It’s a great company. They have great price and great work. I’ve used them a lot and depending on what it is, they are relatively quick. They clean up extremely well after the project has been completed.

So they responded after several weeks of trying to get them over to our home. They checked out the unit filled it with Freon and they told me there was a leak on one of the lines on the outside. They said that it appeared to them that the A/C unit had slightly moved and potentially caused the line to mess up and that voided my warranty. I told them I was unaware of such thing, and he said I probably hit it with the lawn mower or something, mind you we have had some crazy weather and have had high winds do to some thunderstorms, and they were not fully secure just sitting on some platform with no hooks or any type of screws or anything. apparently Nick was the guy I was speaking to and he said that he would have to charge me $1400 to empty the Freon and test the line, I was shocked because the purchase was only done about 9 months ago and $10k+ was spent. I couldn't believe that he was going to charge me or wanted to charge me for something that was fully under warranty. So at that point I remembered I had a home warranty and told them that I would go through my home warranty instead.

So I used my home warranty and when the service guy came out, I explained to him my situation, he immediately went over to where the leak was and saw that there was a leak and simply just tightened up the bolt and filled it with Freon and within 5 minutes of him getting there, my unit was up and operating with no leaks whatsoever. its been 4 days now and still no issues.

I feel as though Nick's heating and cooling failed me all around, the fact that I had a warranty they were never in a hurry to come service me because they new they weren't making any money, and then when they finally came they made an issue to somehow say my warranty was void so they would no longer be obligated by it, and then wanted to charge me some ridiculous price for something that didn't need to be done. I m very unhappy and wanted to spread the news.

It was up and running in less than an hour. Super friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, I went ahead and had Nick's work up a quote
for replacement of my system to be done after the cooling season. I highly recommend Nick and his team.

They said that they're absolutely glad that I called because there was a particular part in there that was vibrating. It was smart that I called them. They were very professional. I thought they weren't coming until the next day which was okay with me. They showed up just within a few hours of the request that I made. They're always prompt. They give me 100%. When they came out to initially give me an estimate to replace my unit, Nick actually went in the crawlspace to look around. He looked at the model number of the old unit. He was very thorough. He came back outside and saw my outside unit. He gave me two estimates on two products that he carried. He always treated me with respect with my questions. Every question that I asked was important. He just wanted to answer to the best of my ability so that I would understand. He was local and that's the other thing I really liked.

Quick, responsive, thorough, and professional. Ran out of parts on the truck and had scheduled for them to come back the following week, so far a no show on the return visit, need to give them a call. Also a bit on the expensive side for non-emergency services, but to be honest I needed 7lbs of gas to be added to my system and have not yet compared the cost per lb with market average, so they may be near or on the mark. Local company and nice guys so I still like to support.

I called them at a time when it seems everyone's AC units were not functioning due to a hot spell. Most service providers said they couldn't get to me for at least 5 days, if they even returned my call. Even Nick's said that it would be several days, but that they would try to squeeze me in. Within about 1.5 days, they were there and everything was fixed! I have an older system, so I was waiting for them to tell me I needed a new unit (I have rental properties and this is usually what happens - people don't want to fix my problems, just install new units). I found this service on Angie's List and am very happy with the outcome so far!

After discovering a puddle in our basement and determining it was coming from the furnace condensate drain, we called Nick's to come and take a look. They were prompt and courteous and easy to deal with. Nick took his time and examined everything, flushed out the clogged pipes and refitted new pipes where necessary. He only charged the initial service fee that was quoted over the phone when we made the appointment. About a week later we discovered the same thing had happened with our attic unit. Nick came back out and did the same thing all over again in our attic and didn't charge us a dime. We're very pleased with him and his company!

Very impressed with how thorough Nick's crew was. They made several recommendations for components that were out of tolerance and found a freon leak. I called my home warranty company (AHS) to fix the problems. The A/C repair company sent out by AHS did not find any of the problems Nick's crew reported. I called Nick to ask if his crew could have made a mistake. Nick personally came out and went over each component. He showed me the coil did have a leak (with a detector), and the capacitors were way out of spec. I'm now trying to contact my warranty company to resolve. I do trust Nick's competency and professionalism and will be calling him to do the repairs if I can't get AHS to cover it.

Nick even included complete duct cleaning in one of the houses. On the first house, my electric bill dropped by over $100/month. On this last house, I have yet to see an electric bill over $80/month. Quite incredible.

This past winter, we called Nick's to trouble shoot our furnace. Although busy, Nick himself came with a couple of his employees, and they determined that the water in the line was due to the exhaust line being installed at an incorrect angle (or perhaps it had dropped). Because the unit sits almost in the middle of the basement, there is quite a few feet before the pipe reaches the outside of the house. The team managed to make the fix without causing any drywall damage. They even cleaned up after themselves. They were polite, personable and professional, and we knew we would hire them again. I do not remember what we paid for the repair, but it was below what we expected to have to pay. We wanted to pay more, because we realize they have all got to eat! This spring, we wanted our A/C unit moved to a different side of the house, which required re-routing everything by 50 feet or more. (My guess. I have not measured.) The only thing they did not do was the electrical (as we requested taking care of that through someone else). They were, again, problem-solvers. They made no holes in any of the drywall, yet accomplished this job without any trouble. They were courteous and professional as usual. We thought the cost was very reasonable for the amount of time spent, particularly since included in the price was also a new unit to replace our very old, loud one. The amount I listed as the cost for repair is what I believe is (approximately) the combined total for both repairs. Nick and his team are like your friendly, neighborhood repair team. We trust them completely and consider them friends and allies. Very refreshing for a company we picked randomly from an internet search!

I had called three other "larger" companies and received their quotes, before calling Nick. Two of them charged for coming out and one did not. The one that did not charge was the highest priced at $2100.00. I went on the web to Angies list website and found Nick's company. He was rated high and two of the other were rated low. So I called Nick and he came out on a Saturday and did not charge me for his coming out to look. He took down the info and called back with the quote. His was the lowest. He gave me a date when he could do the repair, and got it done on the day he said. The A/C has been working fine so far. He stands behind his work. I would recommend Nick to family and friends. A job well done.

My heat pump was delivering less performance in both the cooling and heating modes. The unit was installed in 2003 and had no other problems. Contacted Nick to check-out the system. Upon arrival he opened the air handler and quickly located the problem, which was blockage in the fins of the heat exchanger. He showed me the problem and outlined what he would do before taking any action. Upon my approval he evacuated all the refrigerant from the system then removed the heat exchanger. Using a small power washer he cleaned the unit with dish soap (Dawn) and water with the power washer. I did this outside. After rinsing the unit, he used the reverse flow from his shop vacuum to dry the unit before returning it to the air handler. Once all fittings were connected he recharged the unit with new refrigerant. Checked both the heat and cool functions and measured the air flow. In addition he vacuumed all air intakes and completely cleaned the filtration unit. He pointed out that the cause of the problem was inadequate maintenance on the electronic air cleaner which had stopped its function allowing excess material to clog the heat exchanger. He completely cleaned the electronic air cleaner and provided guidance on hoe to check its performance monthly to me. Nick also explained that he used the dish detergent because it would not damage the aluminum fins of the heat exchanger and that Dawn would wash away any material which could cause minute dirt to cling to the heat exchanger as air flowed through it. Nick provided not only expert service, but invaluable tips on how to maintain the operation of my heat pump system for peak performance and to avoid costly repairs.
