I can usually go in and get something done in the same day. I use them when I need to be punctual. Usually they're able to do anything I need done within a few hours. Once in a while they throw in something.
Description of Work: A "check engine" light had come on and he placed oxygen sensors.

I have used them myself for other cars in the past. The owner that I dealt with was Robert and he is so knowledgeable. What I like is he will send me a quote via email and it has everything he's going to do and he has all the parts, and he tells how much the labor is going to be. He is very detail oriented which I love. I know that if I had gone to the Lexus dealership, it probably would have been $2,000 more. They have a year warranty or 15,000 miles for any work that they did. They are really good. They call me back or when I do the email looking for the quote, they would email me which was nice. I recommended them and now my brother-in-law, sister, and nephew have been taking their cars up to Dulles Auto Clinic. I would drop the car off and if he had a chance to order the part beforehand which is in the morning, he said it would take him one day to finish it. We dropped it off there on a Monday night and by Wednesday noon, it was ready. They started Tuesday and we couldn't get there until lunchtime and the car was ready when we got there. He also said that if it's not worth repairing, he would tell me because he doesn't want me to spend money onto something that's not worth repairing. It was really good.
Description of Work: We drove a Lexus to Dulles Auto Clinic that needed to be repaired. We had to go through and find everything and they called us with the quote, and they found all these additional things wrong including the brakes so it was definitely worth it because they did an initial estimate. They found real problems with the brakes. They were able to fix everything and got it reinspected for us.

.I call up and asked the person who answered the phone if they service town and country chrysler vans. He said, yes they do. I tell him I need a thirty thousand mile tune up and a list of five specific things I would like fixed. 1) the side sliding door doesn't respond when button is pushed to open it. 2) the front driver seat heater does not work. 3) leak under car. 4) fan is not working properly. 5) the heater isn't working. The guy I was talking to said okay, when do you want to bring it in? I told him I would drop it off that night. Everything sounds clear so far. I talked to the mechanic the next day and am told the door would cost more than the van is worth to fix and he could not guarantee he could fix the door even if he tried?! The front seat would cost more than the van is worth to fix, the heater works just fine, there is nothing wrong with the fan. I am the only one who drives my van, which is kept in my garage. The van doesn't have a scratch on it. It is as good as new. Spotless and kept out of the elements, no accidents, perfect condition. A little over 30,000 miles. All of the things I listed to be addressed occurred in the last two months for whatever reason. Okay, so don't fix the door or the front seat, I'll take it to the dealer to have those two things fixed. He then proceeds to tell me there is nothing wrong with my heater (other than the fact that it doesn't emit heat) or fan (just a deafening noise but no air coming out of the vents) and that I should just change the position of the open and close dials on the vents. In the first place just turning the heater on warms up the vehicle, but only if the heater is actually working, but the dials on my vents were in the same position they were when i bought the van since I didn't change them but when I noticed neither the heater or fan were working of course I tried adjusting things, turn the fan on higher, lower, opening and close the vents to see if any adjustments would make a difference. Conclusion, no adjustments changed the nonworking condition of the fan or the heater. I do not think that the man who talked to me could have been more condescending and rude. The fan either blows air or it doesn't. The heater either discharges warm air or it doesn't. To tell me whether or not I know if my heater and fan are working or not working, is insulting. When I tried to explain to him that my heater and fan had always worked very well and that the way they were currently performing was drastically different from the way they had performed for the life of the van, his response was he had other things to do then listen to me. Though he did have time to drone on and on about air filters. Which I patiently listened to. My cabin air filter is brand new, bought and installed before taking my van to this shop. If he was under the hood inspecting my engine he should have noticed that I had a new air filter so why waste time, that he said he didn't have to answer any of my questions, on a lecture about what air filters do? So even though I called and ask specifically whether or not they serviced Chrysler town and country vans and gave them a list of things that specifically needed fixing prior to making the appointment then taking off work to take my van to someone other than a dealer to be serviced, nothing was fix on my van that I had spoken to them about in my initial phone call. The fluid leak would have been addressed during the regular 30,000 mile tuneup. So now I'll have to take another day off from work to have my van serviced somewhere else and now I have absolutely no confidence that they performed the tuneup properly if at all. Almost any place that works on cars can do a tuneup. I wasn't looking for a place to do a routine tuneup. I was looking for a place that could service my specific van's needs for the long term, which is why I was very clear in my initial phone call. Total waste of (my time) and money. RESULT So I attempt to pickup my van. When I get to the van I notice that the back door had been disassembled and the parts where laying on the floor. Next I turn on the van to see how the fan was functioning and not to my surprise the fan was still not working properly, but now had two new addition problems. One it would no longer turn off and two it was still running full blast but additionally when turn to the off position it some how revved up the fan even more then in the completely full blast position. So I could not drive the van and had to leave it there. This was Saturday so I had to take another day off from work to pick it up on Monday. I received no apology no reason why my van was returned to me in this condition. They said it was a fuse After approximately 250 miles of driving my van, I'm driving along and people around me are honking and point at my van. I look in my side view mirror and see billows of smoke emanating from the back of my car. I pull off the road into a neighborhood and people come running up thinking my car is on fire. The smoke and the smell of burning rubber is overwhelming. So I had to have my car towed. Dulles Auto and changed my brake pads and in the process had screwed them up. So in the end I had to have another auto garage go over my entire van to see it it was safe to drive. Obviously, I would never recommend Dulles Auto.

