Extraordinary professionalism and precise results both on the patio and the conversion of the porch to a beautiful sunroom. Vic does almost one hundred percent of his own work. We could not be more pleased.

The service was great - Vic was very professional and did a great job.  He was replacing a set of stairs from our kitchen to the backyard.  I asked him to match another set of stairs from our porch to our backyard and he did that exactly.  I was very happy with his service.  He completed the work when he said he would, even though it was a very cold two days he worked. The quality is excellent.  I would highly recommend him.

Mr. Pigulewsky Build an amazing cedar pergola in my patio! It's is not a simple pergola, he put detail and care to it. Day 1.  The Contractor arrived when he stated he would - removed the old split rail fence hauled away.  Hurray it was a mess.  
He than marked where the new posts would be installed.   
Day 2.  Arrived early as planned and started digging the holes for the fence posts.   Which he dug by hand with a 
post hole tool. When the holes were  finished it was now time to set the posts align them and make positive they were
level.   When he was positive they were level the posts were installed and cement was added to keep them in place. 
Now it was time to start adding the 2 x 4's , which the pickets will be added to.
Day 3.  Added all the pickets - built the gates - one a double and the second a single.   And lastly  the pickets where trimmed 
into a scalloped finish.   It looks wonderful I love it and recommend Solid Work Contracting.

I met Vic, the sole owner, in 2007, at which time he installed windows and sliding glass doors in a friend's house.  I actually assisted him in minor ways, and was greatly impressed by him and the quality of his work.  I noticed that the lumber, doors and windows he installed were quality materials.  I had not seen better.  Some months later, I contacted him and asked if he would be interested in helping me in restoring /refurbishing a house which I was interested in purchasing.  He agreed.  I bought the house, and for more than a year we knocked out and moved walls; cut out windows and installed new floor- to-ceiling windows; installed bay windows; installed new kitchen cabinets and appliances; installed hardwood floors; built a 22x22 sunroom addition; and did other work that doesn't come to mind at the present.  After settling in my "new home," Vic and I built a raised patio (block and paver) around the sunroom, built a pergola, and built a substantial shed.
In addition to doing work for me, in the last couple of  years Vic built a full bathroom in my daughter's home in Burke, and built 2 bedrooms in the basement of my step-daughter's home in Fairfax.
Vic specializes in building decks, porches, and installing doors and windows.  He is a "master of design."  He is quite creative and can design most anything.  He uses only quality materials, and if he takes on a job, he knows how to do it.  His charges are commensurate with the work he does and the materials he uses.
Now, I must confess...  Vic did most of the work on my house.  I was not knowledgeable enough alone to do the things we did, nor was I physically capable.  I am a retired law enforcement officer, and not really educated in construction.  The decisions to hire Vic and buy the house were mostly based on my perception of Vic's honesty and integrity.  He's very intelligent, and he's a good man.  I'll continue to ask for his help when needed.  One thing else - don't let his accent sway your thoughts negatively about him.  He was born in Poland, but he is an American citizen.  I am proud to have been with him when he got his citizenship certificate.  If others in the construction business were like Vic, perhaps there would be less need of Angie's List.

After Vic built our deck, we couldn't wait to get him to do some other projects in our house. Since we were completing the basement remodel at that time, we decided to hire Vic to put in a basement bathroom. He did such an excellent job, we decided to also ask him to remodel our two other bathrooms. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. From bathroom fan installation, through popcorn ceiling removal, tile installation, and all the way to accessories, Vic listened to what we needed done and made it happen. I think one of the defining moments came when we saw him reinforce one of the walls with additional studs in order to prevent it from wrapping in the long run. If he had skipped this step, we would have never known.  Seeing him pay attention to the long term concerns shows that he cares about the quality of his services and that he takes deep pride in his craftsmanship.

