We had a great experience with Hatcher’s, from the estimate process to the final product. Everyone was professional and friendly, they helped us choose a stain that looks great in the house. We would use them again.

It went exceptionally well. Professional team and very helpful in choosing right floor and stain. They also removed the toilet and sink closet when I wasn’t able to find a plumber to do it. They went above and beyond. Very punctual and the workmanship was simply exceptional. I wouldn’t chose anyone else to install my floors in the future. I already recommended Hatcher’s to a couple of my acquaintances.

Stay away.... If any problems are encountered, no matter how small (a 15 minute patch job for a few surface cracks in my concrete flooring), you will be totally overcharged for them. The workers installed the flooring well, however, it came at a high price (of about 50% more of the original estimate). Since I encountered a problem that didn't allow the workers to install in one day, they had to return the next day. I made a trip to the office and spoke to the owner about the exorbitant quote of the additional work for such a short amount of time in labor, and was told I was making up the cost of his workers not having a job to go to that afternoon and that they would have to return the next day rather than go on to the next job. It's one thing to be charged for labor and materials for any additional work, but to hold the customer hostage to pay for the way he schedules his crew is totally egregious. As my carpet and padding were already removed as well as the fact that I had already bought my flooring and underlay (which they walked off with my extra underlay), my options were limited. Furthermore, the owner went on to say that he didn't make any money off of me since I provided my own flooring. (How dare I go find and purchase flooring that matches what was already installed in the rest of my residence). They were almost 2 hours late the next day when they did come back to install. I've already been approached by two neighbors asking about what I had done. I've already told them to look else where for an installer. Poor, poor customer service. Should have paid attention to some of these other reviews that rated this company as an "F".
Response from HATCHER'S FLOORS, INC.

"We are sorry that your experience with us was not pleasant. We tried to help by discounting the agreed upon cost for the extra work. Also, on the final invoice, we discounted the agreed upon cost of the original work. We are glad you like the quality of work that was performed. Thank you for your feedback. We will use it to going forward to improve our customer service."

Enrique and Christian did a very professional job and I am really pleased with the carpeting. The stairs are really pretty. They arrived on time and diligently performed the work, including careful clean-up.

Beautiful work, done on time. Company is flexible, was able to adjust schedule when recent storms caused power outages and made our whole schedule slip a week. I did get a second estimate and Hatcher happened to be a little less expensive to boot! Have used Hatcher Floors twice before on even large projects - all were done to my total satisfaction. Please note that even though the founder is no longer with us, Shannon has maintained the same quality and professionalism making this another great experience!

They did not have the wood to repair the flooring that I needed to have done. They had a $500 minimum, which was good, but they didn't have the wood. They wouldn't do anything for less than $500.They guy was good, he was thorough, and he explained everything. The guy was professional, knowledgeable, and he was up front. No hidden agenda's. I would use them again if I had the wood.

A traumatic experience. Well over 45 days after Hatcher's applied an oil-based polyurethane finish, we could not stay in the house for longer than an hour without feeling physically ill with dizziness, headaches and nausea. 45 days is the max time required for fumes to abate. What's more, when we asked for the name of the chemical applied so that we could investigate it ourselves, they refused to give us the information initially. We spent hundreds of dollars on air quality tests over the course of two months to judge whether it would be safe for my pregnant wife to enter the house. After Hatcher's showed no interest in rectifying the situation, we decided to have all the floors sanded, re-stained and re-finished by another company to remove the chemicals completely. This ultimately worked for us. In correspondence, Hatcher's pointed to possible contaminants on the surface but the problem was worst in the rooms where the wood was brand new and installed by Hatcher's, so contaminants would not have been the cause or it would have been their fault for introducing them. Even if their work had been done properly, which it clearly was not, Hatcher's had advised us that we could move in only 3 days after the work was done. So we moved our belongings into the new house. After fleeing back to our old house because of the fumes, we lived in limbo, paying monthly rent and mortgage for two homes. In correspondence, Dave, Ed and Tom were utterly remorseless and threatened to counter any legal action we pursued. Providing only the most pathetic rationale, they said to us in a letter, "I’m sure that the finish was properly applied." In summary, Hatcher's had zero interest in our satisfaction.

I stopped because when I asked if they were licensed and bonded , Dave Hatcher said they have A+ rating and bonding is not necessary. His tone was harsh and arrogant. He also did not reply to my emails about this and did not send the contract for me to review as he said he would. They may do good work, but they are not very customer friendly and left me with much uneasiness due to non response to emails and harsh tone ( for which he did apologize).

It took them a couple of weeks. They did a nice job on the floors, but they were very hard to contact and they didn?t keep us informed. I had issues with them. The price seemed to be reasonable for the amount of work they did.

