M&M Professional Landscaping Inc
About us
We are a family owned and operated landscape company that has been in business since 1989. From very humble beginnings, M&M Professional Landscaping has grown to be one of the premier landscape companies in Northern Virginia. The company was founded in 1989 by Trent Morris while he was in high school. Based out of his parents garage, he would mow lawns every day after school until it was dark. What started as a small handful of houses on his parents street in McLean soon became many properties spread out across McLean, Great Falls and Vienna. Clients recognized Trent’s drive to provide a superior level of service at an affordable price. Although the company has grown tremendously over the past 25 years, not much has changed. We still strive to provide the same level of quality and customer experience that made Trent successful in the beginning.

"You insisted that we install "vents" in the firepit for "airflow", although we advised against this. We informed you that by opening the walls of the firepit, the exposure to the elements and freeze thaw cycle would compromise the masonry, leading to cracking. These "vents" are clearly visible in all of the pictures that you have posted on social media including google, facebook, houzz and the BBB. You insisted so we installed these "vents" against our better judgement. We have never built a firepit this way, recommended against building it this way, and will never build it again this way in the future. To date we have built over a 100 firepits and this was the only firepit we have ever had fail in any way. The "vents" you advised and directed our teams to install are the reason your firepit has failed. We have informed you of this and you are aware that it was your "engineering" that caused the failure. In spite of this we have honored our warranty and fixed your firepit. It has now been 9 years, and you are blasting us on social media after we have fulfilled our agreement with the warranty of your custom firepit."
"Thank you for your review!"
"We are sorry that you are unhappy with our firm. You have informed us very well of that since you have posted your negative reviews on Facebook, Houzz, Google and Yelp, in addition to Angie's List. We use nothing but the highest quality plant material from our vendors, so your claim that we planted "ill" trees in the first place is incorrect. We have attempted to resolve the issue with you, but you were unwilling to compromise from your demand that we reimburse you for the trees, even though the agreement that you signed states that we will replace them."
We were not high priority on this company's list. There were several weeks this past year when we did not receive mowing service even after I called. When rain prevented service on our regular day, they did not provide service on a subsequent day, when weather allowed service.
And we were supposed to have our lawn fertilized by early November. They finally got to us in January. January. The ground was frozen. I had called in November and December. They promised to get to us soon, but stated removing leaves was their priority. (Not mine. I didn't pay extra for this service). Again it didn't happen until January.
The technician who performed the work did a fine job.
The Service Rep however was not responsive to my calls after the contract was signed. In speaking to the staff at the main number, I was confident that my service rep was never in the office--like he was a subcontractor for them. I could only get him if I called a personal number. The work was supposed to include reseating/cementing 3 additional posts. Because with the few repairs they did, the fence looked okay; they never cemented in the additional posts, yet I was charged for the full price.
I had made it very clear that I needed to be called in advance of any work in my yard. The first visit for the technician to look at the job, I was given notice. After many weeks of no call saying when they were coming to actually do the work, I looked outside and realized they had already been there....no notice, and no follow-up about the job.
My husband wanted me to call and ask for a price reduction since the contracted job was not done, but frankly, it was so hard to reach the service rep that I opted for a bad review vs wasting my time trying to reach him.
"Our records showed that we were in fact at your home and did perform the services in question. The manager was not yelling at you and was in fact quite nice, however his message was sent in all caps which was why you may have interpreted that as "yelling at you". He had a habit of doing this and for that we apologize. We also gave you a refund for the services in question."
"Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We greatly appreciate your business!"
Chris is extremely professional and a joy to work with. At the start of this most recent project he presented us with his vision along with a detailed rendering of what everything would look like upon completion. We just did our walk through today and it everything looks great.
Start to finish the project took probably 6 weeks, but that was expected and there were some delays due to weather.
Throughout Chris was responsive to questions and helped keep us posted regarding progress.
I would recommend M&M to anyone considering a landscaping project.
"Thank you for taking the time to post a review for us. It was a pleasure working with you guys! Everything came together just as we had envisioned and I hope you guys enjoy your space for years to come! -Chris"
"We are sorry to hear that your experience with our company is now considered regretful. We strive to make all of our clients happy, and as you can see from the feedback on Angie’s List, we are successful a very high percentage of the time. Angie’s List provides M&M with many strong referrals, so we take your recent negative review very seriously. After reviewing e-mails sent to M&M, it seems as though you were very happy with your landscape at the end of the initial installation ($75,000) and even signed up for additional work! On 12/18/2012 you wrote an email to Shannon stating “We have been extremely pleased with the work and service and think it would make sense to have your crews to continue to maintain the property in the future provided the pricing is competitive.” This is why your recent post on Angie’s List has us confused; it seems that you were very happy with your project and then 2 years later such a negative review surfaces. If you really believe that we deserve an “F” rating, then why did you sign up for a maintenance program once the project was completed? Clients such as yourself that sign up for maintenance programs after the installation project has been completed are generally very happy clients. Regarding your maintenance review, we understand that you were ultimately not happy with the level of service provided for your property. However, from the beginning of your signed maintenance agreement until present, M&M Lawn Care has not received a single payment towards your landscape maintenance services! Being put into this situation there were times we were faced with a decision to either service a nonpaying customer’s property or to service a paying customer’s property. Some might describe this as spotty service, but most reasonable people would understand this as a sound business decision. Honestly, we were taken aback to find a negative review for services which have never been paid for. We continued to service your property because we want all of our outdoor spaces to flourish! Within your review you had referred to your irrigation system as being “low-quality”. I can assure you we use the same high quality brand name parts, such as Rain Bird and Hunter, that other respected irrigation installers trust. If there was a mechanical issue with your system this is the first we have heard of the problem. We reached out to you 2 weeks ago about this, so that we may rectify the problem but still have not heard anything from you. And lastly, in response to your comment to our price point being high “about equal to the best providers out there”, we would like to respond and say that we are one of the best providers out there and our other reviews would reflect that."
"Thank you for taking the time to post. We are looking forward to getting started!"
