J & J CLEARING & GRADING INC

Contacted them in December for a quote, but had to hold off on the work for a while. Contacted them again in early April to get a revised quote since the scope of the work had changed. Gave them the go-ahead mid-April and was told the work would get done in a week or so. After not hearing anything for a while, I called again and was told work would begin in a week. This happened several times and I kept being told work would begin soon but nothing ever happened. This was my only complaint about working with J&J and it frustrated me quite a bit.
Once they gave me a specific date, they came out promptly when they said they would around 8am and went over the details of what I wanted done to be sure we were all on the same page. They removed one truck load of brush and four truck loads of dirt and debris from a 1700 sq ft area, everything from old bottles and cans, to carpet, to car tires. Then they brought in 3.5 loads of fill dirt and graded it all smooth. They were done and the equipment loaded up by 3pm that same day. They then offered to put some grass seed down, though they had to come back another day since the truck with the seed had already left.
The crew was very professional and hard working. Mr. Johnson was quite skilled with the equipment, doing all the clearing, digging, and grading with one excavator. They offered a great service for a great price. The only improvement I could suggest is in the communication and scheduling area. I understand that the weather can play a factor, but a month and a half of "it'll start next week" is frustrating, particularly when I'm the one having to ask for updates. In the end, we were happy with the services they provided and would probably use them again.

They did excellent work removing my unwanted tree. They were a local, father and son business, who took pride in their work and completed the job with absolutely no complaints. They cleaned up all of the twigs and branches laying in our yard. We had recommended them to our neighbors who used their services as well.
