A herniated disc necessitated a modification to my bathroom. Handicap bars were needed. Metal studs in the wall required that proper framing be built to support my weight. Problem was resolved by cutting a hole in drywall on the other side of the bathroom wall, building the support/framing, installing the handicap bars, putting in new drywall, and then painting the wall. Work was executed flawlessly. Owner of this company is an excellent problem solver, honest, hardworking, pays attention to detail and easy to work with.

It all started with a herniated disk in my lower back. I had temporarily moved in with a friend for the initial healing process. I was concerned about bathroom safety when I returned home. My apartment complex told me to hire a contractor to have the handicap bars installed properly. I saw the work that Doug had done at my friend's house (replaced all of her windows). His work was flawless and so I contacted Doug and told him what I needed. He gave me a price quote and we scheduled a date for the work to begin. When the work began he assessed the my bathroom and bathtub. He quickly determined that I had metal studs in my wall. He quickly laid out a strategy and gameplan. The wall would need to be opened up, the wooden supports built/placed into the wall, the handicap bars installed, and the wall repaired. The strategy was to go through the dining room wall to build the supports, install the handicap bars, patch the drywall, and paint the wall. The other choice was to go through the tile wall in the bathroom - which would have added the complication of the extra time needed to match the tiles and/or re-tile the whole tub area. During the assessment of my bathroom and bathtub, he noted and commented to me that my bathtub had not been installed correctly, (I had suspected this when it was replaced 9 months earlier), and that my bathtub needed to be re-caulked. In addition to the handicap bar installation and drywall repair, my bathtub was re-caulked. Today, you can't even tell that a big hole was cut in my wall and the handicap bars are working quite well. I was and still am completely satisfied with the work that was done. I highly recommend this contractor for all of your rennovation needs. I am looking to buy a home and when I do, I will definitely be calling Doug for all of my home rennovation/repair needs.
