"We are sorry that your experience with us was not pleasant. We tried to help by discounting the agreed upon cost for the extra work. Also, on the final invoice, we discounted the agreed upon cost of the original work. We are glad you like the quality of work that was performed. Thank you for your feedback. We will use it to going forward to improve our customer service."
We got three different quotes and they were all pretty much in the same ball park. They did a pretty good job. We get a lot of compliments on the floor, but I can see some areas where it?s a little bit uneven. But mostly, I would say they did a fantastic job considering what they were dealing with.
I would have to call them and they wouldn?t respond. They were not good in none of those areas in terms of communication. They took a little bit longer than they said they would and different things. When you call someone and they don?t call you back and they have the key to your house, and you can?t do anything until you hear from them, and you have to call them and call them. I don?t think that?s professional.
Because, they did the floor and did a good job on it, I probably wouldn?t call somebody else. Because, they know what stain, they mixed the stain for the floor. So, I would more less feel like I would have to call them. Who knows, maybe it was just that one person that works there that is pretty irresponsible, it?s the son of the owner.
They did a really good job, but the problem was the communication. I had to call them to find out when they would first come and whether they would need a key made or how that was going to be done. I feel like I pretty much did most of the communication that was done. I sent them emails, they didn?t respond. I tried calling, they didn?t respond.
The one time I called them, I think I got his father and I felt badly, because apparently, his father had been sick. So, the father immediately had his son call. So, I think it?s his son, I don?t think it?s his dad. Maybe it was just a period of time when they were really busy, but I see that they?re advertising all the time. They advertise every week in the paper.
The removal of the laminate and carpeting, installation of new hardwood, a couple of repairs to existing floors, plus refinishing of three bedrooms, closets, common areas and living room, was more expensive than we were hoping but less than we feared - in other words, we thought the estimate was fair for all the work involved.
The new flooring was delivered 12/21 and allowed to acclimate for a week before the installation began bright and early on 12/28. The installation team was able to correct a height defect in the flooring of the family room addition by adding 3/4" plywood over the existing subfloor to make the finished installation perfectly (and I mean perfectly) level with the existing floor. We opted to have the new floor "toothed in" to the old floor to give it an "always been there" appearance. The team of two worked a 12 hour day to finish in one day - we were amazed with the result. The finishing/refinishing took place over the following Wed, Sat, and Monday (yesterday) - each day getting another light sanding and coat of satin finish water-based polyurethane. The finished product is nothing short of amazing! Thanks Hatcher's Floors for a beautiful job - completed quickly and efficiently.
