We have five skylights on the house that were shoddily installed long before before we bought in 2008. Leak, caulk, fix drywall, paint, and repeat every few years. Even though the roof was about 18 years old, we decided to replace everything to have a fresh start and not have a mix of old and new shingles that would result if we just replaced the skylights. We received quotes from four A rated companies on Angies, and were pretty amazed at the range in prices from $13K to close to $18K. The materials (skylights, roofing, gutters) all appeared to be the same, so I have to assume that the key differential is the labor cost and/or profit margin. From a quality and responsiveness perspective, everything went well. When I nitpicked a few items, they cheerily said "no problem" and took care of them. I waited a few rainstorms to write this review, no leaks!!! So we are pretty happy. Looking forward to completing the drywall repair from previous leaks and then not having to worry about it for many years to come. One lesson learned - clear the leaves and other yard debris from around the house before a roofer starts the job. The reason why is that while they do a magnet sweep for nails, etc, inevitably some items are missed among the piles of leaves. This one is on me. I would certainly use Augustine again - but I hope not to be calling any roofer for at least 20+ years!

Initially contacted Augustine to inspect my roof due to finding shakes in the yard. They responded promptly, sent someone out and provided me with all the pictures they took to explain why we needed the roof replaced. No hard sell, just their evaluation. I mainly worked with Tony over the phone and I must say it was a pleasure working with him. He is obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He always responded promptly to any calls and was always patient and thorough in answering any questions. We did get multiple bids and chose Augustine based on price, the many excellent reviews on this list as well as the confidence I felt from talking with Tony. The crew, led by Pedro, arrived on time and promptly went to work. They were professional, polite and worked hard the whole time they were here. It took them 2.5 days due to the weather but they always left the house water tight and replaced the felt that was soaked by the rain before continuing to shingle the roof. The job was completed on time and for the estimated amount. No "extra" problems were found. It was a pleasure working with this company and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done on their roof.

The roofers had one delay of a week due to rain. Other than that, they finished promptly. It took approximately 3 days to complete. I did an inspection and found 4 things that weren't quite right - either incomplete or not done well. But before I got around to mentioning it to the roofer, they had fixed them all. The roof looks great. A week later we got several days of rain including one day of drenching rain. Absolutely no leaks.

The owner of Augustine Roofing responded to my initial phone call within 24 hours, and had an estimator at my house a couple of days later. Ben evaluated the state of the roof (I had been finding shingles in the back yard) and provided estimates for both the cost of a repair and the cost of a new roof. He did not attempt to sell me costly upgrades, which I appreciated. Since the current roof was more than 18 years old, I opted for the new roof. Temporary repairs were then performed free of charge. Materials for the installation were delivered to the roof on the agreed-upon day, although installation was delayed one day due to weather. The Augustine team arrived before dawn and began working as soon as there was enough light, finishing before dark. They worked hard and cleaned up meticulously before leaving.

Augustine Roofing was extremely professional, well-priced and a pleasure with which to work. They communicated well and completed the job on time. Would highly recommend them anyone that needs roof repair.

They were great, Bill was on time for the appointment to give us a quote, and his team was on time, did a good job and cleaned up after they were finished. They got all of the work done in 1 day, and we are extremely happy.

I was very happy with Ben from the get go. Punctual for the estimate and quickly responded with quote and setting up work. Employees that came to do the roof (6 of them) were out on time & right to work. Was impressed with checking the trusses for damage after needing 9 pieces of plywood replaced from water damage. They cleaned up everything and left no traces. Roof looks nice and I would hire them again.

Requested a bid via email and received a response the same day. Estimate was received in approximately a week. After getting additional estimates, I contacted Augustine to schedule. Scheduled date was about 3 weeks out. Roof was installed on schedule and in one day as promised. I have no complaints and would highly recommend to anyone needing a new roof.

