Bartlett Tree Experts - 41211

It took about 15 minutes. We have been using them since 2012. They are fast and clean up everything. There’s not a sign that they’ve been there. Their pricing may be a little high, but we didn’t get quotes.

We love them! They have done a tremendous job over the years. We have been with them for 3-4 years. The cost depends on what is being done. The trimming can be several thousands of dollars depending on what’s being done because our trees are quite large. I feel their pricing is fair though.

Diseased tree fully recovered. Several years ago I was originally referred to Bartlett by a competitor because Bartlett employed certified arboriists who could properly identify diseases and recommend the apporpriate treatment. Most tree service companies do not emply aborists. Bartlett came, diagnosed the problem and sucessfully treated the diseased tree for fungus. Treatment was good for a couple of years, but this past year fungus came back as it is prone to do. This past summer was the second time I used the services, which again were successful in getting rid of the fungus.

They did a good job. One time there was a miscommunication on when they were coming out. I got other estimates and they are definitely on the high priced side, but they are concerned with saving the trees if possible and not just chopping them down.

We have been using them for anywhere from 8-10 years. They are very professional.

Taylor was great and they trimmed and treated as agreed to - everything was great. Price wise they were just a bit more expensive then I was expecting but really wanted an arborist to look at the trees - so very pleased with the service. They called several times to follow up. I will continue to use them.

I interfaced with Taylor Duke, arborist with Bartlett tree, and think very highly of him. Analysis provided , itemized quote provided, and future service dates established to apply treatment at the right time of the year.. They came promlptly, they treated the soil / tree conditions, and they sent the invoice just like they explained to me several months ago. We'll see the results in the spring / summer 2014.

Very professionally done, with full explanation. My only complaint is that it seems very expensive for the work that was done; however, I have very little to compare it to.

We decided to wait to do the work but will certainly consider using Bartlett when we are ready. I am not sure which office it was, so the Gaithersburg MD office may not be correct as I live in Arlington VA.

Service satisfactory though a little pricey.

Bartlett answers the phone and returns all emails. An estimate was scheduled, the represenative was on-time, the work was completed on the scheduled day, the work was excellent, the job site was left clean and the cost equaled the estimate. Theese days contractors make the home owner do so much leg work. My total time spent on the estimate, paying the bill and writing this review was under one hour, total, for a $7,000.00 job. Bartlett never required me to be home in order to completethe work and they scheduled everything with good lead time for me. One month later my trees look beautiful and the lawn was not ruined by their equipment. What more could I want?

I sustained damage to my house in Arlington, VA due to the recent Hurricane Sandy storm. Luckily, I had previously used Bartlett Tree Experts to cut down and remove some dead trees on my property last summer of 2011. I had them on speed dial Monday night, 10/29/12, when a humongous twin oak tree in my back yard was blown down by 80 mph winds, and had fallen onto my house. I called Kurt Mohr, Bartlett Tree rep, and he came out the next morning, 10/30/12 around 9:00am, to an inspect the tree on my house. We went over the estimate and details of the job. Within two hours, Kurt had his team on-site, equipment and all, and they went to work cutting down and removing this humongous twin oak tree. They did not leave until almost 6:30pm. Todd, Jose, Juan, and Miguel were true professionals in how they cut down and carefully removed this monstrosity of a tree off of my house, and off of my property. Understand, during this whole time the weather was cold and drizzly all day while they performed their jobs as true professionals. I could not have received better service or a quicker response, and could not have been in better hands than Bartlett Tree Experts.

I set up an appointment for to have the estimate done, and the representative (Taylor Duke) was knowledgable and gave us a thorough estimate detailing the work to be done. We also had a couple of very small oak and poplar trees growing in our backyard that we needed removed, and Taylor stated that they would be taken up at no additional cost. When the estimate was completed and accepted, he stated that he would call me in a few days to set up an appointment to have the work done. After a week without hearing from him, I called the company back and left a message. My only issue with the company was with their communication and responsiveness--I ended up calling the company two additional times because I did not hear back from the representative, and the work itself was not completed until a full month after the estimate was accepted. The work itself was completed well and quickly. The team was courteous and clearly knew their jobs well. We had a short delay when one of the workers noticed a large hornet's nest in the lower branches of the tree. While he left to get a can of wasp/hornet spray, the remaining members of his team worked on the other side of the tree. They were able to remove the nest without any issues and the work was completed without any other problems. They removed as much of the ivy from the trunk and base of the tree as possible and were good about cleaning up the yard/sidewalk of debris when they were finished. I would use Bartlett Tree Experts again, but keep in mind that they are a busy company and it could take a few weeks to get on their calendar.

Today the crew arrived. They were here for about four hours, and did all the work very carefully and professionally. Extremely thorough clean up, too!

