J and P is fantastic! Because Mr. Tolson had already done a challenging cooktop installation for us, we hoped he could tackle three additional projects. He arrived on time and with everything needed -- even supplies we hadn't thought to request. Mr. Tolson made quick work of our projects. We totally recommend him!

Great electrician, great service. We had a group of outlets that died, including the one that our standalone freezer was plugged into. He checked everything carefully, moving the freezer to check its outlet. He figured out that the freezer blew the circuit. This was important because we initially called an appliance repairman when the freezer stopped working. That repairman said the freezer was okay, but all the outlets were dead. We were surprised because the freezer had been making a whining sound. As it turns out, when you plug in the freezer, it blows the circuit. All the outlets are now working, and Mr. Tolson had a recommendation for a good repair company. In the past he has installed ceiling lights and ceiling fans for us. He is quick, efficient, neat, and prompt.
And the amazing part: I asked about a beloved battery-operated Christmas stuffed toy that had been broken for years. I had tried to get it working for my husband's birthday. He fixed it in about 5 minutes at no charge, even though I offered to pay.

Mr. Tolson returned our initial call promptly and scheduled a visit for just a few days away. On the day of the appointment, he called to let us know he'd be a little late. He immediately diagnosed our problem and -- here's the amazing thing -- he had a replacement fan ready to install. I had expected to have to schedule the work for another day, but no -- he took care of us in just over an hour. Mr. Tolson was 100% professional and courteous, and his charge was extremely reasonable. Now we're already thinking of other projects to ask him to help with! Our experience with Mr. Tolson could not have been better.

Showed up on time. Main contractor plus an assistant/apprentice. Everything works but not perfectly. Ceiling fan/light combo turns itself on regularly as does the attached light, randomly. Contractor suggested there could be problem with the ceiling fan itself and not the installation. Contractor told me to change batteries in remote control to possibly fix problem. Batteries replaced and problem persists. Fixture over table installed nicely and it works just fine; Quite pleased with this part of the work. Main problems with this experience: Ceiling fan combo does not work as it should, apprentice did not seem very confident but was in charge of some of ceiling fan installation, contractor was fine with receiving payment and leaving without ceiling fan/light combo working as it should. My fault possibly for paying before everything worked to my satisfaction. Can't remember how much we paid but it was a competitive rate. Should have called them back out soon after work was done to help me fix problem but much too late now. I will need to hire another electrician to troubleshoot and remedy the problem.

I have absolutely no dislikes about them. They have installed fans for us. They have also installed electrical circuits. They came out today to get some electrical work done for us. They will also be doing some outdoor electrical work. We got their phone number from one of the lamp stores from where we had purchased some fans before and we had good luck with the store. So, we asked them for the name of the electrician whom they had sent before to install the fans. The electricians didn’t want to hook up the fan to an existing power source. They had to bring power source to fix both the fans. We had 2 lights which were taken down and replaced which cost us 40 $ for each light. They were very reasonable. If needed, we would use their services again in the future.

I looked for names and 3 electrical contractors in my area of Fairfax County, VA. John Tolson was the first of the 3 I called. He called me back later that day and set a date and approxiamte arival time to inspect what my problems were. He arrived on time, I showed him where the problems were located. He and Pam went right to work. Counting their shopping time (about 45 minutes), they were on the job for a bit less than 3 hours. Cost of two noew motion and photo sensor fixtures was included in the $305.00 bill total.

He showed around the time he said he would. He took him about two hours. He did a good job. Anytime he went to do something he showed me what he was doing and made sure it was okay. I know he is reliable and does a good job.

John returned my call in a timely manner. He quoted an approximate cost over the phone to do the work and indicated he could come out in the afternoon that same day. An hour or so later John called back indicating his schedule had changed if I wanted he could come earlier (which I accepted). John showed upon time and made quick work of disconnecting the old range and putting in an outlet. He offered to help me bring my new stove up the stairs to plug in, which I declined, as I had the delivery people coming back to remove the old stove and bring the new one up to my kitchen. John was extremely friendly, efficient and cleaned up after himself.

Great job. Very reasonable. This is the 3rd time I have used J and P and would call them again when I need electrical work completed.

John, this time, as every other time I've had him do work, met my expectations and more. To install the recessed lights he had to remove the old fixture, carefully measure and cut the dry wall, create the electrical connections needed, install the lamps and the new switches and replace the dry wall hole that was left from the old fixture. He and his assistant did excellent work and thoroughly cleaned up afterward. He even made a suggestion that improved my project. He was recommended to me seven years ago when I changed the dining room light. On another occasion, he came right away, to repair a major problem caused by a deck installer. He has corrected small problems (bathroom fan not working) as well as large ones, professionally, courteously and to my complete satisfaction.
