FISCHER HARDWARE

I would go out of my way to shop there. They have the stock of things I would expect to find in a hardware store. They have a place to have several older employees who wander around helping the customers. They all are experts in their fields, like retired contractors or plumbers. I had to rebuild my bathroom. I had a plumbing problem. We spent a lot of money and still it never got fixed. I went there and they helped me with that. Their price is high. I would use them in the future.

Unlike the regular name home improvement stores, the folks give great advice and know their products very well. We think it is the best place by far if you want quality service. It is a little costly, but I continue to go there simply because I can depend on them.

Compared to big box stores (i.e, Home Depot), Fischers is not always cheaper and and may not have the variety in some departments. But it is the only place to go if you want someone to answer a question or point you to the right item. This a friendly place where no one feels rushed. If you are tired of chain stores with impossible parking and salespeople who do not know or care about their products, Fischers is worth a few extra pennies. And it is a local business that should be supported in the face of price-cutting competition.

My husband goes to this store often and is constantly impressed with the level of service and the knowledge of the staff. We finally bought a new fridge with ice and water in the door and didn't anticipate any problems as there was an existing water line. When we hooked up the water line we had no pressure and we were only getting drips out of the dispenser, so my husband went to Fischer's Hardware. The gentleman there told him the hole in the water pipe wasn't large enough and showed him all the parts he needed to change out the old water line hook up. We now have a perfect flow from the fridge water dispenser and my son's friends comment on how much faster they can get a glass of water from our fridge then they can from their own!

No better hardware (plus more) store in the DC area.

Each time we shop here, we're amazed at the service and variety here. It's like stepping back in time to the good old days of neighborhood hardware stores. We've never been disappointed. There is always an employee available to help you and understand your project. It's also a great place for Christmas gifts. Their kitchen aisles have the coolest things!
