Very good. Crew very skilled and professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They even did extra which wasn't part of contract and agreement, but they did it anyway just to do it right with no additional charge to me. Tim the site supervisor and Viki the office manger very nice to work with. Very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend this company to others.

We recently purchased a fairly new townhouse constructed by a quality builder in the Ashburn area. I have taken advantage of Angie's list to bring in various professionals to assess the current condition of the home and have had good results. This was not the case with Adelphia Exteriors, which basically resulted in a total waste of both my time and money. I took the morning off from work so that I could accompany the inspector during his assessment of our attic insulation. The appointment was set for 10:00, which should have provided plenty of time to get completed in the morning and get back to work. After arriving an hour and a half late, the inspector asked me if I had a ladder, which I found odd, then returned to his car to get his. He proceeded to open the hatch in our master bedroom closet, and dumped insulation all over my clothes because he made no preparations to protect anything. I asked him to stop while I grabbed a garbage bag to cover up my clothes, then we went up into the attic. The only tool he brought with him to perform the inspection was a cellphone, which he used as a flashlight. He never moved more than five feet from the hatch even though it was on one side of the townhouse and not the middle, citing the fact that he didn't want to disturb any of the existing insulation. He immediately went into a sales pitch about how we needed the full treatment of additional R19 insulation on top of the R28 we already had, baffles, top hats for lights, and the all important "Air Seal" treatment. He didn't move any insulation to see if this treatment was required, so I proceeded to do so myself. I pointed out that there was sheet metal around the chase for the HVAC duct work, top hats already installed, and baffles along one side of the eaves. These were all easily visible from where we stood. It's a Miller and Smith home, which was built to be energy efficient, so it may even already have the air seal treatment for the wiring, but since it was never checked I may need to go up again and look for myself. During the write-up of the estimate, the inspector explained that it was "All Inclusive" of baffles and top hats, even though they were already installed. When pressed, he gave me a $78 discount from the $928 price since the Angie's List discount was already being applied. I went with Adelphia based on the rave reviews from other customers on both the inspection and the work performed. I feel that I did NOT get what I paid for as far as the inspection goes, instead paying for an estimate that many other companies provide for free. I can't speak to any other work performed since I will not be continuing my relationship with them based on the initial unpleasant experience.

Inspector arrived on time and gave a thorough explanation of recommended insulation levels and the update needed my attic. The information he provided was consistent with information I had gathered on my own. The price quoted was significantly lower (about half) than an estimate I'd received from a company I'd found at a Home Show. And there were no high pressure sales tactics. The workers who installed the insulation were very professional and cleaned up all debris.

It didn't go. The vendor came, told me he didn't think I needed it and offered instead to send me a written summary and estimate via email. He did tell me their consultations are typically $50 and the balance would apply to any other service they would perform. I never received the follow up email or any other proposal, so I essentially paid $149 for $50 in service value. The person I spoke with seemed nice enough, but in my opinion he seemed to be juggling more than he could handle. This happened in 2015 and I provided this information to your Angie's list rep who called for a review so I no longer remember the specific dates.

Great! I also ended up getting additional insulation in the attic and it has made a noticeable difference keeping the house warmer with the frigid temperatures we've had lately (17 degrees!). They were not pushy with the recommendation for more insulation. They took pictures so I could see the status before and after without me having to crawl up the ladder.

Quote was provided by George. He answered all my questions and explained all the options fully. They added baffles, foam board to knee walls and attic entry doors and blown insulation with rulers to top up some existing batting insulation and fill in the gaps. Insulation was installed by a two man team. They arrived promptly, were courteous of my family with minimal disruption to our morning routine, did the work efficiently and cleaned up. My only concerns were the work was to include an attic inspection and the installation team just said "everything looks fine" and then secondly, when they came around to do the estimate, on the appointment flyer it said 10% off for first time buyers but this was not applied to my bill. I was, however, provided a discount on the insulation.

George, the salesperson/estimator, was on time, courteous, and very professional. He answered all of my questions, including the ones I had after I had purchased the service. Travis, the technician, and his assistant arrived on time and began work immediately. I live in a row house in Brightwood and my attic has a very tight crawl space. Travis crawled right in, put down rulers and blew in fiberglass insulation while he was still in the attic. The workers also were very courteous and cleaned up after they had finished. George followed up with me after the job was completed. I was very happy with the entire procedure and would recommend this company to others

