Richard the Plumber

I called Richard on Monday morning. He said he would come over after a prior appointment, which he did. He had the appropriate tool to remove the damaged cartridge. He replaced it. He had a new cartridge with him, which he swapped for the one that I had bought when I was going to do the repair myself. I then noticed the leaky valve for the hose spigot because it was next to the house water shut off valve. I had him fix that also. Total time on job was about 90 minutes.

Very efficient and professional; checked his work and verified no leaks. Not sure how he calculated hourly rate ($160 for 1 & 1/4 hours, but his charge was half the estimate of another plumbing company.

I called and left a message at 9am and he called me back within an hour and a half and scheduled to come out the same morning. He replace the faucet and cleaned up afterwards.

We've never had issues with him up until now going on 2017.

Our old house is full of weird plumbing, and Richard has dealt with several issues for us.     Always on time, he arrives and solves the problem.   He knows just what to do, and he has exactly the part that's needed in his truck, truly a workshop on wheels.    And once he's fixed something, it stays fixed.     We would gladly pay a premium for his expertise, yet Richard's charges are always reasonable.   He is outstanding!

He charged $175 plus parts. He was prompt and efficient. He seemed to give me a fair price.

I have used him one time. He is the best with issues of toilet plumbing. He responded right away and fixed the problem. I thought the price was competitive. He was fine. This is the kind of service person you are looking for. So, if I need plumbing work, he is the guy I will call. He is honest.

Very well. Richard was in and out in a little over an hour. Work was performed beyond our expectations. When he left everything was as clean or cleaner than before. Weill definitely be calling Richard in the future.

Scheduled appointment a few days in advance, Complaint was problem with volume of hot water. Upon inspection, Richard determined that flue from hot water heater was blocked and corroded, causing a fire hazard. There were also remains of incinerated mouse inside. He replaced the corroded parts and situated duct work so that moisture would not condense in the duct. I also had him partially drain the hot water heater which had not been done in the 10 years I had it.

I also showed him a valve for water to furnace humidifier that leaked seasonally. He said he could replace it. This turned out to take almost as much time as the flue job because the water from house had to be turned off and drained and the draining was VERY slow even though we flushed all toilets and opened every faucet in the house. He postponed another customer to finish the job.

After he left, I had trouble getting water to flow through the designer spigot of my kitchen sink. He told me to take off the head of the spigot to get out the dirt that came from the plumbing work. At first I could not figure out how to do it but eventually I cleaned it out and the water resumed the flow.

He is professional and reasonably priced. My favorite plumber!!!

CAVEAT: This is not the way to hire a plumber. First, establish price and service, then have the work done. Fortunately, it worked out fine doing it back asward.

I left message explaining problem for Richard on his cell phone. Do to some sort of static problem we were unable to communicate despite numerous calls to and from each other. Shortly thereafter he showed up at my door. I let him in and he went to work. I've replace numerous flush valves but not on a TOTO and I wasn't sure how to proceed because this one looked different. Due to limited pace and sight lines around toilet, it took him a little longer to do the replacement (30+ minutes). I was glad I didn't try it. He noticed that the seat was loose from the floor and he tightened it.

I feel like I now have my plumber for the future.

The valve was leaking and the carpet was wet in the basement and this was the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. Every plumber I called said the earliest they could come would be Monday or Tuesday. I called Richard and left a message on voicemail and he called back in 30 minutes and he said he could be there in 2 1/2 hours. I know traffic was bad on 95 but he arrived promptly. He went right to work and was done in about an hour. We live on a pipe stem driveway on a hill and our water pressure has never been this good! Nice man, worked quickly, I would definitely recommend him!

I love him. He's come out when I've had emergencies and it does not take him long to come. He always works himself in. He's great. When I had to go out of town one night on a trip, I called him to fix the handle in my toilet because I couldn't put it back together. He came within an hour to fix it for me. He was right there. The first time I had him out years ago, he came and fixed something in the shower and he asked me if he could do anything else for me. So I told him that one shower was acting a little weird and he looked at the shower, and he told me that the hot and cold water handles are reversed. He fixed that and didn't charge me anything for it. He's a good guy. I would use his services again in the future.

Richard is excellent!! I called him on his cell and he answered my call. He gave me his next available time slot which was the next day. He arrived promptly when he said he would, and took his tools with him to inspect the situation. He had the part needed on his truck. He was done replacing the broken part in about 20 minutes. He cleaned up afterwards. He works very quickly and efficiently so you know he is not wasting your time. I watched him the entire time because I am not that familiar with plumbing and wanted to learn. He did not seem to mind and told me what he was doing as he went. Afterwards he gave us some advice on some of our older appliances - having just moved in this was wonderful "bonus" information.

The second time he came, it was to fix a disposal. Turned out it needed to be replaced. He made very convincing case for a specific model due to quietness; insulation, motor durability. Turned out to be the best disposal I've ever had.

He is terrific – very charming. He is very prompt and does not do things that are not necessary which saves a lot of money for me. He is very interested in doing the job correctly and not only making money. The price is very reasonable and I have no complaints about his quality of service.

He is very affordable. He gave me his cell number and I called him on a Sunday when I had a problem and he came right over. Very nice man.
