JOHNSON'S POLAR AIR CONDITIONING & HEAT

Our gas fireplace stopped working, so I asked a friend who recently had a repair done for a recommendation, if they were happy. Johnson’s Polar Air was the recommendation and “ask for Mike.” I neglected to ask for Mike when I called, but Mike was the one who came out. I was given a window of arrival, and Mike and his helper showed up on time. They diagnosed the issue (bad sensor on the pilot light), explained what was wrong, and that they would need to order a part. I paid for their visit and they called the next day with information about how much the part and installation would cost. I agreed. When the part came in, I received a phone call to schedule the repair, and they were out the next day. Not only did they install the new part, they ensured that all the logs were back in place, changed the battery in the remote sensor, and tested the fireplace to make sure it worked properly before leaving. In these times of COVID, they also wore masks the entire time as well as shoe covers. After all was completed, Mike had me look at the fireplace to make sure all was satisfactory before he gave me any paperwork. The cost was exactly as quoted. I’ll be using this company again in the future.

great experience, as always. (i have been using johnson and polar for about 15 years, through troubleshooting, HVAC system replacement 12 years ago, and twice-yearly maintenance.) they always arrive in scheduled window; they diagnose problems like my current one (32-year-old valve) correctly; and they fix the issue the first time. i especially appreciate that there is staffing continuity and we usually have the same great technician, who is familiar with our system and its quirks, and i talk to the same lady in the office. pricing is transparent and quite fair.

I purchased a Carrier heat pump from them in 2008. It has had some expensive problems that were not covered by warranty and this spring the compressor started having problems. Rather than replace the compressor, they installed a hard start compressor ($250 installed). Two weeks later the compressor locked up. They quoted $1400 labor to replace a compressor that was covered under warranty. When asked if they would credit the hard start kit whose value was extremely questionable they refused. 
Got three other quotes on the warranty install of the compressor and they were the highest (30% higher than the average). While I have been happy with their tech and their responsiveness over the years, they didn't return my loyalty. After making the profit on the original install of the heat pump and the repairs out of warranty ($1000+), they chose to make me pay for the tech's decision to install a temp fix that the other companies said was ill advised. Instead of offering some sort of credit towards another opportunity to charge me $1400 in labor, they decided to play hardball. 
This is short-sighted and shows little concern for customer service or loyalty.

I called them to get a second opinion on a dying heat pump on a Monday morning.  They came out the same afternoon, evaluated the unit and gave an honest (matching) opinion.  They clearly explained the problem and options (repair, replace).  They promised a quote for replacement with options the next morning, and I had it by 8:30 AM.  Would absolutely recommend them.

I am satisfied with them. It works so they seemed to do a pretty good job. I don't know what others might have charged for the same thing. They came fairly promptly given that it was summertime. They came a little bit later than they said, but not enough to be a problem. He knew what was needed and told us. He acted professionally.

Johnson's Polar installed the Carrier AC system about 4 years ago. They did so on one of the hottest days in the summer when the family was suffering when the AC quit. They did the job quickly and professionally while I was overseas.
This time it took over a week to get someone out but I called around and everyone was quoting the same response due to high volume. The tech found the problem quickly and had to oder a part. Unfortunately when he returned the part was not correct and it took another day to get the right one installed. A month later all is good. I would have rather not have had to wait for two weeks to get it fixed but the company is professional and the tech extremely courteous.

I am very pleased with the quality of the work performed and the professionalism of the employees, Jose and Malik, who took great pains to protect my house from the possibility of tracking in grass, mud and water droplets while they had to go in and out of the house, in the pouring rain, to complete the job. They arrived within the estimated window for beginning the job, and the job was completed within the estimated time (and lt; 4 hours) for the estimated price. We've been customers of Johnson's Polar Air for nearly 14 years for regular servicing, and replacement of, our central heating and air conditioning, and called them first for this dryer vent job. I have great confidence I'll never have another issue with the dryer venting. I highly recommend this company for all HVAC and related work!

The representatives of Johnsons are always courteous and on time. They always ask about any issues or problems before beginning the inspection.

After visiting their shop in order to buy an air filter, I invited them to my house to bid on the reinstallation of the mis-installed furnace.

Their representative was personable, professional, informed and informative.Their proposal was very much congruent with those of other similar vendors with the notable exception of being dramatically more detailed, thorough, and unfortunately, two thousand dollars more expensive.

Nevertheless, I was impressed by their conduct and work product, so much so that I invited them to propose on the renewal of our water heating system.

I then received a very cordial call from the owner politely declining to pay us this visit, based on having heard from his secretary that we had had the furnace work performed by another firm but based on their proposal.

Decidedly not so. I sought out five count em five proposals, though not all proved deliverable within my timetable.
I went with Snell, a high-rated company, based on price and the details of the proposal, which were essentially identical to Polar.
But 2k cheaper.

I cannot begin to imagine what that secretary was smoking. I suspect that Snell Heating and Air conditioning would have a healthy laugh at the suggestion that they would perform work based on another company's proposal.

Polar is seemingly a very impressive outfit, shooting themselves in the foot by allowing someone with evidently inferior communication and analytical skills to inform their decision making.

We have used them for years and years. They do excellent work. They are very accurate. They have been an excellent company.

I was really disgusted with them and what they did. What kind of maintenance is it if they don't change the filters? I was not pleased at all, but I have to say that my husband does like them and he thinks that they are wonderful.

While a bit of a wait to get an appointment, it was worth the wait. Prompt, and professional, the technician was efficient and adept at getting the errant air ducts correctly sealed. He also offered good advice on maintenance and filters. We will always use Johnson's Polar for our Heating and A/C needs.

I HAVE USED JOHNSON'S FOR YEARS. THEY ARE PRETTY QUICK TO COME OUT FOR REPAIRS OR FOR ROUTINE SEASONAL CHECKS OF MY HOMES HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM. I AM JUST PLEASED ALL AROUND WITH THEIR WORK.
