Highly recommended. Reynolds did kitchen and basement remodeling for our house. Great work from the beginning to the end. He and his team are professional, very easy to work with and able to solve any issue came up. They always show up on time and are responsive. They did their best to make the job done perfectly. We are happy to find Reynolds as our contractor. We would definitely use their services in the future.

My home needed some major home improvements to get certain areas up to today’s standards. The owner of the company, Reynolds Grimes went through our home and made recommendations for needed upgrades/updates. He provided a fair and reasonable quote and more importantly was able to meet our self-imposed deadlines. I had contractors coming and going each day and was kept informed by Reynolds every step of the way. Reynolds grew up in this area and knows it very well. He’s owned his company for over 34 years. Reynolds and his team were a pleasure to work with. All work
was performed on budget and on time (or
early). During our almost five-month
process, we were constantly informed on each step of the renovation. Contemporary remodeling has a network of
suppliers and design services available, and it allowed us to have many choices
for our major remodel ? everything from appliances, to finishes, to designing
the custom cabinetry and added details with make our home truly ours.
Our cost estimates and contracts were clearly spelled out
along with the payment scheduled and scope of work. We were able to alter the scope of work as
needed to add additional options not covered by the original contract, and we
had the flexibility to ask for changes to the previously agreed-upon scope of
work as long as they were included in the agreed cost.
All subcontractors and trade professionals performed work to
standard and were polite, punctual, and supervised by the Contemporary Remodeling
team. Additionally, we had no issues
with permits; this process was seamless and transparent to us as homeowners.
Overall, we could not be happier with the investment we made
in our home and the quality of the craftsmanship. We plan to hire Contemporary remodeling for
future renovations, both interior and exterior, in the coming years.

"Thank you for the review. We are constantly trying to improve our process and scheduling procedures. This past Winter (2014-2015) was one of the worst we've seen in twenty years. That being said, this was a whole home remodel and despite weather delays, and product selection delays, remodeling a whole home from the foundation, entire interior (floors, walls, kitchen, and 2 bathrooms), screened in porch, garage, and patio takes a significant amount of time. We do appreciate the feed back and will work to avoid delays we can prevent in the future. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!"

Reynolds, John, and the crew of Contemporary Remodeling have done an absolute top-notch job on everything they have undertaken for us in our recent home updating. The new windows and doors were installed quickly and problem free, and are definitely making our home more comfortable and attractive.
The bathroom work has been extensive, but it has gone amazingly smoothly. Reynolds worked closely with us from design to completion, ensuring that the project was on track and meeting our expectations. The estimate was reasonable and realistic; the work schedule was well-planned and executed. The workers were careful, conscientious and courteous. We felt confident that the property was in good hands while the teams were working onsite.

The window quality was very good for the price and the installation was also well done. We were very pleased and still are, 4 years later. However we encountered two problems with working with CR. First, there was some tape of some sort left on the windows after installation and they refused to come out and remove it. That left my husband and I to patiently scrape the windows, hanging out from the second floor, with neither the tools nor the expertise to do what they could have easily done in much less time. CR blamed the general contractor who was doing the other renovation work and was generally very uncooperative.
The second thing that was quite odd was that CR wanted immediate payment of the balance of the purchase price on the day that the work was completed. I was on a business trip out of the country and could not pay until the end of the week, but the owner of CR through a fit and I had to make an online payment from my laptop in my hotel room while in South America. It was quite strange because this company had been recommended to us by a neighbor and we knew the owner of CR socially through them, so it wasn't as if we were complete strangers and would run off somewhere without paying the balance of the bill.
It was very unfortunate that the owner's volatile and argumentative behavior led us to never want to have contact with Contemporary Remodeling again, despite the good quality installation job and price point, as well as our need for additional replacement windows in our house.

As you requested at the time, we coordinated our window installation with your siding contractor (SC) and installed the Tyvek tape at his request. He indicated he would remove the tape during the installation of your siding as the siding required installation after the window installation was complete. We simply honored his request. Had I known the tape was not removed and was a concern of yours, I’d have been happy to help as I always pride myself on customer satisfaction and referrals. This was our first time using Contemporary Remodeling. We had our siding and a raised deck replaced. Reynolds and his team were a pleasure to work with. He was completive in pricing, had a very high standard of craftsmanship with an on time delivery. His knowledge and experience helped guide us to a great end result.
It can be difficult to find a Contractor that you can rely on and trust to do things the correct way. We found this in contemporary Remodeling and would definitely use their services in the future.

Contemporary Remodeling replaced the siding on our 1960's rambler, completely transforming the look. It's gorgeous now, and I'm proud of my home, which wasn't always the case. We did choose a very high-end product which also helped to make a difference, but Reynolds Grimes and his crew were top notch, and my home looks so beautiful now. They worked very carefully when they put the siding up, and I could tell they wanted to do a quality job, not just rush through it and get to the next job. Now our neighbors can't stop commenting on how nice our house looks!
I HIGHLY recommend them for siding. Reynolds knows what he's doing and he's honest.

Contemporary Remodeling was great. The owner was helpful during the ordering process and was involved in the installation. They were on-time for the appointment, took great care to maintain the integrity of the window frame (it's difficult to remove aluminum windows because they have fins built into the frame), and cleaned up throughout the job. When one of the windows from the factory was the wrong size, they rush ordered the correct window and had it installed in about one week and at my convenience. I highly recommend them.

