Description of Work: The trees and shrubs have been pruned, fertilized and treated for scale and destructive bugs. It went very well. The trees and shrubs continue to thrive.

Description of Work: They sprayed a large evergreen infested with sawfly. Arborist came out a day ahead of application truck to assess the situation. Very knowledgeable, and we discussed more than this one tree. Provided recommendations and cost estimates on other potential problems in yard but not in pushy sales way. Would use them again because of their professionalism.

Description of Work: Received an assessment of issues with my oaks. Bartlett was very professional and thorough. They gave me a written summary of my issues, suggestions for correction and estimates for accomplishing the work which included fungus treatment, testing the soil and dead limb removal. Per their recommendations, I'm watching the trees for this year and if no change will have Bartlett come in to provide treatment

Description of Work: We had 11 trees removed from our property that were to close to the house. The trees were all builder planted in 1989 and were now infringing on the structure of the house and the deck.

Description of Work: With a long arm bucket truck they trimmed two of our 80 foot birch trees. We have always used Bartlett and are very pleased with the shape of these huge trees and the cleanup that has been done after the trimming.

Description of Work: Removed two 35-40 foot aging spring gum trees in front yard, including stump grinding. There was about three weeks between tree removal and grinding. Safety concern, I would caution, make sure proper spacing and screening is adequate as grinding machine can project tree debris.

Description of Work: They were very punctual and professional. Unfortunately they came in as the highest bid on all the ones i solicited. So I opted for a service that was substantially less expensive, but was able to provide what i needed - tree pruning services. If my tree needs had been more "complex", i probably would have opted for Bartlett, since i believe their price reflects their technical level of skills where tree care is concerned.

Description of Work: The Friday night derecho's 70 MPH gusts snapped the top off of our neighbor's 4-foot oak tree and left it in two 60-foot pieces in our back yard. One was lying on the ground, but the other came to rest vertically; it was caught at the top in another tree and wedged at the bottom against our shed--a tricky proposition. Once phone lines became usable again on Monday, I called a dozen or so tree companies. Only two were able to respond in person within a day, and Bartlett's arborist, Scott Bates, showed up on Monday afternoon. He provided his estimate on Wednesday, and I scheduled them for that Saturday. Scott and a 6-man Bartlett tree crew brought in from Connecticut showed up on schedule first thing Saturday morning with a cherry picker and a shredder truck. The crew foreman was like a mechanical engineer. Using the cherry picker, he tied off the vertical section in three places to two other trees. The main trunk line was secured with a winch. As the vertical piece was cut free from its entanglements, the crew expertly pivoted its mass away from the shed and ultimately lowered it to the ground for cutting up. They also trimmed other branches broken by the falling oak debris. The crew was very accommodating as to leaving behind manageable pieces of firewood, and their cleanup was excellent. I discovered later that they had even put their dozens of Gatorade bottles into our recycling bin. Bartlett billed me by mail, and I was able to call their office and pay by credit card in order to gain some reward points. I was very happy with the result. There was no additional damage to the shed or nearby fences, and even several nearby azaleas were left undamaged. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the crew. The price was higher than I expected, but it was identical to the one other estimate that I was able to get (and that company proposed doing the work by climbing vice using a cherry picker, which I believe would have been more dangerous and time consuming, especially considering the tie offs needed on the vertical branch.) Scott Bates explained that, because Bartlett is a national company, they are able to call in crews from other areas, and this raises their overhead costs. It also appears to make them a good bet for getting help when there is widespread storm damage.
