Bob did a fantastic job on ALL the numerous projects he did for us. He was always on time, worked extremely hard, did exceptional high quality work, was knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. He was so skilled in numerous projects I fired all other contractors and went strictly with Bob. He was exceptional at drywall, remodeled 2 bathrooms (plumbing, electrical & tile), a full kitchen (instillation of new cabinets, backsplash, lighting, electrical & plumbing), built custom window boxes and ceils) and lots and lots of drywall! He never called out, no showed or skimped on working hard. We still have a wish list of projects we intend to hire him for. If you need someone who can do it all...Bobs your man!

The project appeared to go well in the beginning. On the last day of the work I noticed the floor was not stable at all. When I walked on the bathroom floor it was apparent the base was unstable. The floor mad a creaking noise each time I stepped. At first the contractor said he didn't notice the problem. I also pointed how the grout had cracks. After the Resident Handyman acknowledged the problem. He attempted to repair the problem of the unstable floor but it didn't work. He fixed the grout line and told me to wait for it to dry. Upon waiting for the grout to dry the floor cracked at the same grout joint each time. He returned to the house about three times attempting to fix the problem. I could see the problem was not the grout it was base. Since the base was unstable it didn't matter how much he tried to fix the grout line. On his third attempt the grout line looked as though it was stable and that lasted about 10 months. The grout line has started to crack again in that same spot on the bathroom floor. I reached out to the Handy Man again and said he will have to charge me now since it has been over a year. The job was never done right the first time. That's why I will not recommend this guy to fix anything again.

Bob listened, wrote his work list, clarified his list, got needed supplies, reviewed what he was going to do each visit, did his work in a knowledgeable/pleasant/professional manner. Bob is a very smart and multi-skilled person. Would definitely have him come back for more work. Have also given his name to my friends.

Several unforeseen problems were encountered. Mr. Birch dealt with each one with a good spirit and successfully accomplished the task. Because of those unexpected problems which he had not encountered previously, the job expanded from one hour to three. We are delighted with the result.

Bob was great! He was prompt, polite, efficient and knowledgeable. The job took longer than it should have, due to NO FAULT of Bob's but just a problem with my plumbing. Bob took it all in stride, patiently worked through the problem, and still charged what he had quoted me for the job. I felt like I was dealing with a very honest, hard working, ethical person. I would definitely feel confident in having Bob do work for us again. Highly recommend him!

He was excellent and was a professional. Courteous and answered all of my questions in a professional manner. The stovetop works beautifully and the ceiling is in the best shape its been in years. The bike rack bars are a blessing and I really appreciate him for putting it up enough for me to reach. I feel that there is nothing that he cannot do. He is patience and makes sure that the work is up to your satisfaction and it was beyond that. Thanks a lot for being on Angies List.

I can't say enough good things about Resident Handyman. From initial contact to completion of the job, the whole process was smooth. Bob was extremely responsive and when he came out for the estimate, he was knowledgable and professional. He also found the needed materials for a lower cost than he originally estimated and he finished the job faster too. The finished product looked great. I'm looking forward to working with Bob again.

The main project we needed to have done was to take the screening off of our gazebo and build window frames with screening. This would then make it possible to take the frames out in the future when we need to clean or paint. The existing screening was just stapled to the posts and power washing would just tear it down.
Unlike the others who provided pricing to do the project, Bob suggested building the frames so that they were added to the inside of the gazebo. They screw in and there is no need to use a ladder from the outside to work with them in the future, something that is important as we get older. He also painted them to match the deck which we had recently stained. (All other vendors were going to build them from the outside of the gazebo.)
We had a secondary project which was to replace some posts and split rail fencing that had rotted out. It not only required digging the old posts out, but stapling the coated fence to the posts which is required for pool security with children.
We are very happy with the quality of the work that he did and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others, as well as use him for other projects in the future.
The pricing shown was for both projects and very competitive with other bids that we received. The fact that Bob provided excellent suggestions for the gazebo work was a determining factor in choosing him.

Ever thing went great. Bob had to work with the renters in the house to get ever thing done. I guess you can say he is on call. If I have a problem at one of my townhouses Bob takes great care of it. Bob takes pride in is work and it show's in ever thing he does. I trust him to get what ever the problem is fixed and done right and safe.

He did a pretty good job on the garage but made a major mistake. There was a major leaking problem in the roof since the roof was not long enough. He was also doing a bathroom remodel which he never completed.

"I did not build the garage. I simply put siding on the existing carport on the side of their house and poured a concrete slab on the inside. The roof was existing and I did not alter it. As to the bathroom criticism, We came to a halt waiting for the homeowner to decide how she wanted the transition of the tub/shower unit to look upon completion. This was not a typical bath setup and I offered several alternatives as to how to design the project. We left the job with the understanding that she would contact us when she had decided what she wanted. She never did! I would also like to note that we spent over two weeks on this job doing many other tasks such as, painting the entire exterior of the house, replacing a custom ordered door, and several miscellaneous jobs at the request of the homeowner. The entire time we were there we had to fend off a humongous great dane who wasn't happy with our presence in his house without the owners being there. This is very upsetting to find after having cancer since August of 2012. I have since recovered and am trying to get back to servicing my clients. I am sorry for this customer's dissatisfaction and only wish she had called me with any issues involving my workmanship. I take pride in my work and stress customer satisfaction."
