We are very happy with the results. The house is almost completely redone. Everything is always completed in a timely fashion. We still plan to have more work done and will definitely work with Begue Contractors. The workers are polite, hard working, and always clean up after the work.

Nelson Begue is the consummate professional. He has a fantastic eye for design and detail, and his crew are true artisans who have worked for many years with Nelson and know how to bring his designs to life. My bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous, and the basement finish involving water-proofing and sealing, turned out beautifully.
Nelson is a good listener; he cares about the satisfaction of the client and I have always felt that my suggestions were welcomed and acted on. 
And he will not disappear once the work is done. He offered to send his team to do regrouting work as needed, and has done so when requested.
His workers are neat, tidy, and hard working. It is not a revolving door of strange faces; it is usually the same person on each type of job, and I have gotten to know and value each of his people.
It's hard to find a contractor who is as caring and conscientious as Nelson, and with the results that he produces it's no wonder that I turn to him time-after-time for my contracting needs.

The crew did a great job.  They showed up on time each day (2days), worked quickly and left the place clean.

It went very well. Nelson and crew were very professional with strong communication throughout the entire process. They also knew their business. From day one, we got a sense of their passion for their work. We are very pleased with the high quality workmanship. The job was done very well and the crew moved at a great pace. In this case we feel the price was fair for great quality. Any and all issues that came up throughout the process were addressed accordingly - no questions asked and no hassle. This went a long way with peace of mind.

We had used them in our previous home 4 years ago, so we knew how their process works. This was a larger project with much more tile work and took longer than expected , almost 3 months. Nelson came up with some unique design ideas and in the end created a very large shower ( 7.5 ft x 4.8 ft) with a soaring wall of tile that rose up into an area that was previously attic space. The advice to have a large piece of glass without a shower door was perfect. One of the best aspects of working with them is that you have the chance to select all of the materials on your own, with or without Nelson's input. You're in control of the materials cost , full transparency, a big issue with us. You have to commit lots of time and effort to that part of a project but Nelson will provide help with that as well if you need him. Other contractors use a menu type of approach , bundling everything into one price. As with any custom project there were various delays and I worry that the key people can be pulled in too many directions , especially Nelson. I admire how hard they work, often staying well past 8 pm to stay on schedule. But if you can be patient AND a squeaky wheel at the same time I think Begue is the right choice for a custom renovation.

Begue contractors cut out the ceiling where the leaks were and discovered the leaking joints. He re-routed the vent pipe so it would drain correctly and prevent accumulating water. He repaired the ceiling and patched as necessary. As always, Nelson's team was neat and clean. Then we got the bill…. We figured b/c it was an emergency and took a couple of days to do, we would pay an arm and a leg. Very reasonable! We will continue to use Begue Contractors as the need arises. Nelson is thoughtful, responsive, has great ideas and really does some nice work.

Excellent! Nelson Begue is my go-to for all things home remodel. He is a superior craftsman, and the guys who work for him are unfailingly polite and always listen to instructions, answer questions, or provide suggestions for things that need doing. On the design front, I trust Nelson's judgment, but he's not high pressure and if you want to do something different, he will do everything in his power to accommodate. You do have to go into a project with fairly specific ideas about what you want; he's not foremost a designer, but his execution is top notch. His construction crew does a wonderful job (the shower door installers in the bathroom said that it was one of the most straightforward installations they'd ever done, thanks to the perfectly plumb shower walls). I have now used Nelson for three major projects, finishing the basement, a full bathroom remodel, and the refinishing of the basement that was required as a result of a sewer pipe backup. In every case, he exceeded expectations in terms of the finished product. Timing can sometimes be an issue; Nelson is busy and there are a lot of demands on his time, but he's very good about communicating (and very easy to reach by phone, text, or email). His crew is also tremendously trustworthy; during the latter two projects, I simply gave them a key and they came and went as needed to complete the project. You won't get fancy sketches or tremendously detailed estimates from Nelson; but what you will get is excellent quality work at an incredibly competitive price. I will definitely be using Begue Contractors again!

