Boy, did I make a HUGE mistake hiring AirTech Systems, something I will never do again. I needed some waterproofing done in my basement and needed to have one side of the furnace dismantled so the waterproofing guys to get to the back corner of my basement. I called AirTech Systems (since the paperwork showed they installed the furnace/AC) and asked how much dismantling and then reinstalling the furnace parts would cost. The service manager said it would be “around $500”. Okay, fair enough. Then the waterproofing guys said the hot water heater also would need to be moved aside. I called AirTech Systems and asked if they could also move and then replace the water heater. They said yes, and I was grateful. I figured based on the initial quote the total would be less than $1000. After everything was reconnected, SURPRISE!! They sent me a bill for over $2000. When I called to ask about the gross discrepancy between the original $500 quote and the final bill, I got the worst kind of B.S. excuses (“well, you know, there are a lot of little parts to reconnect” and “we checked with our techs and they said they needed all this time”). Boy was I a sucker. I strongly recommend that folks needing HVAC work find an honest company to work with. I wouldn’t recommend AirTech Systems to change a light bulb.

They came out earlier in the week for a regular seasonal tune up although I knew that my system was having problems. I learned that my system, which is 20 years old, was losing coolant, had leaks in the coils, and needed to be replaced. Even though I have used Air-Tech Systems for many years, for such a big ticket item, I did research on other companies. Calling Air Tech Systems back, the company manager agreed to meet another estimate and agreed to come out the next day. I couldn't have been more pleased with the 4 men who worked to do the demolition and installation. They were pleasant, professional, they arrived earlier than the 7:30am that was agreed upon (but I found them waiting in the parking lot), they cleaned off the concrete slab that my old unit sat on, and cleaned everything up and hauled everything away. I am so happy that I stayed with them and would highly recommend them.

We used them for approximately five years without any significant issues. There were minor issues due to the inexperience of some of the techs performing the maintenance calls. One year a tech came out to check the cooling system and began removing the metal tape from around our humidifier, when I questioned why he needed to look at it, he didn't realize that is what it was! I asked him to leave and called to ask for another tech. Unfortunately it could not be rescheduled and the system was not checked again until the fall.
Scheduling for maintenance was a common problem, you had to take their first available appointment or run the risk of missing your window for regular maintenance. However, their techs that handle problem calls respond very quickly. Most of their techs are very knowledgable. There is one guy who works with gas heaters that was outstanding. Our blower went out in the dead of winter and the system shutdown to prevent overloading, (or something like that.) Since it was freezing cold the guy came out as soon as possible had the problem diagnosed and ordered the part. Within two days the part was replaced, and we were warm again. But understand, the part was another $300 plus. But the service call was included.
There are lot of good things about doing business with Air-Tech. One year, I can't remember if it was 2008 or 2009 when the Financial crisis was making life h****** everyone, Air-tech lowered their maintenance contract price to help out their customers. It did help, and showed that Air-Tech is looking to the long term and wants to keep their customers. Most of their techs are very good, but as with any company keeping good help can be an issue.
Overall, I think maintenance contracts are like insurance policies. I'm gambling that I will need it and save money, some years that was the case, some years it was not. For now, I've decided not to renew because I just can't afford it, but Air-Tech is not more expensive nor any better or worse as far as I know. My experience was fair, but not outstanding because of the scheduling problem. Would I use them again, I said no, but maybe.

I was referred to Air-Tech by my brother after going back and forth with another (HVAC) company over a four day period about getting a firm quote before proceeding with the job.
My unit failed on a Tuesday night, I cleaned and ran it on Wednesday to no avail, Thursday I contacted (HVAC) referred by my condo management and made an appt. for that evening, the Tech showed up on time and was very polite and professional, did a diagnostic and declared the compressor dead.
From that point forward things went south, I received a written quote from him off of a franchise pricing guide at more then twice what the work would end up costing me. He told me to discuss it with his service mgr., the next morning I called her and was told they would get back to me later that day, 4 days later they called back and told me they had the part and wanted to schedule the work, what happen to my firm quote !? Friday morning through Tuesday morning, humid 90+ August weather, I cancelled the workorder and went with Air-Tech.
Late Monday afternoon I called and talked to John Sigillito Jr, Sales Manager, a Godsend, he explained in detail what had probably happened internally to the compressor. He layed out what they would do to repair the problem, put me on hold for a couple of minutes, then came back with a firm phone quote.
John told me they would find the part and try to get over to my condo within 48 hours, they did.
The technician, Terrance, showed up Wednesday morning, clean/polite/professional and immediately got to it.
He spent half the day installing/checking/testing all the items in the Provider section above and towards the end another Tech showed up to help him finish up.
At five-o'clock I had cool dry air filling my condo.
I will be getting the furnace service/maintenance done by Air-Tech in October.
I will happily refer any and all family and friends to use this company.

Overall pleased with this company and like the company's integrity and customer service. Owner's son seems to really care about the business. Also feel he avoids trying to overcharge. Purchased a unit and had some issues which were diligently addressed. Only area of improvement Needed would be some techs are new and lack experience. Can overlook a company's weaknesses when I trust it.

The job went absolutely fantastic. All the services they provided were above and beyond my expectations. They did everything according to contact. I would use them again and recommend them to others that needed this service.

Two techs were assigned to my service. First tech showed up on time and ready to work and was clean and professional. Second tech, Chris, showed up an hour late and came looking for a fight with someone. Walked in with no knock at the door or introduction and started arguing with other tech immediatly then proceed to start arguing with me. Chris escaleted his argument to swearing and threats. I asked him to leave and he refused. Had to escort him out of the building and called cops. Called AirTech to report and tell them to send another tech. Instead they told Chris to keep working and I discovered him on the roof. Another call to AirTech and Chris left and another tech showed up two hours later. Work was completed by 8:00pm after a 7:00am start. The price on the tickect was higher than what was quoted which required several phone calls the next day to square away. After all was done the unit does work well, heats and cools well but is very loud, no variable speed fan and is not eliglbe for tax credit as the unit is not a high efficiency unit. Both Items I asked about and was told prior to install complied but after install do not comply. After speaking with several AirTech employees, our building engineers and other tenants, Chris has a well documented reputation as a hot head and AirTech has a reputation of over promising and under performing while over charging.

The installation of the furnace went fine. A month or so after the installation, we realized there was a leak at the inline oil filter that they had changed. We called them to repair the leak. They came promptly but, charged us $220 to fix it claiming that it wasn't their fault. Several gallons of fuel had leaked which caused thousands of dollars worth of damage in our basement. Air-Tech Systems refused to admit any responsibility. We have called several times and requested at least a refund of our $220. They will not refund the money.

They responded promptly & honestly to a question I had, & solved a problem that a few other companies could not. Even though the project was much more complicated than they thought they still charged the original quoted price. This company was very clean, they never left a mess for me to clean up & left it cleaner than they found it.
