This was a nightmare.  Gabby (owner) came over and gave us a bid promptly.  We reviewed a contract and paid a 50% deposit.  Didn't start on time.  Had to call a couple times to find out where the crew was.  Finally got one guy on the job for a few days a couple hours a day dawdling along not getting much done.  Called the owner, Gabby, after the first week and requested a meeting.  He no-showed the first time, showed up at the wrong time the second time and finally, a week later, on the 3rd try, we met.  I fired him and requested my money back.

After lots of hemming and hawing he promised to get the whole crew on the job right away and get going as long as I didn't sue him or file a complaint.  They finally started showing up and making some progress but kept relapsing back into the habit of no-showing and then just having 1 or 2 guys on the job.  We were told at the outset it would be about a 3 week job (consistent with the 3 other bids we had).  Didn't get done until Thanksgiving (about 8-9 weeks).

The paver work is fair at best.  Half of the plants that were planted died.  Left a big oil stain on my nice paver driveway from his bobcat.  Never cleaned that up despite being told explicitly on the day it happened to fix it.   Now, (spring 2016) we have to have an irrigation guy and landscaper taking care of the dead plants and the drip system that didn't get hooked up correctly and tested last fall.  We have called him multiple times over the past 3 weeks trying to get him over here.  He no-showed once and doesn't return calls now.

You are smart if you're looking at Angies list to review this guy but do not be fooled by the low bid.  You get what you pay for.  This dude is an absolute nightmare to work with.

We've used Hernandez throughout the summer to cut grass off and on (a very reasonable $35 for 1/4 acre).   Only down side was the fall leaf removal.  They did a great job for $125, but gave me the impression that the 125 covered an initial removal and then a final one, once all the leaves fell.  Well they did the initial, then said it would be another 125 to come finish a couple weeks later (turned that down and did it ourselves).  But we have also used them to trim trees, remove old concrete and more.