We got three different quotes and they were all pretty much in the same ball park. They did a pretty good job. We get a lot of compliments on the floor, but I can see some areas where it?s a little bit uneven. But mostly, I would say they did a fantastic job considering what they were dealing with.

I would have to call them and they wouldn?t respond. They were not good in none of those areas in terms of communication. They took a little bit longer than they said they would and different things. When you call someone and they don?t call you back and they have the key to your house, and you can?t do anything until you hear from them, and you have to call them and call them. I don?t think that?s professional.

Because, they did the floor and did a good job on it, I probably wouldn?t call somebody else. Because, they know what stain, they mixed the stain for the floor. So, I would more less feel like I would have to call them. Who knows, maybe it was just that one person that works there that is pretty irresponsible, it?s the son of the owner.

They did a really good job, but the problem was the communication. I had to call them to find out when they would first come and whether they would need a key made or how that was going to be done. I feel like I pretty much did most of the communication that was done. I sent them emails, they didn?t respond. I tried calling, they didn?t respond.

The one time I called them, I think I got his father and I felt badly, because apparently, his father had been sick. So, the father immediately had his son call. So, I think it?s his son, I don?t think it?s his dad. Maybe it was just a period of time when they were really busy, but I see that they?re advertising all the time. They advertise every week in the paper.

It went very well. The installers did an excellent job and the new floors are stunning. And, Hatcher's pricing was the best of five estimates that we got.

I needed carpet removed, a basement leveled and new flooring installed in a sixteen day window between buying a house and moving in. My mother highly recommended Hatcher's because they've refinished her floors multiple times. They met my time line, did a great job cleaning up, were super communicative throughout and the floors look awesome.

We bought a home recently and hired Dave Hatcher and his staff to help repair and refinish entire second floor and install part of the 1st floor and and tooth in with the existing hardwood flooring. He quote us 15K for the whole thing. There were some misunderstanding of the work scope (e.g. squeaky sound repair we thought was included in the pricing) and some delay of work by another contractor (the mud room joist repairs, closet wall removal). Dave was out of town but he was mis-informed about some of the situation by his staff, so instead of allowing us to help clarify the confusion, he yelled at us over the phone, called us "lier" and repeatedly said "I will charge you extra.... I will make you pay this...." while the delay of the joist repair and closet wall removal didn't really delay his crew's floor installation and repair as scheduled. We agreed to meet and show him at house at 1:30pm yesterday he requested, and we patiently waited for him for 4 hours at the empty house because we really wanted to make it work. He finally showed up at 5:45pm but stormed off shortly and leaving us feeling very sad and confused. He couldn't get pass the fact that we as the home owners "did nothing". He complained about things like we promised to provide the material and *brought it in* and we did as promised but it was in the basement but not in the living room as where the staff thought was... he complained and stormed off without giving us the chance to even go over the pricing. None of issues he complained about was critical or on the critical path in our opinion. We feel he is over reacting and using it as a tactic to charge us more. Work is only halfway done and we really don't want to do business with him anymore but not sure how to proceed since he is extremely difficult to communicate with.

Ed came over to give me an estimate for the work that needed to be done. He was punctual, knowledgable and professional. They dropped off the wood to acclimate the day after I signed the contract and were able to start work the following week.  The whole thing took about a week and I am so happy with the results. The floors are just beautiful.

Our 50 year old home was in need of floor refinishing. Also, we wanted to extend the hardwood into a family room addition that had been finished with a combination Pergo brand laminate and carpeting and adjoining kitchen that also had laminate. We had a previous estimate to refinish existing floors, but they didn't want to tackle extending the hardwood into the family room. I found Hatcher's Floors on Angie's List and gave them a call, and they were able to schedule an estimate for the following Saturday morning. Dave Hatcher arrived promptly at the scheduled time and talked with us about options for extending the floor as well as refinishing the existing floor. He took lots of measurements and followed up with a written estimate the following Tuesday morning.
The removal of the laminate and carpeting, installation of new hardwood, a couple of repairs to existing floors, plus refinishing of three bedrooms, closets, common areas and living room, was more expensive than we were hoping but less than we feared - in other words, we thought the estimate was fair for all the work involved.
The new flooring was delivered 12/21 and allowed to acclimate for a week before the installation began bright and early on 12/28. The installation team was able to correct a height defect in the flooring of the family room addition by adding 3/4" plywood over the existing subfloor to make the finished installation perfectly (and I mean perfectly) level with the existing floor. We opted to have the new floor "toothed in" to the old floor to give it an "always been there" appearance.  The team of two worked a 12 hour day to finish in one day - we were amazed with the result.  The finishing/refinishing took place over the following Wed, Sat, and Monday (yesterday) - each day getting another light sanding and coat of satin finish water-based polyurethane. The finished product is nothing short of amazing! Thanks Hatcher's Floors for a beautiful job - completed quickly and efficiently.
