Great, wish I had looked him up sooner.

I have a front porch with a concrete surface, brickwork around it, and brick steps. The concrete surface had a major crack, the brickwork had numerous cracks, and the brick steps had mortar deterioration. I found Manning Masonry Doctor on Angie's List and called Mr. Manning. I told Mr. Manning that I wanted the crack to be replaced with decorative bricks; the other repairs were to be made as normally would be. Mr. Manning discussed the project with me in detail and provided me with an estimate in a reasonable period of time.

The work took about three days. Mr. Manning was always willing to answer questions and explain what he was doing. He protected the house and plants near the work area. He took extra precautions to eliminate dust from entering the house.

About three weeks after the work was finished, a crack developed in some of the new mortar. I contacted Mr. Manning who arranged to return in a few days to replace the mortar. That repair held.

I found Mr. Manning to be very professional and true to his word. I recommend him and I will use his services again.

Mr. Manning had a crew of 4 who worked on the home for a total of 5 full days. They matched the grout and brick perfectly. The crews showed up each day and they worked the entire time. The crews were very professional and there was no music or down time. All work was explained in detail and the clean up was great. They cleaned up the property and left it in great condition. I would hire them again.

It took a little while to get a return call after initial contact, but after that it was an excellent experience. The estimate $300-400 lower than the next lowest estimate. Workers arrived on schedule and completed work in just 2 days. They performed a thorough cleanup at the end of each day and their work was beautiful.

Mr. Manning was recommended to me by one of the owners of Shawel's Appliances. She said he had done a beautiful job for her, and that his bid was much less than others she had gotten. She was so satisfied and complimentary that I got an estimate from Mr. Manning and decided to use him. My front porch was actually sinking and was sloping at such an angle that, whenever it rained, my doormat stayed soaking wet. Mr. Manning did a phenomenal job of demolishing the concrete center of my porch, making sure it was properly supported, and re-pouring it. He even stayed late into the night in freezing weather, explaining that the concrete had to be constantly monitored until it reached a certain stage. His attention to detail was so meticulous and his repairs were so outstanding, including perfectly matching the mortar, that it was difficult to locate all the areas he had repaired. I strongly recommend Mr. Manning. He is highly professional, does quality work, plus he possesses honesty, integrity and his work product is extraordinary. He is a true perfectionist, and I feel that his bill was extremely reasonable considering the scope of the job he accomplished on my behalf.

We are extremely pleased with Larry Manning and Son's work. The entire project was a success on several levels.
It was hard to find a mason with the skill and willingness to:
. Remove a 30' section of vinyl fencing from the porch
. Repoint and relay all necessary bricks on the entire porch and around the whole house
. Reinstall the fence sections in the proper and safe manner
We shopped several masons in Tidewater VA but they either only wanted to do the repointing portion, or wanted to charge 50% more because they weren't sure what the project would entail.
Mr. Manning does restoration work in the Williamsburg area. As you can imagine there is a lot of restoration brickwork in the Williamsburg area. He and his son worked 3 1/2 days and we could not be happier with the results. We highly recommend Manning Masonry Doctor.

Larry Manning does outstanding work. We would highly recommend him. All of his work blends seamlessly into the existing structure. You would never know that repairs had been done. He provides excellent advice, arrives on time, cleans everything up, and keeps us informed about the progress of the project.