On 8/4/16, Robert came to my house and provided an estimate for 3 different options, including an option to spray on a radiant barrier on the under belly of the roof and exterior wall, and installing an attic tent. This appeared to be the best solution given my desire to continue using the attic for storage. A few days later I received a card in the mail, with a personal hand written note thanking me for the opportunity to do business. This company appeared genuinely interested in completing the work, and so I contacted Adelphia to complete the necessary paperwork and start the job. On 8/10 Tim arrived, completed the paperwork, and a date was set of 8/18 to complete the job. I was assured that they would only need a couple of hours to do the job, and that the items stored in the attic would not need to be disturbed in order to finish the project. The total price to complete the work was estimated at $1,721. I later learned that this was more than double the competition, which offered to do the same amount of work for approximately $850. However, I was locked into a contract and proceeded with the work. I provided a deposit of $574, to be charged to my credit card, and was to pay $1,147 at the completion of the job. I received a receipt on 8/13 indicating the deposit had been paid and the charge to my credit card had been approved. On 8/16, I contacted Tim to discuss possibly delaying the work due to other circumstances that was going to cause a financial difficulty. I was reminded that the contract was already signed and that Adelphia would not be flexible with the contract; however, Tim stated that there were some various financing options available. In addition, I had stated that I needed the crew to be at my house first thing in the morning on 8/18, as I had a meeting at noon and needed the work done before that time. Tim promised to call me back within 1 hour to discuss specific financing options and confirm the exact start time for the work. I never received that call back and made a call again the following morning (8/17) to confirm the start time. Tim again promised to call me back within 30 minutes, and failed to follow-up with me. I finally called the office directly 5 hours later, and the office was able to confirm the crew would be there at 8am. On 8/18, the crew arrived early. The crew was very professional, and completed the work in about 45 minute’s time. I was shocked at how quickly the work was completed, so I entered the attic myself to inspect the work. I was equally as shocked at the poor quality of the work completed. Upon inspection, I found that the attic tent had not been installed, the under belly of the roof had only been sprayed about ¾ of the way with radiant barrier, and the interior wall – which is a shared wall and not exposed to heat from the outside – had been sprayed unnecessarily. I approached the crew about this, and they indicated they did not receive an order for an attic tent, and that they could not completely spray the underbelly of the roof because of the storage boxes being in the way. This contradicts the information that had been provided during the initial estimate provided by Tim. The crew promised that someone named George would call me to discuss correcting this issue. I had not heard from George all day and finally contacted Tim at the end of the work day to discuss my frustrations. Tim was surprised to hear of the problems and promised to call me “right back” to schedule a future date to complete the work. Unfortunately, Tim again did not follow through with his promise. FIVE DAYS later (on 8/23) I finally received a call back from Tim, who indicated that the work could be completed on 9/1, 9/2, or 9/3. None of these days worked with my work schedule and I told Tim I would consider my options and reach back out to him. At this point I was extremely frustrated with the very poor customer service, the broken promises, and the poor workmanship. I reached back out to Tim on 8/25 to discuss these frustrations with the poor service and to let them know that I did not want them to complete the work. I did not trust them to complete the work. I offered to pay for the supplies and work that had been completed and stated that I would hire a different company to finish the project. Tim became argumentative during the conversation, further highlighting the poor customer service I received. On 8/27 I received a voicemail from Tim stating that Adelphia would not allow me to be released from the contractual obligations, and that I MUST allow Adelphia to come and complete the work. Displeased with the position Adelphia took, I reached out to my attorney to discuss legal solutions. On 8/31 I called Tim back, stated that I was pursuing legal options, but had offered to give Adelphia one final opportunity to complete the job, if they were willing to discount the work. Tim spoke to his management and they agreed to reduce the contact amount by $400. The earliest they could complete the work was two weeks away, so a follow-up appointment was scheduled to complete the work on 9/16. I was instructed to move the storage items (again, in contradiction to what we had previously agreed) and that the attic tent would be installed at that time. On 9/16, the crew arrived in the morning and was again professional. They took approximately 30 minutes to complete the work. I went to inspect the attic, and found that the remainder of the underbelly had been sprayed. However, the attic tent had again not been installed. The crew stated that an attic tent was not included in the work order and they were unaware of the need to install it. They further stated that either Tim or George would arrive later in the day to install the attic tent, which was not going to be possible because I had a flight to catch that afternoon. I immediately called Tim, and a THIRD appointment was set for 9/19 to finish the job. One of the managers came on 9/19, installed the attic tent, apologized for the inconvenience, and the job was finally completed – 1 month after it had been scheduled to start. Tim had promised early in the process that the financing department would contact me after the job was completed to arrange for the payment of the remainder of the services. The financing department did not reach out to me at all, and on 9/27 Dave, a new employee brought on to help oversee operations and sales, contacted me to inquire on how satisfied I was with Adelphia. After a lengthy discussion, he promised that someone would reach out to me the following day to arrange financing. Surprisingly, I found someone who was able to live up to that commitment, as Tim had contacted me on 9/28 to discuss financing options. I received an invoice which detailed the down payment that had been previously received and showed the outstanding balance. The invoice appeared correct. I was slow to pay the final invoice, and on 11/4 Tim had contacted me to check on the status of payment. He indicated at that time that I owed a payment for the FULL amount, $1,321 (full contract price less the $400 discount). He indicated that the down payment had been rejected when they attempted to process the credit card. This seemed odd since I had paid the down payment more than two months before this, and had received a receipt indicating the charge was approved. I told Tim I would look into the matter and have a check sent to them. On 11/7 I submitted a payment in the amount of $774 for the remaining balance according to the most recent invoice I received. I received a follow-up call on 11/15 from Tim. He indicated Adelphia had received the payment, but that it was not the correct amount and an additional amount of $547 was outstanding. I explained that I had a receipt showing an approved down payment, at which point Tim admitted that Adelphia had charged the wrong credit card and referred me to the last 4 numbers on the credit card receipt. Sure enough, the credit card on the receipt did not match any of the credit cards I have, and the name on the receipt was also misspelled. Tim indicated that Adelphia attempted to charge my card for the down payment, and the pay
