Sam arrived when scheduled. Had springs with him and replaced the sprung one as well as the unsprung one. He discovered that our garage door was a lot heavier than the newer doors, so he said that he would come back with stronger springs for our garage door. The lighter springs were left installed so that we would be able to come and go through our garage. The next day he was back with the heavier springs and the cost remained the same. He was very professional and we would definitely call on his company again.

Sam came out to inspect the job very promptly and repaired the garage door on the spot. After discussing potentially repairing the garage door openers it was determined that they should be replaced. He correctly identified problems with overhead lights that we had fixed prior to his installing the openers. Sam was prompt, professional and extremely thorough. There was not a trace of his work as he cleaned the area well after completing the task. We will trust no one but Sam to work on our garage doors or openers from now on.

Sam Hickin (owner) was responsive, personable and professional. He got us scheduled in the promised time frame and showed up promptly at the appointment time. He completed the work quickly (30-45 mins.), brought all his own equipment and left everything in order. We would definitely use his services in the future and highly recommend.

Had used this service once in the past for replacement of garage door opener and was extremely satisfied with that service also. Sam did an excellent job. He was crushed with business but still remembered that we needed our garage door fixed before winter sent in. He called us when he was in the neighborhood and came over very quickly. He repaired the door in a few minutes and did an excellent job. He charged relatively little for the work done and gave us the Angie's List discount on top of that!

Sam was wonderful to work with.  He came one afternoon and gave me an estimate, ordered the opener and springs and cables.  Set and appointment that suited me and came and did a beautiful job.  He was neat and didn't leave any boxes, spare parts or the old broken items for me to deal with.  He was friendly and interesting to talk to. 
I chose to go with the more expensive opener because it is guaranteed for life.
I highly recommend Sam (Valley Garage Doors) if you need a repair or replacement.  He was fair and gave me options, with explanations, so that I could make the best decision for me.

My Wayne Dalton I-Drive garage door opener died.  I called for a replacement opener and spring system.  After discussing over the phone in the afternoon, by the evening I had a proposal and quote.  Sam recommended an opener that I had already researched, and his quote was in the ballpark of what I had expected.  I called the next day with the go-ahead, and Sam came out that afternoon to verify the work, take measurements, and schedule the work.  Sam arrived the afternoon on the day we had scheduled and performed the take-down of the old system and installed the new hardware.  He took the time to go over the new opener and its features, we discussed maintenance that I'll need to do, and now I have a very nice garage door opener that I'm pleased with.
I'd not hesitate to recommend Sam to anyone looking for garage door repair or maintenance.  We were very pleased with his work.

First my old garage door spring broke. My car was stuck inside the garage because the door was very heavy and was also hung up at the top of the door. Sam, of Valley Garage Doors, made a trip to my home to help me get my car out. At the same time, he looked over the door/spring situation and gave me an estimate for a new spring and an estimate for a new garage door and spring. I chose the later.

Sam sent me, via email, photos annd specifications of the doors he thought were most appropriate. I picked one and sent him back a signed contract. Two weeks later, Same showed up ahead of time, ready to install. It took him about two hours. The door works perfectly, is better insulated, and is extremely good lookinng on the house. I recommend Sam and Valley Garage Door without hesitation!

In all of our contact with Sam he was cordial and professional.  His work was well done and efficient.  He returned to our home to make adjustments on the installation done almost a year ago.  He did the work willingly for no service charge.  I can't comment on the price and quality of the garage doors because that was controlled by the general contractor.  Beyond that, we were very pleased with the service and would highly recommend this business.