The quality of workmanship was very high. I knew that I was paying top dollar for a high quality job. The initial estimate was about $ 10,000 higher than what competitors offered (assuming same quality materials). The owner is generally
responsive to phone calls; explains things clearly; manages his team of
workers well; and is highly professional. He offered very good advice
about design matters (my experience is that contractors often fail in
this regard), choice of materials and where to buy materials. His
adjustments to our original ideas for the floor plan were immediate
improvements and proved to be more so as the job developed. We were very pleased with the completed job. All this being said, the job took more than 4 months when the original estimate was 6 weeks! Admittedly there were some difficulties with scheduling the permitting inspections. These were out of the contractor's control, but he should have provided cushion for them in the schedule. Regardless, there's no excuse for a 2 1/2 month delay on a relatively straightforward basement job. Also, the job came in $ 15,000 above the estimate. Some of that was understandable because we opted for higher quality materials and additional work as the job proceeded. But I had informed the contractor that we were very cost sensitive and I wish he had anticipated where we would likely want additional work.
I will use the contractor again, but I will be very particular about schedule from the beginning and I will assume a much higher estimate than he provides.

Nelson and his crew are superb. Nelson is a fantastic designer. He is imaginative and creative, and listens well to his clients' needs. He knows what you are trying to achieve and he won't rest until it's done to his satisfaction. His crews will work as late as necessary to meet a deadline, and he guarantees all of his work, forever. His crew is very, very skilled and painstaking. If you have the time, they will take as much time as necessary to make things perfect. Nelson knows what people value in a home and won't try to talk you into a lot of bells and whistles that you don't want. He is interested in his client's happiness. He is totally responsive to phone calls and emails, and frequently attends the work site to review things and instruct the crew. Changes are no problem, especially if they enhance the overall design. Once they began work they stuck with it and did not go away until it was finished. I can't say enough about how happy I am with my two new bathrooms. They made decisions on how the construction will go without consulting us. So we had to stop the construction for a while. He did not contacted us at once, so the work took a little long time to finish and that was the frustrating part. Somehow, it ended up with a nice result and it was all great. He did some amends whenever he could on the materials.

Very well. Employees very professional, punctual, company owner often on site . Took care to cover furniture when interior work was being performed. Good cleanup at the end of each workday. Owner was always in contact with us regarding any additional work that needed to be done. Company owner was very good at troubleshooting. We would use this company again without hesitation and recommend him to friends and family.

Nelson and his team were extremely professional from the very first meeting and we couldn't be happier with the final end product. All work was done to specifications and with a careful attention to detail. Nelson has a keen eye for design and while he respected our final decisions, his recommendations on numerous design decisions were nearly always spot on. He is exceptionally responsive to our punch list clean up and was flexible throughout the process. Nelson sets the bar for excellence in home renovations and we will certaining be using him and his team of professionals again.

Nelson Begue's workers did an very good job. They were always professional and worked very hard. They arrived mostly on time (with one exception - when someone got lost). The finished work looks very nice - and has received compliments from our neighbors. We would like to use Nelson's firm again for more remodeling work.

The tile picked out did not match the tile on the floor (which was old and ratty). Nelson did not like the look and refused to settle for a mediocre appearance, so he ripped out the floor (not part of the plan or estimate) and re-tiled that as well for no additional cost. He said that he wanted his jobs to look good and this one does. When his crew was doing exterior wall work, the window was damaged making it very difficult to open/close. The window was old and I offered to share the cost in replacement which he politely declined. He replaced it at no cost to me so I now have a new window that opens easily. Minor issues- some of his crew spoke little english, making it a challenge to communicate when he wasn't around. Also parking is tight around our house, and several times his crew was asked to move cars from my neighbors parking space despite my request to not park in that space. But those minor issues aside, his price was very reasonable, he returned calls promptly, provided thorough explanations of scope, and really turned a drab, cheap looking bathroom into something much nicer and contemporary looking. Next year we hope to perform a kitchen renovation and will definitely ask Begue Contractors to bid on the job, as Nelson has great ideas, his price is reasonable, and the work is of good quality.

We highly recommend Begue Contractors. We started our bathroom remodeling by inviting five contractors to provide estimates and design ideas. Nelson of Begue immediately impressed us with his professionalism and design insights. The company did not offer the lowest price...they were somewhere in the middle. In the end, we chose Begue based on a combination of cost, experience, and quality (we researched all of the companies quite extensively, even speaking to prior customers). Most of the contractors offered and quot;cookie cutterand quot; ideas for the remodel. Neslo offered unique ideas, encouraging us to create something different than the other houses in the area.