They had a web system to schedule the service, but it wasn’t working when I went to schedule. I tried multiple times and kept receiving error messages. I ended up printing the page, and I included it in an email to them. I told them in the email about the scheduling problems, and they did respond 2-3 business days later apologetically. However, I don’t feel that was sufficient, and I had already had the service done by another company.

The shop did an excellent job in just a day or so. The cost was very reasonable. The main mechanic for my work was Rob who is an expert, is very personable, and communicates very well. The staff is very helpful and reminds customers of inspection deadlines each year. This is the fourth time I have used Dulles Auto Clinic in the last year or so and I have been very satisfied every time.
Description of Work: All brake lights on my car did not work. They fixed them. The ball joints on my suspension were bad. They replaced them. My transmission was very hard to shift. They fixed it. My battery was being drained by a slow current leak. They fixed that. They replaced worn wiper blades. They gave the car a wheel alignment. They safety inspected the car and it passed.

I'd been having trouble with my 2007 Cadillac CTS over the previous month, which got gradually worse. The car was sputtering, bucking and misfiring, and was worse in the heat or when I was in stop and go traffic. Up until the day before I took it to the Dulles Auto Clinic, the engine light didn't appear, but when it finally did, I went into a panic, thinking that somehow I ruined my engine. I made the decision to take the day off work so I could take care of it once and for all. I consulted Angie's List and saw high grades for the Dulles Auto Clinic, which is also privately owned and managed by the same man for 20 years, which to me indicates a very good track record. I contacted them and spoke to Rachel who was very helpful and professional and she arranged for me to come right in. She said they could diagnose the problem, but if the parts had to be ordered, they may not be able to fix it till the next day. I got there at 11 a.m., and within a half hour, the owner, Wayne Judd, told me that two of my cylinder ignition coils were shot, so instead of the car running on 6 cylinders, it had been running on four. He said that he ordered the parts and that they'd be there within 20 minutes, and that I'd be out of there in an hour. True to his word, my car was done in due time, and the problem that I was so anxious about was completely fixed. Not only that, I was able to go to work that afternoon. Though the parts were on the expensive side, they were high quality and delivered while I waited, so I can't complain. It was worth it all to have the problem diagnosed and fixed, which was nothing less to me than heroic. As a single woman going into a service shop and waiting room, I think my standards are higher than a man's would be, and I form my opinion on a lot more than just mechanical service. The waiting room was clean and comfortable, and the restroom was downright luxurious! I observed a few of the mechanics and noticed that they were treated well by Wayne and the rest of the staff. They'd come into the waiting room occasionally to get a cold drink, and they were able to open the vending machine like a refrigerator and get what they wanted, which impressed me that an employer would provide this for them. I would recommend this shop to anyone who wants quality workmanship in a respectful, clean atmosphere. I will use them again. Thanks Angie!

Wayne is not a mechanic, he's a magician. He fixed all the issues with my car. It did cost me more than i expected it, but coming from Wayne I was sure he was not going to over charge me. I have recommended Dulles Auto Clinic to all my friends and would recommend it to anyone who want to use them. Excellent Service and your car will run like new. They might be a little expensive

Wanted an inspection done before buying a used truck. They were able to get me in that day. I was extremely happy with them! The receptionist was very friendly, as well as the other people I spoke with. The mechanic who checked the truck was Adam, and he was perfect for the job, as he's a big fan of the type of truck I brought in. Because of that, he was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about it. He took me into the work area and lifted the truck to show me the underside and was very thorough in explaining things to me. He gave me a write up of the few minor things that the truck needed, along with an estimate of the cost of getting the repairs done there. I'll get an estimate from another shop to compare price, but I think I'd have a hard time taking it anywhere else to get the work done, even if it is cheaper, simply because he took such an interest in the truck - I feel like he's sure to do the job right.

I read about Dulles Auto Clinic on Angie's List after googling for local dealers that sold the brand of tire that I wanted. I was very impressed with the reviews I read on Angie's List so I decided to give them a try. I requested on online quote for the tires and received a reply within an hour. I called and scheduled a day to bring my car in. They made everything very easy. I decided to add an oil change and left my car for both things to be done. I received a call within a couple of hours that everything was ready. I picked up the car and was very pleased with the new tires and was happy to have the oil changed. There was one small glitch with the engine light coming on, but after I took my car back they checked it out promptly and found that they had not reconnected a tube that helped monitor the air flow through the air filter. Easy fix. He expressed that he was not happy that I needed to come back to the shop for this and offered me a free oil change the next time I came in. Since I was not angry or upset, his offer of a free oil change was not really something he needed to do. But it certainly shows a commitment to provide superior customer service and I appreciated it. Based on my one experience I will recommend the Dulles Auto Clinic to people I know. The next time I need either of my cars repaired I will most certainly be going back to them.

