Kings Upholstery & Drapery

It went perfectly. I supplied them a really filthy, worn-out sofa, along with 10 yards of Ultrasuede fabric. They returned to us an amazing, better-than-new sofa. The workmanship was absolutely amazing. Couldn't be happier with the results.

We drove to Kings Upholstery on Rolling Road and looked through their many sample books until we found a fabric and pattern we liked. The firm picked up our loveseat and returned it within the time they designated. The workmanship is high quality: stripes and piping are aligned, seams are straight, and pleats lay flat. Last but not least, the loveseat is as comfortable as we remembered.

I have never had a complaint about their work.

King Upholstery and Drapery is the best!  We took a 24 year old wingback chair in for an estimate.  After discussing the fabric, we were told it would be cheaper to purchase the fabric elsewhere (at half the cost).  Kathy was a pleasure to work with.  She estimated it would take 3-4 weeks to get the chair done.  It took 5 weeks but it was well worth the wait.  We provided a stripe fabric and didn't know how the match would go.  To say the least, the match was perfect.  Even to the extent of the arm covers (which we weren't charged for since we brought and picked the chair up) were perfectly matched.  Looking at the chair all lines are straight and the match between back, cushion and front are exact.  The roll neck pillow was made from the same fabric and came out great.  I highly recommend this vendor.

They quoted a price, and suggested fabric yardage for my loveseat. They finished the work in a timely fashion and returned remaining fabric. The loveseat looked lovely as a result.

I found them on Angie's List. I have never used them before. They did an excellent job. It took them 2 weeks to complete the job. I took it there for them to look at, and then I picked it up, because it was easy to do. I haven't had any issues. They were a little expensive, but they did an unbelievable job.

King Upholstery had previously made slipcovers for my club chairs, and covered the seats for my dining-room chairs, so I knew I would have exemplary service for the sofa. But Kathy outdid herself giving me personal service for the sofa. After I had selected the fabric to be used, and placed the order, she telephoned the next day to point out that the fabric was not washable, so would be unsuitable for a slipcover. Upholstery was not much more expensive, so I opted for that. About ten days later, the sofa was picked up from my home, and a little over two weeks later, returned beautifully upholstered. I couldn't be happier.

I went to the shop on Rolling Road in Springfield, VA to describe the work I needed done, and to select the fabric. They had a huge selection of fabrics to choose from, I made my selection and described the chairs, and was given an estimate. Made a deposit of not quite half the total amount. About three days later, they came to pick up one of the chairs. I explained that I was going out of town for the next two weeks, and would like to have the chairs finished after I came back, as I had a family get-together coming up soon. When I returned, I called the shop to let them know I was home, and on the following Saturday they delivered the finished slipcovers, installing them on the chairs in my home. They fit beautifully, and I am so pleased I plan to have them make a slipcover for my couch very soon.

I came into the shop after searching for an upholstery shop online. I saw the good reviews for this place, and they were close to my home. I needed a quick sewing job on a specialty item that required a heavy duty sewing machine. This was not something that they normally do, but were very nice and accommodating, and were able to do the job for me while I waited. I was very grateful, and they charged me a very fair price. I would recommend them and use them again if I had upholstery needs.

I have used Kings for upholstery in the past with excellent results. This was the first time I had curtains made by Mrs. King. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. I couldn't be more pleased with the high quality of the curtains and valances.
I provided the fabric and lining. Mrs King spent time with me going over my order to ensure that I would receive everything that I wanted. One of the fabrics has a larger pattern/repeat. When I told them I was hoping to have extra fabric to use for pillows, they planned ahead and figured out the best way to cut the larger print fabric in order to leave me with enough fabric for my pillows.
They are a busy shop, but will always have your project ready for you when they say it will be done. They are definitely worth using for your upholstery or drapery projects.

My new cat used my sofa as a scratch pad and ruined the upholstery on a relatively new sofa. I used Angies List and friends to get recommendations and then either called or visited their shops. My interaction with the other companies was lukewarm. In contrast, when i visited Kings Upholstery, they were very helpful, friendly and busy (a good sign). The owner showed me their fabric samples and gave me a yardage amount that would be needed for the job. In addition, their estimate on the labor was competitive and lower than the other two. I found fabric on sale elsewhere but they had a great selection and offered a discount as well. I also mentioned that it was my only sofa and if they could expedite in any way, it would be very helpful. She scheduled me for a Sat pickup two weeks in the future when they could start work on the sofa. They arrived on time and maneuvered my sofa from my 2d floor around a tight staircase. They completed the work in only 2 weeks. Amazing. But more amazing is how nice the sofa looks. They did a fantastic job on the reupholstery job and they even made complimentary arm covers which i had not asked for. They delivered it and set it up. Great job and service. I like knowing that my business went to a family-run quality shop. I will definitely use them again.

Work is beautiful and high quality. Everything is well done, including
the arm covers which are fitted well and have removable pins to hold
them into into place. My sofa was in good shape and it did not need
any extra work besides new upholstery. Small family shop that takes
pride in their work. My sister in lay sent me to them and I will
definitely use them again.
I stopped by one day to talk to Mrs King and to look at fabric. When I found fabric at another store, I called her and she told me how much to get.
They picked up my sofa the same day I arranged for the service and delivered the sofa at the
time they said they would be at my house. Work completion took 3 weeks
- exactly what they told me.

Excellent service in terms of quality, price, and timeliness. I needed the chairs recovered in time for Thanksgiving, even though the material I had ordered only arrived a week before the holiday. The chairs were ready early. The prior cushioning sagged and was getting uncomfortable. The newly done chairs provide so much more support. The fabric was centered exactly the same on all six chairs, as requested. I highly recommend this upholstery shop.

The price was competitive, though not cheap. They did not push for supplying the material, though in the end I purchased through them (researching on line, I discovered that upholstery material can be a daunting subject). The work was completed within the time they quoted, to a high quality.

This was marvelous. I was looking online for quotes regarding slipcovering, but found King's on Angie's List and gave them a call. The price for upholstering my gigantic angled behemoth of a sofa was very reasonable after having compared prices even just for slipcovers (which would look a bit too casual), so I decided to have it recovered in a parisian script fabric. I loved the sofa, about 15 years old and very good quality, but it was dated by the upholstery, skirting, and fat curved arms. I asked them whether they could de-skirt it and rework the arms, and they said they'd try and give me a call to see if what they could do was what i had in mind. I went out to see the sofa before it was re-upholstered, and they'd done beautiful work, taking the arms down and making them into a sleeker line, and adding reinforcement around the bottom of the sofa. About a week or so after that, they delivered the sofa--and it is stunning. The upholstering is excellent, the script pattern marches correctly around the back, sides, and each cushion; it is nicely detailed with piping around the cushions; they included armcovers, elegantly tacked to the side of the sofa so they won't curve and flop out of the sleek line--I could not be more impressed. It's a new sofa, by golly! The people at King's were honest, professional, craftsmen, and I would not even consider going anywhere else if I need another piece done. Fantastic experience, well worth the price--the re-working of the arms and bottom cost about $350 out of the total amount--and quickly done, including pickup and delivery.
