Five Star Painting of Springfield

Gordon is so kind and friendly, that goes far in my book! When we finally picked paint (which took a while because of our indecisiveness), Gordon got us right onto the schedule. His guys were friendly and efficient, and really wanted to make sure they did what we needed. Overall, great job and very affordable!

The sales rep came and was very courteous and professional. Measured all the rooms and provided a detailed explanation regarding what would be number of coats, colors, finish etc. of the quotes we received they were not the cheapest but were the most thorough. That with there high rating on your site locked in the deal. The Rep then reached you to lock in the color selection and get the by room list of color and finish. One color needed to be matched when the team arrived on the first day. Four work days later and a return trip there are still May defects in the quality of there work. All the colors were spot but they were very sloppy with patching and cut work. There was a lot of sand residue, shoddy work around outlets and paint drops on floors. This was by no means the quality we thought we would receive based on the Sales Reps explanation.

They did an amazing job, excellent customer service, the job was started earlier than expected, they got it done in a day and they followed up with us/kept us informed the entire process. They were wonderful to work with.

It went very well. Some mistakes were made regarding paint color and sheen but these were quickly corrected. overall job was excellent.

This contractor, represented by G. Kownack, ordered his subcontractor crew off a deck refinishing job, in violation of a specific written contract for sanding the deck smooth and then staining it with a much lighter-colored natural cedar stain, after I expressed my dissatisfaction with the light hand-sanding job that was being done and that did not produce the smooth surface I desired or that was required to remove a much darker, reddish, preexisting, acrylic stain. I then contacted "Five Star" Painting via e-mail outlining what had happened and threatened to sue for breach of contract unless the full deposit I had made toward this job was immediately refunded. I received a very quick response from a co-owner assuring me that it would, and it has been. There were several other snafus that preceded this event. First, my initial appointment was canceled and rescheduled for a later date. Second, I had twice pointed out to G. K. that I had very little space inside my narrow sunroom for the plants, planters and deck chairs on the deck and suggested that they could be temporarily placed on the L-shaped, large bench on the deck while the deck floor was being prepared and then stained. G.K. agreed, or at least did not disagree, with that suggestion. Yet, when he arrived on-site, he refused to start work, even with just 3 empty planters and 3 deck chairs still on the deck because I had already moved all the plants inside the sunroom prior to his arrival as a precaution to protect the plants. Therefore, I was forced, at the very last minute, also to remove those items and cram them into my already overcrowded sunroom. Finally, before G. K. arrived, I found an unidentified van that did not bear the "5Star" logo parked in my driveway blocking the exit from my garage. The driver of the van had walked off and was nowhere to be seen. I was about to call the Alexandria Police Department to have the vehicle removed, when G. K. finally arrived and explained that the van belonged to a "5Star" subcontractor. This is the worst experience with any business, barring none, that I have ever had to endure. G.K.'s rude, unprofessional and, indeed, inexplicably irrational conduct is unacceptable and the company should take the appropriate and logical action. My rating would be a zero, had it not been for the prompt refund of my down payment

Tim Siegel and his company, Five Star Painting are amazing!! I had 6 painting companies give me estimates on interior painting and I found them to be the most competitive with their pricing. I liked the fact that he included the paint in his estimate and priced each room individually so, I knew exactly what I was paying for and there where no hidden costs! Five Star also provides financing with no interest. Bonus!! Because of the financing I decided to add a few more rooms. They also provide an interior decorator based on the size of the project. Also a bonus.
The day of the project I had to work. When I arrived home I was amazed. It was PERFECT. I loved the colors and the work was very professional. I plan on having Five Star paint the remaining rooms in my home. Tim and his crew were very professional and top NOTCH. I would truly recommend them. The services were beyond my expectations.
