responsible as this company. Excellent service, fair price, shows up on time and pleasant to deal with.

Mike (the owner) came out promptly when I called because we thought there was a problem. Turned out there was no problem (what a relief - long story as to why we thought so) But we needed the tank cleaned out anyway, so he and his assistant did that. They were friendly, professional, and knew what they're doing. They did a great job. But this wasn't the only time he could have trumped up work to charge us extra and didn't, but instead did exactly what was needed and no more.

Another time, around five years ago, we needed a new septic contractor and called Aand M. The pump was out or at least we thought so because the pump alarm came on. We have a pump because the tank drainage goes uphill to the septic field. We have an alarm to warn us before the pump tank is about to overflow into our yard or basement. Aand M came out and found a bad pump and a rat's nest of misconnected wires between the pump and the alarm, which are on different electrical wiring, and a bad alarm sensor. He said the incorrect wiring had probably caused the pump to run 24 hours a day, burning it out years before its time. Mike changed the pump and alarm sensor and made sure it was all functioning properly and charged a very reasonable amount. We knew the previous company had not known what they were doing and were glad to find someone who did. A few days after that, the pump alarm went off. So we called Aand M and Mike came out right away. Turns out the new alarm sensor went bad - not unknown to happen, he said, but fairly rare. So he changed the alarm sensor and didn't charge us for the replacement. A couple of weeks or so later, the alarm went off again. Trusting Mike, we called Aand M again and he came out very quickly. This time he found the new sensor was also bad again and he was very frustrated because he said that the sensors just don't go out like that and these were good quality sensors (and not cheap). And he did a lot of testing to make sure nothing else was wrong. But with the grace and good humor characteristic of him, he changed the sensor and said he just hoped this one didn't go bad too. And he didn't charge us for the work. It didn't go bad, and we have blessedly had an excellently working septic system every since. For which we are very grateful and thankful to Mike and Aand M. Hire Aand M! You won't regret it!
