I was advised that the work was only warranted for the labor.
The work was completed as needed in a timely manner.
I am going to suggest anyone contracting this company to get the quote in writing. Inspite of asking for it at the outset, they repeatedly said that they would give it in writing once they finished the work and would email me. I found the reason for this after the job was finished. My experience is that the initial price can be rounded UP, any work that needs to be added can be quoted UP, and any jobs that are deducted overall can be quoted DOWN this way. This way, they will have the flexibility to decide what they want to quote as the final number.
I was initially quoted 672.80 for 4 toilet rebuilds (I had asked for a rebuild, but they gave me a quote for a tune-up instead. This could be a communication issue in that I do not know the plumbing lingo, but in my opinion, it showed their lack of interest in trying to understand what I wanted too..) and 3 shower heads replacement. They did not ask any additional information to get a better idea of what I had and wanted, and if not for a referral by my realtor to get them, I would have dropped them there itself, but I persisted.
Next day, I called and said that I might not need 3 shower heads replaced, and would probably need just 2, and they said that I could take off $65 in that case. The day of the service, I called again, asking if they would be replacing the tank-bowl nuts as a part of the process, and they said that it would be $40 more for each of the toilets. at that point, I did not have time, so I said yes.
Once they came, I noticed that they were using the same generic parts that I could have got in HomeDepot, and this p***** me off a little.. When I had called initially, the person who gave me the quote said that they would stand behind only the parts they install, and I guess I incorrectly assumed that they would be installing professional parts. after a few attempts, and missing one leaky gasket, they had finished the 4 toilets, and at that point, after looking at the cheap shower head they brought to replace mine with, I decided not to go with the shower head replacement.
when they gave me the bill, it seemed way higher than what i was expecting, so i told the guy the same, and he called his boss. When i talked to him, he then said that he forgot to take off the shower head replacement cost from it. At this point, the initial quote became $685, and the shower head deduction became $60 (on the phone). He gave the phone to his guy, and they deducted $100 from the original bill he gave me (so, at this point the deduction became $50 instead, per shower head)...
At this point, I was already tired for the day, and did not want to haggle over the details. I however felt that if I had been cautious enough to get the quote in writing, I would not have had this problem. They also told me that they would get me a written detailed invoice in email, and after 4 days, I have yet to see it.
"we always try to bendover backwards for all of our valued customers- this one as I remember was all over the place with change requests and ambiguous scenario request that simply could not be solved over the phone- the parts are name brand and yes anyone can buy them at home depot or lowes- we apologize for any confusion or dissatisfaction that this customer feels- but respectfully and wholeheartedly disagree- Bill Grant- owner- AQUIA STAFFORD AREA PLUMBING INC,"
