Motorcycle Service
My 1994 Harley had been sitting about a year. It would start but when I gave it gas it would die. I replaced the accelerator pump diaphragm in the carb, cleaned the jets as best I could and put some Seafoam in the gas tank. The bike still would not idle well and had some hesitation when accelerating. I figured I needed a complete carb cleaning which Stumpy also thought was the problem. I was quoted a price of $150 for a carb cleaning and to replace the jets. When I took the bike in the next day, Stumpy adjusted the carb while the bike was running, found a short in a wire, recommended I tighten screws to intake seals (slight leak), put some new plugs in it and told me what to do the next time I anticipated the bike would be sitting for a long period of time. He sold me the plugs for $10 and charged me $10 for carb adjustments. He saved me from the $150.00 or more that I was about to spend on the bike. It is great finding an honest mechanic.