Augustine Roofing was an excellent company to work with. The estimator was friendly and knowledgeable and had a fair estimate to us within 24 hours. We opted to wait 6months before doing the work, but Augustine honored the estimate we had. They were able to begin the work promptly and finished on schedule. The work crew was professional and cleaned up the job site after each work day. I would have no hesitation recommending Augustine to others needing roofing work.

Working with Augustin Roofing was just great! When Ben Burnie came to my home to give me a free estimate, he even invite me to go up on the roof to show me that not only my shingles needed replacement but also my plywood. He explained with detail what he think would best for my roof. This job took two days and the crew was always on time, they also clean after themselves. Ben came the day they started working to check that everything was ok. I'm really happy with my new Roof and I would definitively recommend Augustin Roofing to anyone.

This was one of the easiest contractor experiences I've had. I contacted 3 providers through Angie's List. Bill arrived at the scheduled date/time for the estimate. I had recently purchased the property, so I had the results of an extensive home inspection with photos. Bill reviewed the inspection material, viewed the roof and we discussed options and materials. I explained my HOA guidelines and he recommended the CertainTeed, traditional 3-tab shingle. He gave me a verbal estimate "range", indicating he would provide formal written estimate when he got back to the office. I received his written offer via email the next day. His initial bid of $3800 was middle bid of 3 for comparable product and service. Bill was currently offering a $350 discount to Angie's List customers, so that lowered his price to $3450. Terms...no deposit required, payment in full when the job was complete. It was an easy choice. Inclement weather forced reschedule several times, but this wasn't a problem as this was more of a life-cycle replacement and I wasn't required to be available for any portion of the actual work. On the day of the job, I arrived home at 4 and crew was already gone. All areas, front, back and side of the house were spotless. Other than the nice, new shingles...I couldn't tell they had been there. Overall, great experience and I would recommend Bill to anyone.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Augustine Roofing. Bill came to the house and completed the estimate. After the estimate was completed he/his company was incredibly responsive and professional. Every person I encountered from Augustine roofing was pleasant and helpful. Our new roof and gutters look perfect! I would absolutely recommend Augustine roofing. The price was very fair and I could not be more pleased with the results!

Were all my encounters with home improvement contractors this pleasant!! Bill Augustine, the owner of the business, promptly kept his agreed-to appointment time (a one hour time slot), assessed the project, and provided me with a fair, honest, and desired replacement cost for the project which was to remove all the old asphalt shingles down to the plywood deck, replace the plywood that needed replacing (the home is 50+ years old, so I knew some of the plywood would need replacing!), and replacing the underlayment materials and shingles with the highest-quality CertainTeed replacement materials which included CertainTeed Landmark Lifetime Architectural Designer series shingles of my wife's and my choosing. On the agreed-to date for the project to begin, the roofing crew showed up promptly as promised and went straight to work, spreading protective tarps and removing all the old materials. A truck showed up on schedule into which the old materials were loaded, followed by another truck which delivered the replacement materials. All-in-all, the crew was at our home less than eight hours (which included a lunch break). Our property was as clean as when the crew had arrived. Having worked in the building trades early in my life (this included roofing), one thing I noticed: as the crew left in their van, some of them were looking back to assess their day's work. Pride in one's work is essential to doing a good job! As I said: Were all my encounters with home improvement contractors this pleasant! Thank you Bill Augustine and crew!!!

The crew from Augustine roofing was very punctual. Showed up at 8am and had the roof done by the time I got home from work. I guess only time will tell how the roof performs, but so far I'm happy with the results. They were also very professional. They ran into some trouble with one of my sky lights that cracked when they working on the roof and they had to replace it. They replaced it free of charge and called to let me know what had happened. I also thought the cost was very fair for the work done. They came in at 2/3 the price of another roofer I got an estimate from.

