I was in a time (and weather) crunch to get some pressure washing and exterior painting done. Ivan was able to come out and give me an estimate and start work within a couple of days. He was on time and did a fantastic job with washing my brick work and painting my exterior fence to meet my HOA requirements. The guys were professional and I will definitely be calling them to do future work.

were hard to reschedule for another job after the initial experience.

I knew at the time of the estimate that I was going to hire him.  He told me things about the laminate flooring and the paint to be used that was very helpful to me.  These things were not told to me by two other contractors whom I interviewed.  He took his time to select the best type of paint for me (I have alot of allergies and am very sensitive to paint smells).  We never smelled the paint he used.  This was a big plus for my health.  He also explained how the laminate flooring could shrink/expand with the temperatures and took it upon himself to put the flooring in his own home for a few days (we did not have the room in our condo).  We had a few drywall issues that he took care of and we could not tell where those areas were after he was done.  His crew was curtious and very polite and quiet.  They worked hard and very diligently.  They cleaned up each of the three days they were in our condo.  We were very pleased with his work both for the painting and the flooring.  He removed a hard wood floor in a hallway and took extra steps to blend in the existing flooring in the living room and bedroom and elimated the need for two trusholds.  We did not ask this of him but we are so pleased he did it and a great job!  He also took the time to find similar flooring that we had in my living room.  We really appreciated that.  He also knew we had a deadline for getting the work done as we were getting bedroom furntiure delivered the next day and he worked is crew until they were done.
We had asked him to install security rails in the bathroom and he explained why he could not - most contractors would have just told me no  or done it and let us deal with the consequenes.
Overall, we are really happy with his work and his work ethics.  We plan to hire him again for more projects.
After a week, he called to see if we were happy and was there any touchups that needed to be done.  We only had one small issue that he said he would take care of it.

I have used M&D Home repair and remodeling on three ocassions now.   My projects have been small.   I have had a powerwashing deck repair, electrical repair and my outdoor lamp post repair after it hurricane Sandy winds.    The ower Ivan Mora, is very responsive and polite. I feel very comfortable with him.   He has always done what he said that he would do.  Each estimate has been very reasonably priced for the project.    For the deck washing he told me that I did not need to be home. When I got home the deck looked wonderful.  We did the entire transaction  over the phone, email and mail.  I had not even met him until a later repair.  With the lamp post repair he was able to come out immediately to view the situation.  I had to get a new pole, which Ivan ran around to find for me.  Once he had this, the repair was done in about 45 minutes.  I  plan to use him for an interior painting project.    Ivan is now my official go to handy man.  Thank you Ivan for such wonderful service.

I have no complaints at all with their work.  I would hire them again.

Overall work was OK quality

We paid for a deck cleaning, and told them that we also had a few boards
that needed replacing and wanted to have the deck sealed and stained.
They cleaned the deck - mostly. They said they had to come back at a
later date to replace the boards and stain the deck, and said they'd
finish cleaning then too (there was some mildew they wanted to scrub
off)....we tried to schedule their return date 3 times, and due to
weather and then later their decided lack of interest, they never came
back.

The workman showed up on time and worked his butt off.  It is an old deck and had not been power washed for 10 years.  He did a great and very through job.  I would hire them again to work for me.

M&D submitted by far the lowest bid for the work. They completed the work on schedule. All work was of high quality. They also initiated a few fix-ups for free. Clean-up was immaculate. Demeanor was pleasant and exemplary.

I highly recommend M & D. They were at an advantage price-wise via the big deal. Ivan was professional and personable, as was his crew.Time will tell how durable the paint job was, but immediately after, it looks good.

Ivan was very professional and offered a reasonably affordable solution.  Our deck is an original installed in 1984, so it is quite old.  We cleaned and re-stained it a year or two ago, but some boards were splitting away.  Some parts had actually fallen off, so the deck was no longer safe.  Ivan came out and gave us an appraisal. Within a few days he sent us a quote.  They were very busy so it took a few days to get the repair scheduled, but they came when they said they would and finished quickly with minimal disturbance.   I was wondering whether I needed to replace the entire thing or just repair.  Ivan walked me through various things to consider, i.e., he inspected for any rotting or split supports, whether the attachments to the house were secure, etc.  I was happy to find that with some bolt tightening, replacement of a few boards, etc. we wouldn't need to do an entire replacement.  I can probably get another 5-10 years out of what is an old deck.  I thought their price was fair, so I did not feel like I needed to get a second quote. 
The repair consisted of replacing a side rail that had come detached, replacing a few boards that had spit, re-attaching detached rails, etc.  Ivan's work was better than the original in terms of solid construction.  They used screws to re-attach pieces that were originally nailed and that had come off.  He also applied glue between boards and filled in areas that were not longer aligned well due to warping over time, so it looked more smooth and flush. The only issue was that the wood they installed was still a little green, so they had to wait for it to dry a bit more before they stain it.  That meant a couple weeks with untreated wood, but eventually the job got done.  If I were to do it over again, I would have asked him to replace the floor boards, which have some splintering and cracking still.  However, it wasn't mandatory and Ivan was consientious to keep the overall cost low.  I felt comfortable with the "not over-do it" approach.  Overall a fine job, it's in better condition now than it had been in years with a couple boards replaced and some solidifying.