The entire process was an excellent experience from beginning to end of project. I found the contractor while searching for companies that installed windows and patio doors and contacted Contemporary Remodeling for an estimate of the work. The company owner, Reynolds Grimes, certainly knew his product and gave valuable information and suggestions during the review and a very good estimate of the work. He kept in touch each step from when the windows and patio door arrived at the warehouse, to setting up the day and time the crew would arrive, and called to ensure the work was done right and I was satisfied with everything including cleanup.
The work crew showed up on time and went right to work. Obviously the crew chef and the two workman knew their jobs and there was little said in getting started to completion of the job. They were completely professional. The installation went quickly, competently, and they did a great cleanup. Particular attention was given to ensure the windows and patio door were level, and extra attention during insulation and caulking. Windows and patio door look great.
Contractors who call and return calls are always appreciated and this company has great customer service. The owner is on top of his projects. The crew was highly trained and professional. I certainly recommend the company and would use them again for other projects.

Reynolds from Contemporary Remodeling was an absolute pleasure to work with!
One of Reynold's clear strengths is his communication. When we called him with questions, he typically answered the phone immediately, and - if he didn't - he called us back promptly. This was a huge contrast to a contractor we worked with previously, so we were very relieved. Also, Reynold's seemed committed to help us problem solve situations. We were overcharged for our granite sink top, and Reynolds helped us by calling the company we ordered from and getting us the correct price. Additionally, our house is 50+ years old, so some issues came up with our pipes while they were doing our job. Reynolds helped us address these issues at a very fair price.
Another strength of Contemporary Remodeling is their respect for our space. I am pregnant and was worried about the fumes/mess that come along with a renovation. Reynolds and his team were very diligent about keeping the mess contained. They brought tarps, paper to protect our floors, and plastic dust barrier zip walls. Again, this was worlds different from the measures taken by a contractor we previously worked with.
A third strength of Contemporary Remodeling is their employees. Javier was the employee that was at our house on a daily basis. He was absolutely fantastic! It was clear that he had a very busy schedule, but he usually kept us updated about when he would be arriving and leaving, and he finished our job on time. Also, he worked quickly and efficiently, and the quality of work was spectacular.
Reynolds' pricing was comparable to other A-rated contractors we interviewed on Angie's List, but we like the way he did his break down better. That is, Reynolds gave us a price for the labor only, and we were in charge of purchasing most of the materials. We liked this a lot, because we knew exactly how much we were spending on what.
Overall, Contemporary Remodeling went above and beyond for us, and we would highly recommend them to anyone else looking to do a renovation for a kitchen or bathroom. Also, we are planning to contact Reynolds in the spring for some work we want to do the attic space and our gutters, and maybe even a few other projects we can dig up :-)

(May 13, 2013) I submitted a form on the company's website requesting an estimate. Reynolds Grimes, the company's owner, promptly emailed me back asking to set up an appointment. He came over 3 or 4 days later to show me his windows and discuss options/pricing. He was very friendly and very professional. He quoted us $3,875.00 for 10 low-e and argon windows, and gave me prices per window for additional addons (like grids and foam wrap). He was also up-front about where the prices were coming from and differences between his and competitor's products.
After talking with Reynolds, I decided to get an estimate from another company, Window Universe, just because I have no idea how much windows are supposed to cost. They sent out a salesman who absolutely lacked professionalism and acted like we were old friends from college. Window Universe estimated roughly the same price for exactly the same type of window, but I felt like he was trying a bit too hard, and he really put my wife and I off with his lack of professionalism.
We ended up deciding to wait a few weeks to get our windows done, but we will almost definitely be getting the service through Contemporary Remodeling when we decide to pull the trigger.
Update (November 26, 2013):
As I described above, I called Reynolds back when we decided to get new windows (on 10/14/2013). Reynolds came back to our house and we discussed exactly what we wanted. The final price was slightly higher than the original estimate because we decided to add foam wrap and the glass break warranty to all of the windows. We signed a contract and were told that Reynolds would call us in about 3 weeks once the windows were in.
About 4 weeks later, I spoke to Reynolds to choose an installation date. We chose November 26, and were told that Reynolds' crew would arrive around 8 or 8:30am and would probably take 5-6 hours to complete the job. The day before our appointment, Reynolds contacted me to let me know that if it was raining, the work would have to be postponed, but he offered the following Monday if that happened.
At 7:30am on the day the windows were to be installed, Reynolds called to say he and his crew were on their way, but did not know if they would be able to work since it was drizzling and was expected to rain much more. At 8am, his team arrived and began unloading the windows. They said they'd work until they had to stop due to the weather, so they worked all morning in the rain. I was shocked at 11:00am when his team came to me and said they were done. I walked around the house and looked at the windows, and they looked great. I also looked from the outside, and they windows looked great. The team even vacuumed inside and swept outside to make sure they did not leave any debris.

Reynolds was recommended to my wife by a neighbor who had "new" siding (we thought it was, turned out to be a few years old). He was extremely communicative, helpful, flexible and willing to accommodate somewhat abnormal requests. The quality of the job was fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the timeliness of execution. Not hastily in-and-out, but quickly and thoroughly.
It's also worth noting that this house had been neglected for a number of years. some of the fiberboard paneling was rotting or separating, the panels and some ledger boards were warped from ivy growing under them, some portions around the eaves were rotting... They made structural repairs before covering them up.
Bonus points: The siding was about 25% done when the ultra-violent wind storm hit on a Friday night. Reynolds came by to assess the situation by 8am on Saturday morning. His crew had already stopped by and collected pieces of insulation and materials that had blown several houses down by 7am! They're good!
We're planning to use him for some other projects.
