There were issues with punctuality from the beginning. The entire project took twice as long to complete due to various personal issues with Mr. Trantham. The quality of work was adequate at best. In less then a year the deck began falling apart. There were numerous large gaps between boards, exposed nails, uneven lengths of floor boards, and a very wobbly and unsafe side of the deck and stairs. The nightmare of this project really begins here. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach Mr. Trantham to get him to rectify the situation, and being told by him on 2 separate occasions that he would come over and take a look at my issues, and then never showing up or calling, he left me no alternative but to take him to court. Mr. Trantham NEVER showed up for any of the 5 hearings. I was awarded a judgment representing 75% of the deck purchase price as 3/4ths of the deck was falling apart. I have since had my deck pulled down and replaced fearing for the safety of my daughter and family. The only salvageable portion of my deck were the stakes that hold up the deck. I pursued my complaints with the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. As of last week and as a result of my complaints he was issued a heavy fine and revocation of his Virginia's contractor s license.