They were fabulous! I thought they were meticulous, cleaned up well, were polite and came when they said they would. They did a great job.

Very responsive, communicated great via email and fit my job into a tight schedule.  Planning to use them again for our front stoop when I have the time and money to make that happen.

Ivan and another technician came out on April 20th to wash the deck, then returned the following week to do the resealing (after everything had had a chance to dry).  Service was prompt and professional, and we would hire them again.

Great job. Ivan is super and really gets the job done.  I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone.

M&D Home Repairs did a great job with my deck. It had been 5 years so it was very much in need of some care. They pressure washed the deck, waited for it to properly dry and then applied a solid stain to the deck, rails and stairs. All this and they worked within my tight schedule. I am VERY happy with the work they did and I have every intention of using them again for other work around my home. Highly recommended.

It went great! We had to wait a little while to actually get on the schedule. However it was well worth the wait. They showed up exactly when they were supposed to and completed the job in 3 days. Additionally there was only one day when we could not walk in the kitchen. I was at work while they did the work and felt completely comfortable with them in my house. The floor and backsplash look great and the price was extremely reasonable. Ivan is very professional and knowledgeable.

The company did a good, thorough job and cleaned up well afterwards. However, I booked this Angie's Coupon Deal in March and they didn't come out until later in June. It took several phone calls to get them out here. The problem was that I live in Gaithersburg and the company is based in VA, and they said they needed more clients in my area before a trip out my way would be worth their while. I should have looked at the company's location before I booked.

Overall it went very well. The power washing was done on schedule and we were very happy with the result. At that time we discussed replacing the few places where nails had come lose as well as the condition of the boards. It was my understanding the subject nails would be replaced with screws, one very short board on the railing that was split would be repaced, and the deck would be stained to an agreed color. This additional work was delayed for about three weeks due to weather. There was then some confusion over whether we or they were to purchase the stain and also as to the chosen color. Unfortunately I did not insist on these being put in writing. I accept this was partly my fault but it accounts for why I have not given top marks for professionalism. After the application of the first coat of stain we were not sure of the color and Ivan offered to do it again at just the cost of materials. I decided, however, it was OK and he completed did a second coat to ensure it was completely even. He did not replace the loose nailsbut simply hammered them down again and also did not replace the small split board. I did not push this because again I had not had him specify exactly what he would do in writing and it had been three weeks since we had verbally reached agreement on the work.
Despited the above Ivan and his team took great  care to do as good a job as they could and I have absolutely no complaint as to the quality of their work. Ivan genuinely wants his customers to be happy with his work and is willing to go the extra mile to achieve this.

They were prompt and were deligent in their work.  Thorough. Cleaned up after their work. I had wished that communication had been easier as I tried to point out a few of our concerns for the chemicals to be used but couldn't get a full answer because of language barriers. I was able to read about the chemicals my self to get my concerns answered. The deck really looked great, a 100% improvement.  The cyprus wasn't damaged or deteriorated by the power-wash.  I would call them back again to do our house siding as well.  They were not contracted for any handiman type repairs only deck washing.

The work was very professionally completed and finished on time. We are very happy with the result, and plan to use M&D Home Repairs & Remodeling when we update our kitchen. I was most impressed with Ivan's knowledge and willingness to answer any questions we had, even if it did not relate to something that he was specifically working on. He was very patient with us when it came to picking colors that would look good in the space, and we relied on him to a lot for deciding the types of paint to use in different areas.

It was a standard deck cleaning. I have no complaints with the service. The price was also reasonable because of the deal I received. They also had to return and came back at no additional cost because someone shut off my water.

I hired M&D based on the Angie's List recomendation and the price they quoted based on my messurements and pictures sent by email.  I never actually met anyone as I work 60 miles from home so all our communication was by phone and email.  Ivan and Pillar were very responsive and provided excellent communication.  Their crews did a great job and the work was completed without incident.  With the spring rains, it was necessary to reschedule the deck staining numerous times unil the wood was dry.  This was handled very professionally!! 
I owned a large home remodeling company for 10 years and feel their service was exemplary.

M&D did a wonderful, thorough job.  We had weather issues that delayed the service, but Ivan was spot on in keeping an eye on the weather for when it would be OK to start the work.  Then he was as careful to schedule the stain and seal work to allow for the deck to dry before he started.  Once he finished the painting and staining, he came back to touch up his work.  He made sure that the coverage was complete, and that we were satisfied.  What I liked best was that he LISTENED to what we wanted done, and performed the tasks requested.  We UNDERSTOOD what each other was saying (In other words, his English and my Spanish were sufficient to communicate efficiently).  Having said that, we could have handled the discussion of cost better.  There was confusion as to what was covered in Angie's Deal and what would be extra.  But overall, the price was good and we have no problem recommending his service to others.
