Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto
About us
Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto – We are a multi-generational family business that provides a full-service solution for all of your automotive and repair needs; ranging from tire replacement and inspections, to maintenance packages. Our story begins in 1984, when John F. Hogan Jr opened our first store in Leesburg, VA. John knew the importance of building relationships with partners and customers alike. He leveraged his history with Goodyear to establish Hogan & Sons as a direct dealer for Goodyear. Today, we remain one of the select few direct dealers in the country, and have expanded our geographical footprint, serving the communities of Fairfax, Falls Church, Herndon, Leesburg, Purcellville, South Riding, Sterling, and Winchester. Although our business has grown, we still value the relationships that we have developed over the 30 years we have been in business. We pride ourselves on providing a personalized relationship with each of our patrons, delivering high-quality workmanship and a customer centric approach that develops a rapport between our team of professionals and your family. At Hogan & Sons, we know that automobile problems can be frustrating and inconvenient. Let us take on the stress of repairing your vehicle, while you relax and enjoy free premium coffee and Wi-Fi in our customer lounge, or use our shuttle service to chauffer you to and from work. We are your complete solution for tires and routine maintenance, keeping your vehicle healthy and your family safe.

"Hi [Member Name Removed] - Thank you for taking a moment to share your feedback after a recent visit to our shop. I am very sorry to hear about your experience, as our team of professionals work with each patron to ensure your vehicle is in accordance with the regulations issued by the State of Virginia. There is a difference between a courtesy check (multi-point inspection) and a Virginia State inspection. Our inspectors must apply the law in order to ensure vehicles meet the minimum requirements. Your vehicle, which arrived at our shop with 226,000 miles did not pass inspection. Our staff member walked you through each item and why it was necessary to replace in order to pass inspection. From a tire perspective, the steel wire was visible on more than one tire. Our team brought your vehicle up to code so that it would pass inspection. If you chose to do the work elsewhere, we by law, would have to put a failed inspection sticker on the car until the work gets completed and is re-inspected at our shop. Once again, I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. We were forthright, direct and candid on the repairs necessary for your vehicle, which were ultimately approved by you prior to us commencing the work."
"Hi [Member Name Removed] - Thank you for the "A" rating and referral. We truly appreciate your business and the positive endorsement of our Sterling location. It there is anything we can do to improve our service, please let us know. Thank you once again for the great rating."
I'm pretty sure I had been overpaying for everything though.
After the transmission quote, i don't think I would ever go back. They lost my trust.
"Hi Angies List Member - Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I would like to apologize for responding so late, as we make all attempts to reach out to the customer when an issue like this occurs at one of our locations. Our team of professionals are highly qualified to work on all makes and models, from oil changes to new engines. Our pricing of products and services for most work orders is very competitive in the market. However, there are a few jobs, which require specialized tools, that can be higher than our competition. Depending on the vehicle, transmissions can range from $3,000 to $15,000. When a ticket reaches this type of dollar amount, it may be beneficial to get a second opinion. I am surprised that we did not recommend this from the start, as transmissions can be very complicated, which is why there are specialty businesses like AAMCO that work specifically on transmissions. I hope that you do reconsider our services in the future, as we are an honest repair shop that focuses on keeping your car on the road and out of the shop. Thank you once again for giving us the opportunity to quote your transmission."
"Hi [Member Name Removed] - Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We rely on our customer base to provide valuable feedback on each of our locations to improve our overall service. Our team is always out for your best interest. If we can fix a part rather than replace it, we know that means valuable savings to the customer. I am very pleased to see our Sterling location was able to correct the problem and get your car back on the road. Thank you for supporting our local business."
The alignment and tire installation was done while I shopped in the neighboring stores which is very convenient.
