Price of $4,000 and timeline of 1 week was provided, and we agreed.  One week into the job and the garage wasn’t even finished, and they hadn’t even started the posts in the doorways yet.  Communication to schedule when they would be there to do work was horrible.  They would tell is they were coming, and not show up, or show up when we weren’t expecting them.  Expressed our disappointment in the slip of schedule and lack of communication.  The owner then provided us with a better idea for the posts which would enhance the look of the house, and offered it at no additional costs (HE SAID).  Once the job was done, we received an invoice for $4,350, with the additional costs incurred because his sub-contractor charged him more labor for the “no additional cost” posts that we had installed.  Refused to pay the additional $350, then I received a voicemail message from the owner telling me that his attorney will be contacting me, and he was going to put a mechanics lien on the house for what he "felt" he was owed.  Needless to say, I did not want to mess with the legal fees that would exceed $350 to prove my point, so I paid the extra $350, and chalked it up to lessons learned (GET IT IN WRITING).  Now, pictures of the inside of our home are posted all over their company website and Facebook site, which we did not give them permission to do.  Who wants their private home and personal belonging visible to the world?   After numerous attempts to get them to take the pictures down, the still refuse.  Guess we may have to go the legal route after all…
