They weren't on Angie's List. They had done some work in my neighborhood. Atlas Roofing is a terrific company. They did a good job for me years ago. I've been very pleased with them. The guy was in his 60s and he was terrific. He was responsive too. He identified some issues for me and he was pretty static with the service that he gave me. The price was good as I had had a couple of estimates done. They weren't the lowest, but they weren't the highest as well.

They are great. The owner came out and done a inspection and gave a very reasonable quote. We are going to use them to repair our chimney.

They came out, told us there was a ton of hail damage, but if he contacted the insurance comapany, they should be able to pay for it because there was so much damage. I had the insurnace co come out and they said the roof was fine. He seemed to be exaggerating a little bit so we're not using him. His estimate was off.

Our roof had been in need of repair, and I had been thinking about replacing it even though it was only ten to fifteen years old; I had had some other concerns of poor workmanship on the exterior of the house. Ed gave me quotes for both repair and replacement. He pointed out an area around the chimney where the boards had simply rotted away--I hadn't seen it before. He noted that the existing shingles still had some life in them. I could have delayed the replacement job and just done a repair but after talking to many of his customers and reading many reviews I had no doubt that I would be all set for a long time if I just replaced it. He did not push me to opt for replacement. Selecting a color and style of shingle was more problematical. There are just so many different styles and colors. Ed gave me a list of recent customers including the color/style they picked and I took it to mean that I should take a look myself and select from that look. I visited a few of those houses (without noticing the color of the houses underneath the roofs) and found a color I thought I liked, and relayed my choice to Ed (after he asked whether I just wanted to use the original color) but I realized somewhat later that this color in combination with the siding on my house would be very unusual for my community. My house might stick out, and not for any good reason. The chain reaction might have been awful (having to replace my siding etc.) I relayed this concern to Ed at the last minute (the shingles had already been delivered) and he said it was not too late to change my mind, which I did, and it apparently did not delay the job. The actual job took less than a day and included replacing some warped boards. And, I love the same color, it goes great with MY house. Smoothly professional from start to finish. Ed seems to have a sixth sense for keeping customers happy.

We have had recurring problems of leaking from our skylight, which is installed on top of a dormer structure in a converted attic. Have twice before several years ago had work done on it. But during storms in August and early September we had leaks. Ben evaluated the source of leaky skylight and proposed removing existing old sealant and using professional grade sealant. He explained that Atlas could not guarantee the work since there were so many potential sources of the leak, given the dormer contstruction, but that he would return and reevaluate if we experienced further leaking.We have had several heavy rains since Ben did the work and so far have seen no leaks.

Excellent, I had worked with this company about 10 years earlier for a repair. They are excellent and well priced.

Ed was extremely nice, friendly and professional. This is a bit of a weird review but the reason I would not hire Atlas is because Ed told me he could not give me an estimate because Atlas does not do complicated roofs with lots of steeps. I have a Victorian house so that eliminates Atlas's services! He was still kind enough to walk the roof in a rainstorm and tell me he thought it was in pretty good condition. The only problem is the roof was not actually in good condition at all....the shingles were but it was put on in a shoddy manner and as a result I had a terrible leak and so much rotted, nasty wood under the shingles it was mind boggling. It might concern me a bit that Ed said he didn't see any reason my the roof should be leaking when the company I ended up going with saw the problem (and the shoddy workmanship) in two seconds flat. However, I'm willing to give Atlas a pass because it was a torrential downpour and he probably saw immediately that this wasn't a job Atlas could do anyway, so he didn't spend much time up on the roof. Plus, my parents used Atlas for a reroof and loved them....but they have a much simpler roof. So I would say if you have an uncomplicated roof, they might be a good choice.

Extremely professional. Their price was comparable to others, but their very detailed estimate and the online reviews is why we went with them. Could not be more pleased with the work they did--especially on one of the hottest days of the year!

The owner came to the house, made a detailed presentation, desrcibed his business and workers then went to roof to check what replacement would involve. Several days later he presented a detailed estimate, samples of materials to be used (there were several choices that he described and listed cost of each). He estimayed that thejob would be done in 2-3 weeks. He called about 10 days later to say he had a crew available two days later, and we agreed to proceed then. About 8 am that moirning a crew of 5-6 arrivedand began work. About two hours latter, another crew arrived to provide reinforcement. Thus, the job was finished by noon, which all for the better since the temperature was approaching 100 degrees by that time. The entire operation was well-organized. Plants and the air-conditioning compressor were covered with tarps.