They were extremely professional and courteous. Rachel and Rob are the two people that I dealt with the most. Rachel put me immediately at ease and Rob was the mechanic. I have finally found an automotive shop that I can trust and will never go anywhere else. They even said I could bring my dogs next time and introduce them to their dog. Thank you so much Angie's list, I would never have found such a great business without you.

They never charge you for anything without your approval. If they make mistakes they pay for that you don't. I've never had a problem with them in the last seven years. I took my car to them three four weeks ago. I needed to have the back light changed because it was intermittent and I got an oil change. It cost about sixty dollars They work on tyres and sell mufflers. They do inspections and transmission services.

The reason they warrant a "C" is from previous visits - last year I paid $1300 to stop an oil leak, and after the repairs, the oil leaks continued (albeit a bit less). When informed of this, they said they would have to steam clean the engine to determine the source of the leaks and to come back later. So they really didn't fix the real problem to begin with.

I did not have an appointment, but arrived early and the work was completed within about an hour and a half. They provided an overview sheet with the results of the inspection, and pointed out a potential issue which didn't require an immediate fix, but might become more serious over time, which was appreciated. I used an Angie's list coupon (free inspection and $20 off the cost of service) but felt that even with the coupon the price was higher than I had anticipated. That said, I felt the service was good and would consider returning for additional service.

Experience started out fine - front desk service was courteous and reasonably quick, they drove me to my office in my car so they could hear the noise I was talking about. Things went downhill from there though. They were supposed to call me in a couple hours after they'd finished the inspection to discuss what needed to be done. I dropped the car off around 9:45 am and still hadn't heard anything by 4:30 pm so I finally called in. I ended up missing an appointment I had that evening because I hadn't been able to get my car back in time. When I called they told me that both the front and rear break pads and rotors needed replacement. I asked if on the rear could they just replace the pads alone (the grinding sound I'd heard had clearly been coming from the front so I was suspicious that the rear rotors needed replacement as well) and the guy on the phone started mumbling about wrenches and how it would be difficult to do one without the other. The price quote he gave me was around $1000 for parts/labor and he said he wouldn't be able to get parts in until tomorrow because parts for my car were hard to come by. I knew this was BS because I have a pretty generic car (2008 Kia Optima). I priced parts online myself and found I could get high quality parts with a longer warranty then they offered for about 1/2 of what they were charging for parts so I asked if they would install parts I purchased myself. He said yes, but there would be an up-charge on installation (to do the exact same service) because they normally make a profit on parts (his words). I asked if they would throw in a tire rotation or alignment since they were already doing work in that area and he said no, especially if I was bringing in my own parts. I decided to get a second opinion so I took my car to another nearby shop the next day (Fallon Automotive). They looked my car over and said that it was only the front pads and rotors that needed replacement. Their cost for parts was about 30-40% less and they also did not up-charge labor if I brought my own parts (they just didn't guarantee the performance, which is pretty standard). I asked if the parts were difficult to obtain for this vehicle and he laughed and said they'd be able to have them at the shop in around 30 minutes. They also gave me a free tire rotation and a discount on alignment adjustment. Ended up paying around $500 total with tax and everything. Long story short: The people at Dulles Auto Clinic seem to be competent enough at their job and they have a nice facility. That said, they employ all the classic tricks to try and squeeze money from their customers. Things like: - bring up other problems and say they aren't necessary to fix right now (to gain the client's trust) - exaggerate difficulty of part acquisition to justify increased costs - assess more repairs than necessary and embellish the need for them I don't doubt that they would have done a good job; they have the certifications to show they know what they're doing. I also think they were reasonably honest, as far as car mechanics go. So if you don't care about cost at all and just want your problem fixed (as well as possibly some other things) then these guys will suit your need. If you don't want to pay 25%+ more than you have to I'd look elsewhere because you can get equally competent service for cheaper.

Description of Work: My 2005 Nissan Altima was over the hill (or so I thought) I took it to Dulles Auto Clinic and like a professional Doctor they fixed my car and even did my Virginia inspection free of cost!

Work was done in a timely manner with no surprises. Waiting area is pleasant with coffee and free Wi-Fi. I wouldn't normally comment on the restroom but it was spotless and looked like it belonged in a home, not an auto shop. For me this was an overall good experience.
Description of Work: 4 Wheel Alignment. Road test vehicle, check all steering and suspension components, check camber, caster and adjust toe in.
