Sterling Van Lines

I was happy with their service.  They were piano movers that can also move some furniture.  So even though they are marketed as piano movers they had a large enough truck that they could take care of furniture.  Some of the other piano movers only had small trucks so they would only use pianos so I used them more because they could do some furniture that I had in storage that belonged to my Mom.  They are piano movers.  I'd give them out of 10, I'd give them 9.  I mean you know it's hard for me to give somebody a perfect score, so I give them 9 out of 10; which is pretty good.  I would give them an A- you know because they were pretty good.  Since I had no complaints I'd give them an A then.  They were very good.  It's hard to remember stuff that happened last year.  All I know there wasn't any bad episodes.  I was happy with the price and there was no problems; issues, that came up.  On price they were competitive.  I wouldn't necessarily go with they were the cheapest, they were competitive.  Primarily I was going by reading reviews and how many reviews; I think I relied more on another service than Angie's.  I wanted to see what maybe Angie's people said.  There might not have been enough reviews on Angie's for Piano Movers, I don't remember.  I relied on the other reviews and how many there were and then I reduced it down to cost.  On quality in terms of getting it delivered, I didn't have any problems.  On responsiveness, there was full communication.  On punctuality, I think they might have been late, I'm not sure.  I think there was some kind of a problem about showing up on time, but I don't remember.  They were professionals.  I don't have as much need for moving a piano unless I'm going to move out of my apartment soon.  I would use them again.  I might still check around even if I was happy with them.

When I called,creepy Steve wanted to come over to my house and "Inspect" but did not show up for the appointment. They guarantee their quotes and they have insurance to cover broken items. When I called him back, he was slimy and said that I was not trustworthy. I sent an invoice and no response. Never heard back

On the day of my move I was given a different price and I had to pay $1,107.75 more. This was unacceptable when he had already given me a price. I had another company come in with a comparable quote but I chose to use Sterling Van Lines as my fiancé had used them before. They have been contacted by phone at least six times with no reply back. A letter was also sent to the company December 11, 2014 and no response. I have an itemized list of damages with photos and I also had items missing. I do not know why they can't respond to rectify damages and lost items.

They were on time, took the whole cabinet apart because it was glass and mirrors and were careful with the upholstered and antique pieces. They carried it in to the home in VA and placed it also. This is a very good company.