The workmen came at the agreed-upon time, worked the entire day, and did an excellent job. The owner constantly checked their progress which pleased us. Owner responded immediately to a call-back from us. We would definitely recommend them !!

They were very good and we were very pleased with them. Their work looks good. They were on time and they did it very quickly. They had a big crew. We would use them again.

Ben came and took a look at it and determined it must have to do with the flashing around some pipes. That did not fix the problem. He came once again and put some tar, I think, on it. Still no difference. I called the owner of the company and he basically said sometimes they can't figure out what's causing the leak. He offered to return part of the money, but I didn't pursue because I wanted the roof fixed. My point is the owner should have come out himself to take a look at the situation so this customer would be satisfied.

I hate to gush, but working with Atlas Roofing has been a complete pleasure. We are in the middle of a major renovation and repair as a result of a severe hail storm last year. We have worked with gutter contractors, siding contractors, patio enclosure contractors, window contractors and flooring contractors. We have spent a significant amount of money and all I can say is that dealing with Ed and Atlas Roofing has been the best contractor experience we have encountered. He is extremely knowledgable, never tried to "up sell" us, presented us with all the info required to make informed decisions, and did exactly what he promised to do, when he promised to do it, for the amount of money he promised to do it for. Sounds simple but we have found this to be the exception, not the rule here in Northern Virginia. I will admit I was a little nervous at first, Ed is quite busy and it sometimes takes him a few days to return a call, but he always kept his appointments, called back in the evening, answered our endless newbie roof questions. Working with Ed I have found him to be a man of patience and extreme integrity. I only wish he also ran a gutter business, window, business, siding business, flooring business........

Very well. Repairs were made while our family was away, and there have been no leaks since. Hats-off to a company that stands behind its work long after the work was done. Thank you Ed.

Except for the fact they forgot to cover our belongings in the attic (which got rather dusty) they did a good professional job.

Atlas sent someone to estimate how much it could cost to repair our roof. The estimator was professional, courteous, and said he would send us the estimate in the next day or two. Nothing happened. After leaving two voice mail requests to send the estimate, we finally reached a live person--Ed, I recall was his name--who promised to send their estimate the next day. Again, we never received the estimate. My guess is this company is not interested in your business unless you want to replace the entire roof.

The are superb. I have no quams in recommending them. They showed us what they removed which was just as well because it was really sub standard. We had them use the higher grade of shingles. I found them trustworthy, they did a very good job and they were on time. If you had any questions they were approachable and able to answer them. I had a very nice rapport with them. The higher grade of shingles is reflected in the price. They are very good.

Ed, the owner, came and checked our roof and provided us an estimate. He told us we had more time on the roof and did not see any damage. However, since we had set aside the money and had some prior damage, we went ahead with the replacement. Atlas had the best price of the four companies we received estimates from. The time from the estimate to actual replacement was about two months, mostly due to weather. Everything went smoothly with the shingle installation, and Ed went over all the work with my wife afterwards and answered all her questions. We are completely happy with the work and price, and would recommend them highly.

Overall, I was satisfied with the work and would recommend Atlas Roofing to others.

Appraisal was thorough. Recommendation was appreciated. One other company agreed with Atlas while two other companies gave us estimates to replace the roof and never suggested that we did not need to replace the roof.

A strong thunderstorm came through on a Thursday afternoon and bent my roof's ridge vent so that rain could get into my attic. I called several roofers on Friday, and Atlas was able to respond the fastest. Ben came to my house on Saturday and was able to maneuver the vent so that the gap was covered. He then returned a few days later and installed a new ridge vent. He did the installation while I was at work; he left the invoice in my front door. I'm very pleased with Atlas's service.

Everything went very well overall. They are top-notch.

Atlas Roofing showed up on time to perform an estimate. After looking around, the proprietor said that he'd send us a quote by mail. After waiting a week, we received no quote. After calling the proprietor and being told the quote was sent out "yesterday", we still received no quote. Atlas Roofing wasted our time; in addition, waiting for the non-existent quote caused us to have to push back the date for the actual work to be done.

They were on time and on budget. Great crew, good clean up, high quality work