The final product exceeded all our expectations. This was a rather challenging project: we own a townhouse and our yard is very small. However, we wanted to make the best use of the space. Vic provided exactly what we wanted even though he had to accommodate numerous utility services and access to the basement egress window. We were extremely impressed with his creative approach, his craftsmanship, and the speed at which the project was completed. We talked to four other contractors and none of them had the know-how and the imagination necessary to fit our design into the limited space. Vic found the way. His solution not only fitted all our needs but also easily passed all the inspections. And we couldn't be more pleased with the results. We truly love our deck now and even more so after numerous compliments from our neighbors and guests. We also never regretted choosing composite material, it's durable and requires almost no maintenance. As for Vic, after this experience, he was our go to guy for all other projects. 

Slawek the owner of the company is very prossional and hard worker. He has been working almost every day for long hours to make sure everything is completed in a timely manner.
what differenciate Slawek( Solid Work Contracting ) from others, the quality of his work.  Everyone who came to my house had actually admired his work to include the neigbors and are requesting that he provides with estimates for work they need around their homes.
As for the price - you pay for what you get. It appears that he uses the best materials within the customers' budget to include any other suggestions that he offers to his customers.
I will definitley  will use him again for any future fixtures around my house.

Vic, the owner, has built about 50 screen porches and decks and it shows because he is very knowledgeable about the material choices and the options.  He advised me to make it bigger - I had asked for a porch about 10 feet by 16 and he said once it is done people usually wish it were bigger.  I was glad I followed his advice about it. 
Vic works very quickly.  For my job, he had one helper.  He does more than was required by Fairfax County building inspectors (though he wanted me to pull the building permit in my name, and I was okay with that. We went together to the Herrity building. It took about 2 hours). He went out of his way to accomodate my request for wood tone materials rather than white (there is some Trex type material).  He is flexible about changes (I started with 4 skylights, but as the cathedral ceiling went up, and I asked for 6, and he was okay with that and reasonable about negotiating the extra charge).  There were also some finishing changes that came up and he was very reasonable negotiating those.
 
Vic is easy to work with.  He is professional and  very punctual.  He's originally from Poland, but his English is excellent.
During the time this project took place my dishwasher died, and he even offered to buy a new one and intstall it - which I took him up on.  It was really above and beyond what was required, and it shows that he is very sensitive to what the customer wants or needs, even if the customer hasn't quite figured it out yet.
I plan to remodel my kitchen and he will be the first person I call. I always get at least three estimates, but Vic is very competent and does very solid work.  His prices are reasonable. He works hard.  My experience with him is that he is very honest.  It is very likely I will hire him for the kitchen remodeling. 
To see a sample of the screen porch, I went to his house in Prince William to see it.   It's slightly different from mine, but it gives you the idea.

Went better than I ever expected.  Started as a painting job but as things went so well he remodeled three bathrooms redid the lighting of the entire office, Rebuilt the fence around the building, repaired wooden railings, repaired the roof, repaired and rebuilt the retaining wall.  Basically, this guy does it all and does it all GREAT!!!   At a very reasonable rate.  After we had solid work contracting complete multiple jobs on our building many of the staff that works in the building hired him to do repairs, maintenance and even build a large deck at their own home.     Again, this guy was punctual, reasonable, professional, and provided the highest level of quality of workmanship I have seen in many years.

We can always count on Vick to do a great job at a fair price and we are always happy with the work that he performs.  He is a friendly, honest guy who goes above and beyond to make sure that his customers are satisfied.  Vick really has an eye for detail and often makes helpful suggestions in respect to our various home improvement projects.  He is very prompt in returning our calls, his work is completed on schedule, and he is always willing to provide ideas to help us stay within our budget.

Solid Work Contracting is one of the best kept secrets in the Northern Virginia Area when it comes to home repairs, custom construction, and general contracting.  Vick really does not do much advertising and he really does not need to? Nearly all of his business comes from previous clients and word of mouth referrals.  If you have a home improvement need you should certainly call Vick for a free estimate.