We needed a roof due to age of the roof when we bought the house. I got 4 estimates and had 4 very different experiences with each company. Bill Augustine came out for our estimate and was credible from the start. Honest, friendly, and willing to answer our questions and concerns - that customer experience latest throughout the work. He was patient as we worked thru HOA issues and prompt in responses to emails and phone calls. The crew that came out to do the work arrived on time, was easy to work with, courteous and patient as we figured out where to place the skylights. they gave progress updates as requested and left the job site (our house and yard) very clean. They also gave a great recommendation on some finishing touches that made the finished roof look great. I can't say this is how would have loved to spend this kind of money, but Augstine Roofing made the experience more pleasurable than I expected and make it an easy recommendation for anyone needing roof work.

This was a routine preventive replacement of an original home roof due to age (23 years). They provided a quick and easy estimate, had a very good price, helped with selection of the replacement tile, and got us scheduled within a few weeks. They dealt with a number of schedule & coordination issues caused by the week-long rain in late September, and (unplanned) had to replace some gutter guards that ended up being damaged as a result of the replacement. All came out looking good and consistent with the estimate. When working with them, I always felt like they placed the customer first. Just be sure to let them know if anything does not seem right, and they'll get it straightened out.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Augustine Roofing. We asked for quotes from multiple roofing companies when seeking to replace our 21-year-old roof and were met with horrible customer service (people not showing up for appointments, people sales-pitching us constantly, etc.), and even though Augustine Roofing's pricing was quite close to other quotes, their service absolutely was the differentiator for us. We trusted them because they showed up when they said they would, remained communicative even after we took a few months to decide, and just treated us like people and not a money source. Our faith in them was proven well-placed when we suddenly had a leak in our roof and needed immediate service to patch it weeks before the roof replacement was to take place. They came right out in the rain and fixed it for us without hesitation. Our roof now looks fantastic! It only took them a day to replace our townhouse roof, and we came home to everything all cleaned up and in its place. The roof is exactly the color we ordered, and we are very happy!

The owner responded promptly to our request for an estimate and after comparing with other providers we hired Augustine roofing to do the job. We were given a date and all the work was performed in a day and a half. The workers were efficient and polite, keeping us informed of the process, particularly at the end of the first day, when there was still work to do the next day. They gathered all the debris in tarps and disposed of it in their truck at the end of the day. I have horses on my property, so they were careful to pick up any nails or tacks, even sweeping with a magnetic wand. Yes, there is a lot of noise while they are working but we were warned ahead of time and planned accordingly. The new roof looks great and I will recommend this company to anyone that asks me.

After comparing the quote against another one from another company, we chose Augustine Roofing. We got a better price. On the day of the roofing job, the crew came out early. The foreman, Pedro, came to the door and introduced himself. He asked questions to ensure that he and his crew got the job done right and the way we wanted it. The crew went right to work and hard. Each man knew what he had to do. The crew worked like a well-oiled machine. When done, the clean-up process was no different. Each man knew what he needed to do and got things done. Trash was picked up meticulously and there was no sign that they had been onsite by the end of the job. We would recommend Augustine Roofing to our friends. Thank you for an excellent job! The roofing crew arrived early on the day of the job and took care to ask us whether or not they could park the dump truck to collect debris on our front lawn close to the house. They took care not to damage anything. The crew went to work right away and worked very well as a team. All were polite and hard-working. Pedro, the foreman, was kind, polite, and very professional. He asked questions instead of making assumptions and that avoided any possible problems. He took extra care to foresee what needed to be moved out of he way to protect property. When it came time to do the clean-up when the job was done, each of the crew members got to work and there was meticulous nail pick-up and debris blowing with a leaf blower. We are extremely pleased with the results of the job.

After a few issues with scheduling and communication, Bill came to our home and repaired our roof leak at no charge! While our interaction was limited to telephone calls, Bill was very professional and polite. We will absolutely use Augustine Roofing next time we need roofing expertise.

Bill and Tony were great. Answered all my questions and were so accommodating, professional, informative. The crew arrived about 8 am and did the whole job in one day. They even removed two old solar panels and a couple of obsolete dishes. Tony called back to make sure I was pleased with the work. With the new roof, the leaks are history.
