They did excellent work,  The team arrived on time made the repairs and cleaned up afterwards.  This was the 2nd time I have used them (they helped discover the leak that caused the water damage but didn't have the masonry and siding expertise to fix it).  Thiy do excellent work but their rates are a bit on the high side.  Of course you only get quality if you pay for it.

My first interaction was good. Erin, the point of contact listed for Angie's list, was responsive and answered my initial questions about free estimates. She scheduled an estimate and the guy didn't show up (later we found out it was due to an injury); but the second attempt was successful. During the estimate, the guy seemed to know what the problems were and how to fix them. (It was difficult to completely see all causes because the leak was coming from underneath the tile, which had to be pulled up to make the full assessment). Soon after the estimate, we got an estimate and also the breakdown of tasks that were included in the price.  After consulting with my insurance and getting other estimates, I decided to go with them.  Even though they were nearly the most expensive estimate (by a long shot), I appreciated their initial professionalism and responsiveness.  I was told to get my own tile so got the specifications from the Cap. Area Handyman team and purchased that on my own and brought it to my house.
On day one of the project, I stayed home so I could meet the contractors and get comfortable with them in my house. They were supposed to show up at 7:30  am but no one showed. I called Erin and she got another team to come in by close to 11 am. The team that ended up doing the work told me they were one of the best (and by the end product I think they were justified in boasting about their skills) but I did have to go over the contract with them and discuss the problem again, which made me a little nervous at first. I appreciate that Cap. Area Handyman was able to send a new repair team over quickly, but from then on the coordination was always a little confusing and frustrating.
The team consisted of two full-time repairmen. I communicated with my point of contact for the construction team via text and phone. He was usually very responsive but sometimes didn't reply. The repairmen worked quickly to gut my bathroom on the first day. They also noted that the tile I had selected wasn't the correct tile. Later on, after a shopping trip to pick something that would work out, they decided they could cut the tile I had already purchased. It was a relief that we could use my tile afterall but it turned out there was also some bullnose tile that no one had told me I needed until at this point in the project. That being said, since I had to special order the bullnose tile, work was delayed for several days. The crew did what they could in the meantime, but it still delayed completion by at least week, I'd say.
Pros:
The end product was a very lovely bathroom that seems to be in great working order so far.
The team that showed up to work was flexible and willing to work with my needs and concerns. The guys, Daniel, Norberto, and Gustavo, were all very polite and professional.
Cons:
I was really annoyed that I had to pick up my tile only to be told at the last minute I needed a different type of tile instead.
Maybe it's because I'm a novice, but I am still confused about the coordination. I would get different messages from them and it seemed like the 'right hand wasn't talking to the left.' For example, the team would tell me they'd be willing to work with me on a Saturday but Capital Area Handyman said they didn't work on Saturdays, etc. I was also annoyed that I went with the high end price and found the coordination part confusing, stressful, and disappointing. Eventually I communicated with the repair team for the project and only with Erin for payments.

I contacted a few handymen through Angie's list and Capital Area Handyman was the first to get back to me. They were responsive and quick in setting up an estimate. Roberto was there five minutes early for the estimate then also performed the work on the date set for repairs.
Roberto was punctual and professional. He and his coworker finished the work quickly and kept me in the loop when issues arose. They were also careful to clean up the area after the work was done. I really appreciated it.
I would highly recommend Capital Area Handyman and will most likely use them again.

Overall, experience was good.  Crew arrived promptly when promised.  Work came in right at estimate.  They did a good job, though nothing I could be excited about.  For example, the chain they bought to replace one on my door was a terrible match, but when I went to the store with them down the street we got an acceptable one.  The interior painting was completed as scheduled, but the painter didn't feather the new paint into the old to disguise a slight color difference, even though I specifically requested that.

CAH showed up about a week prior to the job, to better provide me with an estimate. Once I received (next business day), I scheduled the maintenance, which they showed up and performed superbly. Technicians and employees were punctual, professional, courteous and thorough. Highly recommend.

Excellent and I would hire them again.  They finished ahead of schedule which is always a plus!  The materials and the work was high quality.  Their staff went out of their way to make sure that I was pleased with their work and often sought my opinion.  This ensured that there were no surprises and that I did not have to ask them to alter their work.  They informed me daily what I could expect and they were true to their word.  It was evident that they care about the quality of the job as the checked and rechecked plumbing, fixtures, etc.  It was a relief to hire a company and have the ability to be confident in their work- I never worried that they'd cut corners, that a fixture wouldn't be installed properly, etc.

Gutting and remodeling a bathroom is messy yet they did their best to clean up daily and the price included a maid service.

The proposal was very detailed and changing certain items was not a problem.

They were fantastic. Showed up on time for the estimate visit, provided a detailed and clear estimate via email later that same day, and then came back on time and as scheduled and completed all the work satisfactorily. When there was a family emergency of the one person, another team came back the next day and finished everything perfectly, just as promised. I would absolutely hire them again, and already have other projects I intend to get estimates on.

They turned around a price estimate within 24 hours, showed up on time, finished the work with out any problems and cleaned up after themselves. The office contacted after the job was done to make sure I was satisfied and they sent me a thank you note. Outstanding!