From day 1, it became obvious that we made the right choice. The workers were very professional and very focused on their work (no lounging around or a lot of chit chat). The demolition of our large master bathroom was completed within 1 1/2 days. From beginning to end, they minimized disruption and dust/dirt in the house (and cleaned up at the end of every day). The project moved along nicely with no unexpected or unusual delays caused by Begue.

What impressed us the most was how meticulous they were at every stage. Drywall, tile, plumbing and electrical....all done with care. They were craftsmen.. They never seemed to rush anything. Nelson was in constant contact and visited our house regularly. We discussed new ideas throughout the process (nothing major), and made adjustments on the fly. He also made great recommendations in terms of type/color of tile, faucets, vanity, countertop, etc. He wasn't shy about telling us when a particular color, design, etc. we had in mind did not seem right (but very respectful). When it came time to making purchases, he recommended vendors but provided zero pressure on who to buy from. Sometimes we used his recommended vendor, other times we did not. Another impressive thing was Nelson's ability to and quot;visualizeand quot; the completed project before it even began. When he visited us the first time, we could tell he was seeing the finished bathroom....not the mess we had. In the end, it turned out exactly as he described. At the end of the project, a few odds and ends needed to be fixed. His crew returned immediately without question to correct the issues.

The project was completed about 5 months ago. As of the date of this review, everything is still great (no leaky faucets, loose tiles, cracks in the walls, etc.). We couldn't be happier with the results!

From start to finish this company was professional, honest, and timely. The work they did was exceptional. We had problems even finding someone to put tile over the brick on our fireplace. Begue had no problem doing it, and it looks exactly as we thought it would. Our kitchen has eleven outlets in a small area and Daniel matched everything perfectly. Having someone else do the work was very difficult for two diy -ers...but Daniel did more than we expected. The fireplace looks wonderful, the slate on the hearth looks perfect, and the tile back splash looks like its been there forever.

Deadline was tight in order to list condo to sell. Nelson's crew came in and completed everything in a couple of days--the place looked fantastic.

Because it was the only bathroom, completing the work quickly was critical as I had booked a hotel room and didn't want to incur more expenses than necessary. Nelson's crew worked on Thanksgiving day (not to mention late into the night on other days that week) to complete the job. I would and have used Begue again since then.

I had used Angie's list to identify four prospective contractors for this kitchen remodeling but was urged by my sister to consider Begue contractors who were not listed in Angie's list at the time. After meeting with all the contractors, Nelson Begue, offered the most competitive price but also provided some great consultation during the estimate process. He left me with a very comfortable feeling that I was going to be in good hands. Nelson had assigned a two man crew to do the job headed by Eric who is outstanding. The job was completed on time within 6 weeks and they always cleaned up at the end of each day. Eric and his assistant worked tirelessly each day until almost 9 pm as I had to have this job done within the 6 week time frame. The only setback was when Eric was installing the back splash over the cook top and fell cracking the new granite counter top bridge where the cook top would be installed. Nelson informed me immediately of the incident and offered to replace the entire slab. I opted for a replacement bridge to be made and he covered the expense. Furthermore, Nelson offered one complimentary job for the inconvenience. I only mention this to emphasize the sincerity and commitment to customer satisfaction. This complimentary job was also done with the utmost professionalism and quality.

I had called Begue Contractors for an estimate on the bathroom remodels because they had been recommended by a friend and neighbor. I had heard back from the owner promptly and immediately scheduled an estimate for the work. The owner came to my home on time and spent an extended amount of time with me going over what I wanted and then he also provided me with many other great options to further improve my vision. I recieved an estimate from Nelson in a very timely manner. After comparing Begue Contractors with other estimates I had received for the same project, I felt that they were the fairest price for the work. We set up a time frame for the work to be completed that agreed with my schedule and it went very smoothly from start to finish which was a pleasant surprise. The employess were extremely courteous and very respectful of my house and my privacy. They actually put rug protectors down on all surfaces that they came near. I have never had that happen before. The quality of work exceeded my expectations, it was outstanding and I felt that the employees took a great amount of pride in their work and it showed. I was thrilled that the project was finished on time and on budget and even better, craftsmanship was outstanding!
