We were refacing our kitchen cabinets, and we had five large cabinet doors that needed to have glass panes installed in them. I contacted Glass Doctor through the link on this website, and they called me that afternoon to discuss pricing and options. I brought the doors to their shop, and they only took one day to cut the glass and install it. I’m very happy with the quality of their work.

Tim and Keith did an outstanding job of installing new DreamLine Duet glass showers. They were professional and punctual. They picked up the shower doors at Lowe's and brought them to my home. The installation cost was $488. I will definitely hire the Glass Doctor of Stafford Virginia again for all my glass needs.

Great. I took the window frame in for them to measure the glass. They ordered it, and about 10 days later the glass came in, I took the frame back in for them to replace, and it took about 15 minutes.

According to the previous owner the provider assured her that the window would be installed before we closed on the house in mid May. The original estimated installation date on the paid receipt the previous owner had said May 22nd. It didn't happen. Then they told the previous owners they would install the window the day I moved into the house on May 22nd. No one showed up. I called the provider the following Tuesday the 26th since Monday was a holiday. The man I spoke to said, "Let me find out what is happening with this order and I'll call you right back." I never heard back from anyone. I called again the following Monday June 1st and got the exact same response, "Let me find out where this order is for you and I'll call you back." He even asked if I was the new owner of the house and asked me to verify my name and phone number. Again no one called me back. On around the 10th of June I called again inquiring about the window and again a man on the phone said he would find out what was going on with my window and would get back to me. Shockingly no one called me back. On Thursday June 18th I called the provider and expressed my frustration and said I had called several times and no one had ever called me back. The man on the phone said he would put me on hold and find out where the order was and what was going on with it. After a few minutes he came back on the line and said my window was on the delivery truck which was to arrive that day. He said he would verify that the window was the correct size and call me back to schedule the installation. I didn't hear back from anyone until the following Monday June 22nd when they called to tell me they would install the window the following day between 12 and 2 PM. Luckily I have an understanding boss and some flexibility in my schedule and was able to arrange to be there on such short notice. The installation went smoothly and they did show up within the window of time they gave me. I had originally thought I would  ask them to give me an estimate on replace the sliding glass doors to the dining room but after all this there is no chance of that happening.

During the last snow fall when the temperature went from the teens to the low 50s my vehicle's windshield developed a crack right up the middle. My insurance company put me in touch with Glass Doctor of Fredericksburg, VA to have it replaced. The tech arrived as scheduled and went to work straightaway. He completed the job in under 2 hours at which point he knocked on my door to inform of such. He gave me instructions as to when I could drive and wash the truck and departed. Shortly after, I went out to the truck to insure is was locked and that is when I noticed the black globs on the hood and fender which turned out to be the adhesive that was used on the windshield. Fortunately I had some mineral spirits and was able to clean it off. Still I was quite annoyed that the tech did not see and clean something so blatantly obvious. Had I not caught this in time the adhesive would have set and then I would have had to deal with getting the tech back out or removing it myself without damaging the finish. Attention to detail is what defines a professional. Based on this experience I would be very reluctant to use this company again.

Glass Doctor of Montgomery county replaced two fogged double panned windows. We thought Glass Doctor was a well established outfit so we paid a bit extra to have them do the work, and we also purchased an additional 5 year warranty (10 years total) because these windows have a tendency leak around the sealing and fog up.
On one window the caulking was messy and  after an argument with the owner GD came back and fixed it.  About a year and a half later the same window developed a crack on the sealing edge, so we called GD to have it replaced under warranty.  First we were told that GD of Montgomery County had been sold to GD of Beltsville, and that I should call them.  They in turn told me that GD of Montgomery county was responsible and after going back and fourth a few times, they informed me that the warranty only covered fogging due to seal leaks and because the window  developed a crack (at the seal) it was not covered, and would not be covered even if the window later fogged up.
I suppose that technically they are correct, but in fact Glass Doctor sold me a defective product and they are unwilling to stand by their work.  Meanwhile if the other window fogs up several years from now I have little hope that any one will be around to honor the warranty.
Good companies do good work, stand by their product, and above all make the customer happy.  Glass Doctor is not a good company.

