Called from various numbers to get them to answer and all Anthony told me was lies....never returned to complete the work he was paid for.....definitely a pos......

here’s my experience with them: - we set a date, they didn’t show. I called other vendors to schedule a look. They show up randomly 5 days after the set date, ask to start working. I wanted a contract, they gave a so-so one. I had to contact the other vendors not to show, but I hate wasting people’s time. Minus one star for professionalism. - they cut down 3 out of 7. Mentioned they’ll be back. They came back 48 hours after the set date. Had a jungle of a backyard. Very slow to respond when calling/texting. Minus another star. - they cut the remaining trees down. They didn’t have Their own equipment for clean up, so they used my rakes. They put trash from they vehicles in my trash bin. The crew left a bunch of bottles and trash in the front and back yard. I had to clean that up. Minus another star. - they said they’d be back to pick up the 3 large logs ? that they left. 3+ weeks later, haven’t heard from them. Minus another star. - we negotiated for them to remove the wood from the deck where one of the trees they cut. They didn’t. Minus another star. - when transporting the logs with the bobcat, they hit my neighbor’s nice tree and put some nice dents in it. They could have cut the logs shorter to prevent that, so i think that’s kinds of lazy. Minus another star. Even if you have the best price, there’s certain standards to uphold regarding: professionalism, service, and value. If you need to cut costs, yes hit these guys up. Just lower your standards involving ethics and decency...

RUN!!! I mean run as fast as you can! Stay away from Anthony Copeland and Copeland’s Tree Service. I hired Anthony to cut down 2 trees, remove debris, and grind 2 stumps. Unfortunately, his service was a nightmare. Don’t be fooled by his reasonable price. He will ask for cash up front. Don’t pay him cash! He will take your money and tell you that he will return the next day to finish the job. HE WON’T!! He does incomplete work and will not return to your home or return calls. If you decide to allow him to cut your trees, do it at your own risk and ask for a contract. Don’t pay until the job is complete and I would advice you to pay with a check. He also damaged my fence. If I could give him a minus 5 stars, I WOULD! He doesn’t deserve 1 star! Please save yourself the headache and go with a reputable tree service, Copeland Tree Service isn’t reputable. Read other reviews, Anthony has done this to other hard working people and this is an ongoing pattern.

ABSOLUTE WORST TREE SERVICE IN THE HAMPTON ROADS AREA. BEWARE OF THE LOW COST QUOTE YOU GET AT THE BEGINNING, BECAUSE YOU END UP PAYING FOR IT IN THE END. I hired Copeland's Tree Service to cut down two trees, grind the stumps, and remove all of the debris. The cost was very reasonable, so I was pleased at first. Things turned bad quickly. At one point the foreman Anthony came to my door and told me that they had forgotten their rakes, so they wouldn't be able to clean up. What respectable tree service or landscaper forgets the most basic of their tools? This company left all of the debris in my yard (Branches, limbs, and huge logs), claiming that they would be back in two days to remove it. They never returned. I called and spoke with Anthony on several occasions, and he told me that he would come out himself to take care of it (By "taking care of it" Anthony meant that he would cut up all of the logs, and leave them on the side of the street for people to pick up. Not that he would solve the problem and do what he stated he would do, which was REMOVE the debris from my yard). Anthony never showed. I called Copeland's every day for a week, and had to leave voice mails, because he had stopped answering my calls. Needless to say, I never received a call back, In addition to the tree debris that they left in my yard, they also left their trash (several plastic water bottles and fast food wrappers), and their sweaty t-shirts. I finally had to hire a different company to come and remove the debris, so the great price that Copeland's gave me didn't even matter, because it ended up costing much more to hire someone else to finish their job.

Wonderful! Anthony is a master at his craft. It was fascinating to watch him cable, cut and remove the large sections of the branches that were growing dangerously over the house. With amazing precision, he was able remove and maneuver each cut section to land safely on the ground in the small yard below. He artistically pruned several other trees, including a large crape myrtle and a tall oak tree, as well as removing a few smaller trees/bushes. When he was finished, he cleaned up and hauled away all the debris. All of this he provided at a very fair price. We will use him again for all of our tree care needs, and have already recommended him to others.