The phone was answered by a courteous woman who took down all the pertinent information and set an appointment for an arborist to come by and give me an estimate. A little later on that same day, I received a courtesy phone call from the arborist telling me he was on his way, and when he arrived, he proceeded to evaluate the birch tree and then tell me that there was nothing needed and why. He also gave me a few suggestions along with some valuable information. At that point I asked him about some additional tree trimming work which he looked at and said couldn’t be done due to the proximity of main power lines and he suggested what I should do as far as calling the power company. And the cost for all this was absolutely nothing. So I got a licensed professional arborist to come to my property, evaluate what I thought was a problem that turned out not to be, got told how to remedy a problem which I expected to pay for and may end up not having to, and as I said, it cost nothing. In this day and age, it is rare to find a company with such integrity and is honest enough to say “you don’t need our service”, when the current climate with so many companies is usually, “if we can’t get your money this way, we’ll find a way we can”. So, while I can’t comment on any actual work done, I can assure you that the professional impression Bartlett Tree Experts made on me while conducting their estimate and evaluation is one that I both appreciate and will also cause me to enthusiastically recommend them to anyone in the future asking for a reference concerning tree service. If you need tree service..... I suggest you call this company.

In the summer of 2011, we identified that the disease on our hawthorn tree was rust. We learned from a landscaper and research that the disease is unsightly, but not deadly. The best time to spray the tree is in the spring. We contacted Bartlett Tree office early this year to schedule an arborist to come to our property to provide advice on the diseased tree, as well as the many other trees on our wooded lot. Daniel Teague was very pleasant and professional. He agreed that the hawthorn needed spraying and recommended trimming the dead branches off several very tall trees that could significantly damage our house if they came down in a storm. A crew of three came out to trim the trees and install a cable at the top of one of the trees to help stabilize it. They were very pleasant and efficient. It was fascinating to watch how nimble they were in climbing the trees, cutting the limbs and dropping them so that there was no damage to the surrounding trees and landscaping. There are many companies and individuals that will trim and take down trees, but very few who also provide the type of spraying we needed for our hawthorn. We appreciate the education and experience Bartlett personnel provided.

We had a tree come down in a storm. They came in, cleaned it up and cut down the other one. They came in the grinding machine and dug the tree-stump and root. They were responsive. With the stump grinding they did not do a good job. I called them back and pointed out that they had left a big piece of stump. They came back and took care of it.

Bartlett did a great job. We had a couple of other quotes. Ultimately we chose Bartlett because they genuinely cared about our trees!

I would definitely recommend them. They are very thorough, very professional, very knowledgeable and very accommodating. I have a pest control program. They come four times during the summer. It costs $180 per treatment. They do the trees and do some light trimming. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.

Could have been a better experience. Seeing that they were highly rated by Angie's List, thought I would get a quote from them to remove 3 large oaks, one which was leaning towards the house and had the potential to fall anytime. The were prompt in their response, but never heard back from them....ever.... I eventually used Absolute Tree with great success. They also indicated that they would be using a crane that had the potential to crack my driveway and that it was not their responsibility. Absolute did the work using a crane and never touched my driveway...I will probably never call them again given how happy I was with Absolute Tree.

I have used them every year for the last several years. They are professional. They do a good job. They are reliable. They are knowledgeable. They are professional. They are not cheap. Sometimes you get what you pay for. When you have got people climbing up your trees, you want someone who really knows what they are doing so they don't kill themselves or damage your house or anything like that. They were here this morning. They picked up a bunch of stuff and ran it through the chipper. They raked up any leaves that were hanging around on the grass. They really picked up after themselves. Other than the fact that the grass actually was stood on, which will be upsetting to my husband, you would never know they were here. The estimate the guy sent was for several jobs. They are going to come back in the fall and do some work. He told me that it was not a good idea to trim now because the trees could catch diseases from spores floating around. It seemed like they aren't going to do work unless they need to do the work. They didn't have a bargain on the price.

We have been dealing with Bartlett for years and we have our own advisor, who responds to emails or calls within a few hours and comes out when needed within 24 hours. The work is always scheduled in a reasonable time frame. And the work is done efficiently and the area cleaned up when the job is done. We have an ongoing contract for soil treatment, fertilizing trees, and borer treatment. We have our trees thinned and dead limbs removed every 2-3 years.

Although they are a bit pricey, Bartlett Tree Experts have taken very good care of our mature landscape by providing preventative services spraying for bugs and treating for disease. They are very professional and do a terrific job!

We have used them several times last year and have also used them this year. They are very professional, do what they say they will do and are fairly reasonably priced. They have very nice workers. We have some very large old trees, and they take care of those for us. They maintain the health of our trees. They are very nice to deal with. The person that comes and looks at the trees and checks on what needs to be done is actually an arborist. He knows what he is doing; some of the tree companies don?t have trained professionals. He is pretty knowledgeable, and we have had pretty good luck with our trees with him. They did the trimming about a couple of months ago, and the fellow was actually here over the weekend fertilizing the other ones. The price for trimming the trees - which were not big trees - was $200. The fertilization was about $200 or $300 because they were five big trees. We would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.
