GAV THE PAINTER

Gav painted the entire interior of our 8,000 square ft home in less than two weeks. He and the team took down and/or covered all light fixtures, towel bars, light switches and flooring before starting the job; then provided 2 coats of paint on everything (ceilings, walls, trim). The work was very well done!

The work was completed over about 10 days due to frequent weather (rain) interruptions. Several additional painters were added to get the work done to take advantage of a dry day. All were very pleasant to deal with and all spoke good English. They cleared up after themselves and left the place tidy after each work period.
This is the third time over 10 years that we have had GAV THE PAINTER paint the exterior of our house and we have always been very pleased with the result and the experience. The secret is in the diligent prep work together with the use of good quality paint.
We have also used GAV THE PAINTER for extensive interior painting and always been very pleased with the results.
Many of our neighbors have been sufficiently impressed that they now also employ GAV THE PAINTER for their exterior and interior requirements.

Gav first came and constructed an estimate. He concurred with a type of paint that was previously recommended to us. We chose the colors, but he picked them up. He painted a two tone on the stairwell with box inserts. I was unsure of the color, so he painted it twice so I could choose (at no extra cost). He also painted a two-story accent wall and the opposite accent wall. He had to paint around custom book cases, many kitchen cabinets, and a two-story stone fireplace. The job was done efficiently and with no damage to any furniture or appliances. Gav and his assistant used drop cloths throughout and cleaned up perfectly. Gav is very pleasant and a joy to have as a contractor. I was pleased and impressed. I would definitely use him again.

I was preparing my brick house for sale. I needed fresh paint on the window sills and needed to put a neutral color in the family room that was painted a brick red color. Gav quickly assessed the window sills and found a few areas where the wood was beginning to show signs of wood rot. Gav repaired the wood rot and painted the sills. He then painted my family room and adjoining kitchen and butler's pantry. All work was done quickly and efficiently. Gav was very personable and reliable.

Gav and the crew who works for him did an excellent job from start to finsh. I highly recommend him.

All went well- they worked Tuesday and Wed. Gav was there both days. He even repatched a place in the ceiling.

Gav was very professional and really nice. Would have felt comfortable hiring him. However, after coming out to see the scope of work, he took much longer to provide an estimate than the other company I contacted. I was satisfied with other company's estimate and moved forward.

We were very pleased with Gav and his crew. When he came to the apartment to give us an estimate, he was very professional. He was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. For example, he agreed to use screws rather than nails to fix the nail pops. When he gave us his estimate, he outlined the work to be performed in an email to us. We felt his estimate was reasonable and hired him to do the job. He worked us into his schedule within a few days, and started working on the apartment on the date agreed upon. He stayed with the project until it was finished, which was mid-afternoon of the second day. He returned a few weeks later to fix a crack that had reappeared in the kitchen ceiling area. He was very nice about it and did not charge for the work. Overall, we felt that he did a very good job. We did notice a few minor blemishes and a few areas with paint specks and dust from sanding. But these were minor problems, and we would not hesitate to hire him again to paint our rental units.

They were top-notch guys. He personally came out and inspected everything. He helped with colors. The price wasn't too cheap, but they were not high. They were very responsive and came quickly because they had a cancellation.

He did a great job. He is very friendly, professional, and he uses high quality paper stationary. Gav lives down the street from us so I pass his van almost every day. We picked out the colors and he was done with everything in two days.

I did most of the prep work myself, but they finished off a few places that looked bad, then began to paint. I thought it odd they would paint a first coat, then add drywall compound and finish with another coat, but it looked good afterward. Ideally they would have spent a bit more time on some of the blemishes on the walls, but for the price - more than half of other estimates - it was well worth it.

Gav is English and employs 3 others and works with them and is generally on site all the time. All speak English well. He started early, did extra work as requested, touched up as needed, and did an excellent job in 5 days. His price was about half of the "high price" well known painting companies. We were very satisfied with his work.