Good service.  The glass in our sliding glass door just shattered one evening about 6 PM.  Aside from Home Depot this company was the only glass repair company we could find that was still answering the phone.  They were available for an appointment the next day to visit, measure and give us an estimate.  They following day (day after the estimate) they were back on site to fix the door, they only needed about 30 minutes to remove the old shattered glass, put in the new pane and put the door back into it's track.  They were on time, reasonably priced and responsive.  If we have a similar problem again this is the company we'll call.

After having 2 windows broken due to vandalism, I called several places and Glass Doctors were the only ones that could get someone out that day to look over the situation and give me an estimate.   When Jay came out, I realized I had used them before a few years ago.  When he gave me the estimate, he took 10% off for being a returning customer, and gave me the second window for 1/2 off.  He patched the hole, in the rain, until the new glass could come in.  He said it may take as much as a week for it to come, I told him I would like it done a quickly as possible, and he told me he would see what he could do.   The next afternoon, I get a call from them asking if I would be available the next day for the window repair.   The worker came in fairly early, replaced the 2 windows in under a hour, and helped clean up all of the extra broken glass we had in the area.

That job had to be done right away, and we had to find someone who would do the job immediately; so we went ahead with Glass Doctor. I did not deal with them directly; however, when I left a message during the weekend, he called me back on Monday morning. It was not a usual windshield and it was amazing that they could get it in right away. They were pretty efficient. Their response time was great.

The guy who came to give the original estimate was very friendly. They were actually very flexible in terms of time. They are very efficient and flexible. I wasn’t actually there when they had come out to do the work, so I cannot comment on their punctuality. I would use their services again in the future.

1/12/2011 - I had an appointment with Glass Doctor for an 8am-12pm window. They were coming to evaluate installing a pet door in a glass patio door. They were the local installer for this particular brand of pet door. They did not show by 12pm and they did not call. I called and they said they were running behind and would be here at 3pm. I had stayed home from work and could not afford to stay the whole day. 1/17/2011 - I had rescheduled the appoint for another 8am-12pm window. I was told this appointment would have a note on it to ensure they showed up. No show again and no call. I called and they said they didn't know how long it would be. 1/29/2011 - I scheduled another appointment for a 10am-12pm window. No show and no call. After 10 hours of waiting for this contractor to show up I am not willing to let them touch anything in my house. They do not have a care about the customer, so I highly doubt they would care if they did a good job or not.

I submitted a request for an estimate from the online site and the automated message said I would get a call within an hour to schedule someone to come out. After a few hours and no call I just called them. I would just call directly instead of going through the web site. The ladies that answer the phones are very responsive and friendly. A few hours later a technician came out to the house and took some measurements. He quoted me a price that I felt was within reason, so I order the window. I was told that it would only take a few days to get the window in from the factory and I should expect a call later that week, early next at the latest to schedule my installation. I was a little worried when I hadn't heard anything a week later since I had to put down half the cost of the window as a deposit. So I called to check in and was assured that I would get a call when the window came from the factory. Not even 24-hours later I received the call and scheduled the replacements. When the technician arrived to install the new window, it was the same one that took the initial measurements, so I thought that was good since he was already familiar with my situation. It only took him 45 min to take the old window out and install the new one even though it seemed that the old window was a bit hard to take out. I would definitely hire Glass Doctor again if I have to replace a single broken window, but I don't know about a larger job.

The company arranged for an installer to come to our home on the same day. We were told someone would be here before 5 PM, but he ran late and since it would have been dark by the time he got here, we agreed to reschedule for the following morning. The installer arrived on time the next day, handled the job efficiently despite the frigid temperature, and was extremely courteous to me. The replacement went without any problems, looks good, and doesn't leak. The work has a lifetime guarantee. The work was fully covered by our insurance, so there was no cost to us, and the company handled the insurance claim for us.
